2024.11.24 22:58 thilkerbaumer Boosters Too Weak
I have 3 track sets with boosters that are all around 3-4 years old. This I usually get them out for my kids to play with every so often, this time after getting them out of storage and putting new D batteries in them, the boosters don't generate enough power to send even car around any of the tracks. I'm wondering/hoping it's just the Rayovac batteries that I bought and I need to switch back over to Energizer or Duracell.
But does anyone have any ideas why the boosters just all of a sudden suck? I blew compressed air on the moving parts, took one of the boosters apart to make sure it was still lubricated properly and didn't tons of dirt or debris on it - it was fine.

I'm looking to add a zoom to my travel kit and I'm debating between the Sigma 18-50 and the new Fuji 16-55mm ii for my x-t5. I like the size of the Sigma and don't know that the smaller focal length range matters to me all that much as my most used are probably 18mm and 27mm, but maybe if I had the further ends I would use them. Do we think the image quality of the new 16-55 is worth the price and size increase over the Sigma?
I generally like to keep my gear small/light while also taking into consideration image quality. Cost isn't really a huge concern at present but I do mostly carry my gear around in my purse (vintage Coach city bag, for size reference) - which one would you go for?
