2024.11.25 07:59 abel_333 Calories in calories out riiiight?
So me and my brother were arguing over whether calories in, calories out is actually true and a reliable way to lose weight. I’m not the most knowledgeable on this topic but I’d thought I had watched enough MPMD videos over the years to understand. To be clear I was arguing for CICO. I used the argument that 2 people that weigh the same, eat the same amount of calories and burn the same amount will weigh the same over a long time frame. The difference is one person eats trash and the other eats a healthy and well balanced diet. Obviously eating trash will not serve you as well and you will not be as healthy(they will not have the same body composition either) but atleast theoretically you should weigh the same as the other person.
After about an hour of arguing this point we came to a firm disagreement.
My brother said that the unhealthy person who regularly eats food which causes their blood glucose level to spike and increases insulin levels. This drives fat storage up every time they eat these foods. This will then lead to less available calories to burn in the blood thus causing them to become more hungry. The person eating the unhealthy diet will overtime gain fat (and weight) even if they eat the same calories as the healthy person and stay hungry. Their body will learn to burn less calories and slow their metabolism even if both people are doing the same amount of exercise. Keeping in mind this is over a significant amount of time.
TLDR: He reiterated to say, he still stands by the point that the unhealthy person will weigh more overtime even if they eat the same amount of calories and exercise the same amount. He also doesn’t disagree with CICO per se BUT he does think it is oversimplified and doesn’t take into account his points.
Anyone here know of papers or Studys to find on this stuff? And give us your opinion on these takes!
Ps. I had an aneurism trying to understand the details of my bros argument and asked him to read over everything written.

Hello,
I did some shopping on Amazon.nl in the last week and just noticed they all are invoiced for my sole proprietorship business with 0% BTW.
I have no intention of buying those products as a business expense, but as I haven't done anything with my business, I don't know how to pay for the BTW myself.
Can anyone guide me through the process? Is there any legal liability if I pay for the BTW fully?
I can only find "deducting" explanations on the web and to be honest it's a bit scary when it's about taxes.

I hope the playerbase could abandon their own mains for a moment, but play more Venture in order to show Blizzard that we deeply care about this character when Venture pickrate & playtime skyrockets, thus Blizzard may give Venture skins. (Ana got the most number of BP skins because she has the most playtime.)
I would like to hear some tips about their gameplay, such as: engagements, target prioritization, ult usage, etc. Normally Venture should go after Supports but I see some Venture disrupt Tanks and it still worked out great. I only know I must avoid Cassidy because his Hinder shutdowns both Venture abilities.
