Currently, I'm learning how to play guitar and it as been tough HAHAHA. But I do love listening to music and am obsessed with a few musicals despite not ever even stepping into a theater.

2024.11.25 02:10 Most-Bowl Success story data point - half-assed Themis and did nothing else
Dropping in to share a story that I would have found comforting if I’d seen it while waiting for results.
Disclaimer: I highly recommend studying more than I did.
I did Themis, barely hit 75%. About half of my course progress was just me clicking through shit without reading it. I didn’t read any of the outlines. Sometimes referred to them when I was confused. I listened to all the lectures, kind of as podcasts while I was doing other stuff. My main practice was the Themis MBE practice questions—I think I did about 1000 in total. I routinely scored about 65% on these.
I didn’t do ANY Uworld or adaptibar questions, and I think I only did 2 or 3 of the Themis graded essays. I was way behind the recommended study schedule all summer, and way behind all my friends. I went on vacations and stuff, didn’t study on weekends, studied like 4ish hours a day most days. A few days before the exam I started getting so anxious I couldn’t really study anymore.
When I took the bar exam, I was totally devastated. It was so fucking hard. I was almost nothing like the practice questions I’d taken. I was totally a mess. Had a horrendous headache, sleep deprived, had to rush through the last 30 MBE questions in like 20 min. After the exam I thought it was about 50/50 whether I passed, and I really regretted not studying harder. I was mostly kicking myself because I didn’t do ANY real practice MBE questions (released by NCBE, available on Uworld and adaptibar) in my studying. I really felt like I might have answered as few as 50% correct on the MBE. MEE seemed ok but not great. MPT seemed good.
So I agonized while waiting, figuring that if I was lucky enough to pass, I’d score no higher than 280. I got my score back and it was over 320! I really really wish I hadn’t been so worried after taking the bar. Should have just trusted that I passed.
Ymmv, but that’s my data point. For context, I have always been a good test taker and got good grades at a top 50 law school.

I'm 24 and can honestly count on 1 hand the number of genuine Christians I've met in my life growing up. I know many more young Muslims who are strong in their beliefs, but Christianity seems to be a joke to my generation, it feels very lonely. The only serious Christians I've come across are those who's parents emigrated here from Africa or Eastern Europe. I'm mentioning young Christians, but now I think about it, I can't even think of any older Christians that I know of. My parents and my grandparents are all atheists, all of my friends parents and family are atheist, it just seems very strange that this is how things are now. I guess I'm just looking for some encouragement or words of advice.

I am married to an American citizen and currently in the process for immigration. We have been approved to apply and in the process of completing and submitting the I-864 and DS-260. We have not paid the fees as of yet either. I have two question and am hopeful someone can provide some clarity:
- I would like to postpone submission of the application for as long as possible(ideally on yearly basis). I would like to postpone but without withdrawing the application to avoid resubmitting and awaiting approvals again should we choose to proceed. At which step would it be most viable to do so and how can I do it? We just had a baby and I landed a big opportunity and would like to pursue this for the foreseeable future.
- I’ve decided to release my lawyer as I had found him incompetent. How can I remove him from the application form on the nvc website?

Since I was a little girl until now I have always been good at kick boxing and in general I consider that I am quite hardened... However, one day when I was about 15, a boy picked on me and gave me the worst slap I've ever felt in my entire life and it felt so brutally strong that I almost felt like it was going to rip off half my face. The only reason I "won" or came out of that well was because I hit him with a right hook in the balls, but even though this guy wasn't even trained, a simple slap almost took me out. I honestly wanted to believe that it was more a circumstance of natural differences in physical strength between men and women and not the fact that I was weak. Since other girls have thrown punches at me and they never really felt meaningful.
But according to a friend and other comments on reddit that say there really isn't that much of a difference and that I was simply weak...
