2024.11.25 00:41 DravisKyle Is just me or I feel Bell's power level is never consistent?
I'm right now watching Season 3 of the anime, and I feel that Bell's power is not what it used to be.
Back in S1 whenever Bell became stronger, it showed.
He was able to defeat the big gorilla (which BTW he should have level up, as that was a HUGE act for someone as weak as him), and at the end the enraged minotaur.
Sure, for high level adventurers that's easy, but for Bell, you as the viewer could feel how Bell was growing, pushing his limit more and more.
But ever since S2-S3 came, I feel all of that has been throw to the trash can.
S2 started with the commander of Apolo beating Bell in 3 moves.
I believe Bell was Level 2 and he was Level 3, but Bell's stats are S since season 1, so even thought he wasn't Level 3, he should have been able to give that guy a good fight, especially as he was enraged because they were insulting Hestia.
However they make the commander OP and basically the wolf guy from Loki's family had to save him.
Second fight against the same commander was the same, Bell lost without a chance to do anything, showing that the commander was truly on another level (maybe he was close to be level 4 and thus why Bell couldn't do anything).
But on the third fight, Bell humiliate the dude, it was such an easy fight that hardly it could be called a fight.
I know some will say that he trained with Ais and the other gal, but that was a 1 day training session (maybe one and a half day), no way Bell could beat the (almost) level 4 dude in one day of training (this I feel is plot armor through the roof).
Then the second half of S2 was against the family of Ishtar, which again, Bell lost against one of them which was enhanced and thus was "level 4".
However, then again, Bell came from defeating Apolo's stronger family member, a guy that was (peros al opinion) faster than the woman even at level 4, and Bell was humiliated on that fight.
When they invaded Ishtar's city, Bell was running away from every fight (You could say they were all Level 3, but honestly it didn't felt like that, it felt more like they were all level 1 with fancy weapons and armors).
Bell already has experienced fighting against large numbers of enemies, both humans AND monsters.
Also has experience against faster enemies, stronger enemies and large enemies.
I feel Bell could have easily defeat all of them without wasting magic or running away.
Then he had to fight the "frog" woman, which supposedly, was as strong as Ais (on her prime).
She was just a meat sponge, she never moved, she never used magic, she only swang her axes and did nothing more than that (such a bad battle).
Yeah, the frog woman was not on her prime but was still a level 4 adventurer.
Same goes as the man of Ishtar, the level 4 half-naked guy which literally teleported behind Bell and restrain him, but in less than a minute Bell was able to flee and he didn't even attempt to pursuit him (Despite Ishtar not commanding him to let him go).
So again, is Bell faster than a level 4 adventurer? Or every single enemy is nerfed after meeting with Bell?
Bell literally came from beating the floor 18th boss, (with his skill and magic weapon) but that shows just how strong Bell really is, he was able to beat someone who was invisible (object), and 2 very strong monsters which were at least 10+ levels higher than Bell at that time.
But as soon as S2 and S3 started, it feels like Bell is weaker than everyone, both human and monster.
He wasn't even able to beat the Xeno Lizard man with his heroic skill, which was the SAME skill that literally melted half of the giant back on S1.
Yes, he's a Xeno, and had armor and has been living for quite some time, but facts remain is still a common monster with higher stats than his other counterparts.
But guess what? Bell did the same on S1 with the enraged minotaur, that was ALSO a boosted monster, which Bell, level 1 adventurer, with no heroic skill, was able to defeat.
Sorry that I vent so much, but I really like the Anime, and I really like Bell, however I feel they are nerfing him too much, and then they nerf every enemy that he encounters.
It really sucks to see him losing against enemies that are on his same level, or that we know that he can beat without much problem.

I was thinking about how much of an advantage it is and how many games are decided by who won the die roll. And I thought, there has to be a better way to balance it. Here's my idea;
First, here's the problem.
Player 1 uses 1 mana and passes the turn, having a 1 mana advantage on their opponent. Then player 2, uses 1 mana and the mana advantage is equal. Then player 1 takes their second turn and uses 2 mana, and they have a 3:1 mana advantage over their opponent, and then it continues.
After the first player has played their second turn, they have had access to 3 mana to their opponents 1, and this mana advantage is always either in their favor or equal.
My proposal:
The player on the play plays as normally, but the player on the draw gets to start the game by putting a land on the battlefield, and then they skip their first turns land drop.
Turn 1, player 1 and player 2 both have access to 1 mana. The mana advantage is equal. Player 2 also has the opportunity to stop busted turn 1 combos, scam, etc. Then player 2 takes their first turn, and has access to 1 mana. Now the mana advantage is 1:2, the player on the draw has the mana advantage. Then the player on the play takes their second turn and has access to 2 mana, and now they have the mana advantage 3:2.
This proposal gives both players on the play or draw the opportunity to have the mana advantage on each of their turns throughout the game. The mana advantage swaps with each player taking their turn as opposed to the player who won the die roll keeping the advantage or parity throughout the entire game.
There is a possibility with this rule change, that it would be acceptable that both players draw a card on their first turn. Testing would be required.
