Hi, I am looking to get some advice because I am not sure what to do in this situation. I rent month to month, but the current place I am renting has recently sold and the new owner is taking over on the the 25th of November and will most likely be raising the rent so I decided to find another place to live. I gave my notice on the 9th of November through text message to the current saying that I have a new apartment lined up and I will be moving out on December 1st. The landlord said he is just going to confirm everything with his lawyer since there is a confirmed sale but not to worry about anything on my end and he will get back to me get back to me (he never did) so on the 23rd I asked for an update, he replied and said that his agent passed it along to the buyers agent and once the sale is complete they will be the one to receive the damage deposit from. Now here is the issue. Today on the 25th (day of the sale) he said "I just re read your message, the rental agreement requires that you give notice on the day rent is due, I thought you were giving notice for the 1st of December to move on January 1st and according to the tenants act you have to give notice on the 1st of the month so you can't move out until then. Is this legal? Do I really have to pay another month of rent here? He agreed through text message but then changed his mind on the 25th over 2 weeks later. What can I do here?

I use Van Halen to escape the worldBecause of this, and because so many biopics are lame, a VH one should be this — an extended family and friends meet at the Thanksgiving table in southern California.
The owner of the home has a drum set in the basement. They are musically inclined, as well as educated.
