I mean, obviously, they don’t do their own grocery shopping. Someone else does it for them, but not every rich person has an organic farm, right?
By rich, I mean at least Jennifer Lopez kind of rich, not a wealthy suburban family.
Food safety is a huge deal, but I guess rich people still get the best quality food since they’re at the top of the food chain!

Hey guys, since Darkside is stepping away and with him the TLOG PHILOSOPHY series, I thought i should continue the series he pioneered.
I would describe spite as willingfully performing an action in hopes of mentally affecting another person. What inspired me to write about spite was a conversation i had on TLOGcord (join btw) about this very topic.
We talked about spiting relatives for treating their interests like it was a joke by just disaccociating from them. To a certain degree, i agree with it. If you aren't interested to hear about me in my purest form, why should i be interested in hearing about you? But it's never that simple now, is it? It's easy to treat people like their interests don't matter when you don't know much about that very interest. I have a example about this from my real life. People here treated programming and IT work as a fad that is gonna die out even 10 years ago. What changed their minds? It's mostly credited to education. Still, there are some people who are just ignorant and don't wanna hear you out. At that point, you should avoid talking to those people about your interests.
There are 2 types of spite: -Positive; -and Negative. Positive spite can be described as spiting someone while providing a net benefit to yourself. I heard a quote about that: "The best revenge is living a fruitful life." Meanwhile, negative spite is the exact opposite: spiting someone while being detrimental to yourself. Negative spite is like The Fruit Of Knowledge from The Garden of Eve. You try it once, you can never go back. By negatively spiting someone, you are effectively saying that your well being means less than the pain brought to the other person. I get it, it's an addictive drug. But if you wanna live a fruitful life, you wanna abstain from negative spite. Meanwhile, positive spite is the key to a happy and healthy life. By using positive spite, you are declaring that you do not hold grudges and that you forgive, but not forget.

Hello all, new here. I have been around cats my whole life and always loved them and do understand how to act around them and that they can be picky, etc. I have never been uncouth in any way towards this cat. My dad got a cat while I was away at college about a year ago, and I am so serious when I say she hates me. I sometimes play with her, but have never been able to hold or pet or really coexist in a room with her unless she is on her cat tree. She hisses at me on sight about 80 percent of the time, and I’ve turned here for advice because just now, I was lying on my living room couch just on my phone; did not even notice she was in the room until she parked herself in front of the couch and started hissing and growling at me to the point I felt mildly unsafe. She continued doing this and followed me to my bedroom doing it until I shut my door. Territorial thing since I am home for Thanksgiving and she might not be used to me being there maybe? I want to know if I have done something wrong, genuinely breaks me a little bit that we are not on good terms. She is a smaller black cat, a little over a year old. Only pet in the house. Affectionate with my younger sister when she is home (they bonded when she was a kitten) and gets along with my dad fine (I assume because he feeds her and does play with her often) so it’s not a temper problem. Only traumas I can think of that she would have are that she was a feral kitten, but she was still less than a month old when my dad took her in and since then she is nothing but pampered. I am clueless and sick of it especially considering I would not be surprised if she eventually attacked me one of these days.

In February 2013, I suffered what was deemed a mild concussion in a ski accident. I went off a small jump on the side of a trail and fell, when I hit the ground there was a sharp jolt that surprised me. I thought concussions were only caused by bigger accidents and that the dizzying would go away as I continued to ski. I went off another jump and had an even bigger wipeout. That evening I slept over a friend’s house, smoked pot and continued to feel even more dizzy.
I felt off the next morning and when I got to work, the dizziness had amplified and I couldn’t speak. I was diagnosed with a concussion on the spot. I visited a doctor where they said the concussion was mild and should heal up quickly within a week. I lay in bed for a week and while I was told not to be on my phone, I still continued to use social media, text friends and watch videos. I was 16 and had no idea how addicted I was.
There were other massive changes in my life the weeks following the concussion. My Dad’s company was hit was hard times so my family’s financial future was in limbo, our house was in constant chaos, my friends increased their bullying towards me and was constantly battling headaches. A few times I felt so overwhelmed that I would find myself collapsed on the ground, but felt I couldn’t open up to anyone this was happening. This was also the end of my Junior year so I was feeling the pressure of SATs, college applications and figuring out to do with my life. I live with an extreme case of dyslexia, so academics were always a source of strife and I grew up feeling I was battling my brain. While I had grown up feeling frustrated and lonely, it wasn’t until the concussion I began catastrophizing feelings of hopelessness. I have journals from this time I keep writing how I miss my brain “before the concussion”.
My senior year of high school is a year I don’t like to think back on, as everything that was wrong the later half of my Jr year spilled into that year and only got worse.
The past ten years have been marked by depression. It seemed no matter what I tried, I was never able to shake this depression away. This past year I felt my depression slowly start to waive off, but fired right back up after daylight savings.
Even though it was a mild concussion that was supposed to heal quickly, I was never the same following the injury.
Sometimes I find myself reliving the accident where I smacked my head. All my jobs in the winter have been in the ski industry, I love skiing but sometimes being on the mountain triggers fear of another concussion delving further into depression. I still can’t help but wonder if my current state of depression is the result of a mishandling a brain injury during such a turbulent period of my life.

2024.11.25 05:34 Darksol503 Need input; NHT Super Two towers, X-Over, sub, and what to do?!
Hey gang! I have a 2.1 setup that I am just trying to find the sweet spot in x-over situations. Long story short, these NHTs are basically a Super One bookshelf consisting of 6.5” woofer, and simple dome tweeter above them. The rest of the tower is the housing for a downfiring 6.5” woofer that is internally x-over at 120hz. Powering them is an older Yamaha RX-V379 AVR. Lastly, I have an older Harmon Kardon single 10” sub x-over’d in the AVR at 80hz (universal recommendation) handling bass.
I have set the avr to treat the towers as “small” to allow that 80hz x-over to take over, since I want most of my power to feed into mid bass and above. My question is, with this set up, I am essentially sending only 120-80hz to the downfiring subs, and everything 80hz and below to the sub, correct? Is this a bad configuration? Should I consider changing the towers to “large” to have the towers just handle a full-range? I am not sure but will be auditioning both, but thought some input could/would help.

Okay I had the weirdest thing happen to me. I have my helix piercing since the 8th of augustus. 3 weeks ago I wanted to see if I could switch to a ring, which I know is too early, but wanted to give it a try anyway. Now, everything is going smoothly and well until my shower yesterday. Idk why but after my shower I had A HUGE irritation bump and it even started to bleed a little. My scared ass immediately changed the jewelry with another one I got my conch with ( I have no flatback at home and will get one), and I woke up today and the irritation bump is COMPLETELY gone. It only left a little dried crust and it just went away. Is this normal????

The previous record was 1,001 and was set by Nico Scheicher of Austria in 2019. It took him 9 hours to complete this feat on a trampoline. Jack from Florida just broke that record at 1,111 flips tonight. It took him 5 hours to complete his first 1,000 flips and he did this without falling once. It should be noted that he also did this on a very old trampoline that has survived 8 hurricanes in his dad's back yard. The dude is an absolute legend. He's still live streaming on his YouTube, although he's currently sleeping on the trampoline next to the beach. I'm assuming he's going to continue to backflip all day tomorrow to solidify his record.
