2024.11.24 22:50 Skaalhrim Did any viking-contemporary Scandinavians (700-1000CE) think that viking raids were immoral?
I'm reading Njáll's saga right now (English translation). In it, viking raids are not condemned as far as I can tell. In fact, they seem to be a common way to turn boys into men. However, the existence of a complicated legal system and widely understood ethical norms in ancient Iceland are a clear attestation that viking age Norse people were not lawless or completely amoral.
My hunch (maybe totally off) is that at least some contemporary (non viking) Scandinavians wound feel morally conflicted about viking practices and that there were varying degrees of taboo behaviors even among Vikings themselves.
Is there any evidence (perhaps in the sagas) of laypeople thinking it would be immoral to pillage, rape, enslave, murder unprepared townspeople (especially women and children) in non-war settings?
Separate but related question: Was there a "viking code of ethics" that any followed?

Theres a couple major plot points that felt weak in WoA and HoA?
WoA: Vin disregarding a spy amongst their midst seems uncharacteristic, especially with how dire their situation was and how much their plans relied on tricking their enemy.
HoA: Vin and Elend thinking sneaking into Yomens stash was a good idea, AFTER telling Yomen thats what they were here for? Sazed completely forgetting Steel Inquisitors exist when dismissing the potential that Spook was burning another metal other then tin when he jumped from the burning building. I think the quote is something like 'He could check his copperminds, but he knew he wouldn't find anything there. There was no instances of a misting ever becoming a mistborn later in life.'
I know theres reasonings behind these things, but the reasonings fall a little short in my head. Thoughts?

my concept is correct or not, when battery is first manufactured with the help of chemical reactions it pushes the electrons to say, point A and as pile of electrons start gathering they starts to repel the electrons which comes to point A via chemical push but chemical push is stronger than the electrostatic push YET and gathering of electrons increase thus also increase electrostatic push so the process continue UNTILL chemical push becomes equal to electrostatic push and the process stops. So point A becomes negatively charges hence the negative terminal and point B which is devoid of electrons become positive terminal. So this is how battery has two terminals. Now the electric field makes the FREE ELECTRONS OF THE WIRE move to the positive terminal of battery. When those electrons move to the resistor. First , let's name few things point that leads to the resistor is C and the point inside the resistor is D and the point at the end of resistor is E. The electrons moving in the wire assuming no resistance is faster than the electrons in resistor. So at point C and D many electrons are crowded and at E only few electrons get away from resistor, So at E there is positively charged comparatively and at C negatively charged comparatively so the slow electrons at D that is inside start accelerating because of repulsion at C and attraction at E. The electrons in wire start slowing down because of repulsion at C and the electrons who get away from resistor start slowing too because of attraction at E. So in the end the speed of electrons in the resistor become equal to the speed of electrons in the wire. Though the free electrons are many in the wire but they also have a limit so make the process continuous, the pile of electrons at the negative terminal starts to move as they are attracted as all the free electrons in the wire has gone to other side they have created a vacuum that is comparatively positive charge. Now as the pile of electrons in negative terminal of battery start to leave the chemical push, pushes the free electron of the wire that was going to the positive terminal of battery to the negative terminal of battery as all the electrons inside battery has already left the battery so the chemical push, pushes the FREE ELECTRONS OF THE WIRE as it does not has any option left. That's how the process become cyclic.

2024.11.24 22:50 CreepyCat27 Tmj Inflammation or Dislocated Jaw?
 | I'm a 28 year old woman, I do drink and smoke casually, but overall I think I'm relatively healthy. I grind my teeth in my sleep. And recently it's been causing me to have a tight jaw in the mornings. Usually it goes away after a few minutes, but this morning I woke up and my jaw felt so tight and weird that I panicked and tried to pry it open. I felt a pop on my left side, now that side aches very badly and when I look in the mirror it looks a little lopsided. I can talk minimally, but I haven't dared eat anything other than soup. Also can't totally close my mouth without very bad pain on my left side. Is it possible my jaw is dislocated, or is this just inflammation of the TMJ? Should I got to an urgent care or can I wait to see my regular dentist tomorrow? Please and thank you I'm freaking out a little. Wasn't sure how best to show the jaw crookedness other than this bad picture of my smile lol.
