So let’s say you make it to in-person auditions and you fly in to Dallas, like, do you just not book a return flight back home just in case you do make it to training camp? Do you bring a month worth of stuff with you to potentially live out of a hotel? How long do you know to book a hotel or airbnb for? Am I the only one who would feel extreme anxiety dealing with this kind of uncertainty and disorganization? lol

I've been on anti depressants and anti psychotic for almost two years now and my life has completely changed. I can't really tell if it's bad or good. I know it may sound dumb but I want to know of others like me feel the same. I have bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder. I was first diagnosed at 10. Since I've been on medication this time around I just feel so BLAH. like nothing excites me or makes me happy. But I very rarely get sad either. I just feel "Monotone" with my emotions and most of the time I feel chronically bored. Even with things I used to enjoy. I feel withdrawn. Like most of the time I just feel disconnected from my body. It's hard for me to connect with anything or anyone. I never leave my house. I'm never around people outside of work. Can someone please help me figure out why I am this way? I'm slightly worried because this is not me AT ALL. Did I finally break from all the trauma and this is how I turned out or is this medication?

I wish that one day I will be able to show you the text and we can go back to normal. But deep down I know it will never happen and that is just something I will have to accept. But for now I will continue to write notes for you. Until I slowly forget to write to you and you are nothing but a distant memory. I hope.

2024.11.25 05:41 estifxy220 Why were major metropolitan areas and cities in the US in such poor condition in the 70s and 80s, and what led to their drastic improvement today?
With how much the 70s and 80s are romanticized, especially when talking about the US, I was surprised to hear how bad life was in pretty much every major metropolitan area in the US was at the time.
NYC, probably the most famous example, had so much crime that walking over broken glass from car break-ins and robberies was normal, and some parts of the city looked like an actual warzone, especially the Bronx. Areas that are now world famous today such as Times Square had a ton of porn shops and prostitutes, and SoHo had drug dealers everywhere. LA had basically unliveable amounts of smog, to the point where you had to wear a gas mask while in downtown or stay inside on some days to not damage your lungs, and gang violence and shootouts were at its peak. Chicago and DC both had insanely high homicide rates, and Miami had a huge problem with drugs, especially cocaine. SF also had a huge problem with drugs and prostitution, and even Boston was very dangerous in the 70s/80s. Seattle had huge problems with homelessness.
The only major cities I can think about that were doing especially well in the 70s/80s are cities in Texas such as Houston and Dallas, because of oil. But besides that, pretty much every other major city had tons of crime, drugs, and so much urban decay to the point where some parts of the cities looked like actual warzones that just got bombed. But my question is, why? On paper, most people would've probably assumed the 70s/80s in the US were amazing because of how romanticized it is, so much so to the point where people call it "America's peak", and wishing to go back to that era. Also with how much people complain about crime nowadays, saying its at its peak, when it probably barely even compares to what it was like back then. What caused American cities and metropolitan areas to be in such bad conditions across the board on nearly every metric during the 70s and 80s? And while a lot of them still have major issues, how did they improve so drastically to what we have today?

I think God wants me to keep reaching out, so here I am! Anyways, I would love to hear what y’all have been experiencing in your spiritual lives. It could be anything from a religious experience, to a trial you’ve been faced with, to a spiritual overhaul, or just a change of pace. It’s always good for my soul to hear your stories.
My recent development is a return of an indescribable and immediate faith in God and His constant loving presence, perhaps more robust than ever before. I feel Him accompanying me as a Companion in my life, a Friend whom I can trust with everything, who is always there as a support if I only turn to Him. There is this indescribable sweetness I feel, this wholesomeness, pure goodness, this loving care and understanding, this support, all so utterly mysterious—but of course those words don’t capture it at all. It’s so far beyond words that what I write feels quite silly. I love my Friend so much! I could not be more lucky! I am going through many inner challenges lately, and it can get quite rough, but God is helping me through it and overall I just feel so thankful.
BTW, does anyone else think that there should be a weekly thread like this?
