2024.11.25 13:30 Hot_Gas_842 What happened to Ex-CDF Perry Lim?
Perry Lim was COA from 2014-2015 then CDF from 2015-2018. He was a President’s scholar as well as SAF Overseas Scholarship recipient and was promoted to LG (3 star) in 2016.
However whats interesting is that unlike many of his predecessors and successor; is that after retiring from the military he did not get any cushy govt dept head jobs. For ref; MG chan chun sing is now Minister of Education, BG tan chuan jin was Speaker of Parliament, BG Lam Sheau Kai is now SMRT President and LG Lim’s successor is now MOD perm sec etc.
Unless he pissed off the govt or sth, it seems very strange that he did not get a nice govt related job. Even if he wanted to do pte sector work, from his linkedin it seems he has job hopped 3/4 times alr since he retired from the SAF. Bottom line is; im just curious why he didnt get luxurious jobs like many before and after him. Did he fk up or sth?

2024.11.25 13:30 ComfortableDog2197 Results for physical anxiety symptoms?
I'm curious whether anyone has taken this drug for anxiety only, and whether it has had any positive or negative effect. Along with generalized anxiety and rumination, I experience a lot of physical anxiety symptoms including an extreme post-stress response which involves dysregulated heart rate and blood pressure, which leads me to spiral into health-related anxiety. I recently tried Wellbutrin which made me SO MUCH more anxious- constant panic attacks and hypo mania. The only SSRI I tried was lexapro several months ago which reduced my anxiety but caused me to feel very low and have suicidal thoughts. Any input would be helpful!

2024.11.25 13:30 ReasonableTie3593 workplace pension does not accept opt-out / no refund
Currently at a UK university trying to opt-out of the pension scheme. University claims that due to a previous employment years ago (which came with the same pension scheme), I cannot 'opt-out', but have to give notice to withdraw. When I started my employment, there was no notification about this. Only some flyers about the benefits of the scheme. No personal contact that informed about the previous enrolment to the scheme.
The website is not particularly clear on the opt-out/withdrawal process, except that this seemed to only be available after they confirm my subscription to the scheme. For this reason I waited until they sent an email confirming my re-enrolment to the scheme about two months after work contract start.
Issue is that they do not want to refund the contributions that were already deducted in these first months. If I had been a new starter without previous contact with that pensions scheme, there wouldn't be any issue to just opt-out and get a refund. The scheme is based on auto-enrolment, so I had no chance to opt-out at the stage of contract signing.
My question: Is this bitter hindsight on my end or should I seek legal advice as I don't think they informed my clearly about my rights and the implications?
Thank you!
PS: In case someone would ask, I know the scheme is a really good deal, but nonetheless useless to anybody outside of the bubble of permanent positions. academia problem...

2024.11.25 13:30 Hexaotl Hit to the head - no symptoms till 48 hours later?
I (28M) train boxing as a hobby, and last Monday I was hit with a slightly hard punch to the left side of my head (middle/top). I was not rocked, did not see stars or anything like that, but politely asked my sparring partner to ease the power a bit. I did not think more of it the rest of the day or the following day, and it was before Wednesday evening before I starting feeling strange. I was sitting down, tilted my head backwards and was suddenly hit with a strange dizzy sensation. After doing this, I started feeling unwell, and slightly dizzy for the next couple of days, and straining activates felt uncomfortable.
Now, one week later I feel more or less fine again, only with a slight sensation in the back of my head during some activities. Also worth noting, I have had light concussions (no loss of consciousness, but later dizziness and headaches) a couple of times before.
Can this be caused by something else since it was more than 48 hours between the sparring session and me starting to feel concussion-like symptoms? If not, why did it take 48 hours until I felt anything? Should I see a doctor?

Its ability to adapt to trends and meet different consumer needs allows it to remain a key industry in the global economy. Over time, companies in this sector have innovated to include healthier options, sugar-free drinks and products with low environmental impact, aligning with the growing demands for sustainability and health. This versatility is one of the reasons why the beverage sector continues to attract investors, who see in these companies the opportunity to be at the forefront of a rapidly evolving market. Furthermore, the beverage sector has a competitive advantage in that it is backed by strong, well-known brands that enjoy exceptional consumer loyalty, contributing to stable and recurring revenues. For investors, the beverage sector represents a combination of stability and growth opportunities, particularly in emerging markets and premium or functional beverage segments that are gaining popularity around the world. This market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 2.4% during the period 2024-2032, reaching a value of $1,963.1 billion by 2032. This sustained growth reflects the sector’s ability to adapt to changing consumer preferences and global market dynamics. essential for expansion and attractiveness of the sector for investors. These trends show that the global beverage market is a robust sector with growth opportunities for those seeking long-term stability and performance. NFS and DYOR#1. The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE: KO) Coca-Cola is one of the most recognized brands worldwide, with a wide range of products including soft drinks, juices and energy drinks. The company has demonstrated a consistent ability to adapt to market trends, investing in healthier and more sustainable options. Its strong global presence and effective marketing strategies make it a solid choice for investors looking for long-term stability and growth. https://preview.redd.it/qnk6hz6plu2e1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=0ee2cb74f74849b623784275bb112bc39db7a017 In the third quarter of 2024 , Coca-Cola reported net revenue of $11.9 billion, a 1% decrease compared to the same period last year. Despite this decline, the figure exceeded analysts' expectations, who estimated $11.65 billion. Adjusted earnings per share were $0.77, beating forecasts of $0.75. This performance is partly attributed to a 10% increase in prices, especially in markets with high inflation such as Argentina. However, the company experienced a 1% decline in unit sales volume, influenced by a 2% drop in concentrate sales. The Asia-Pacific and EMEA regions showed volume declines, while North America and Latin America remained stable. Despite these challenges, Coca-Cola maintains an optimistic outlook, anticipating 10% organic revenue growth for the full fiscal year. 2. PepsiCo Inc. (NASDAQ: PEP) https://preview.redd.it/1tc6h80slu2e1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=817f0c44582c41631a01ac85f56e64e639000a72 PepsiCo is not only known for its soft drinks, but also for its diversification into snacks and foods. This diversification has allowed it to maintain a stable and resilient revenue stream in the face of market fluctuations. In addition, the company has invested in healthier and more sustainable products, aligning itself with changing consumer preferences. Its focus on innovation and expansion in emerging markets positions it favorably for the future. PepsiCo reported an unexpected decline in third-quarter 2024 revenue , coming in at $23.32 billion, below estimates of $23.76 billion. The company lowered its annual organic sales growth forecast to the low single-digit range from a previous projection of 4%. This revision comes as consumers in North America are cutting back on spending on snacks and soft drinks, opting for cheaper brands. Despite these challenges, PepsiCo managed to improve its profit margins thanks to cost-cutting measures, with adjusted earnings per share of $2.31, beating estimates of $2.29. However, organic sales at the Quaker Foods North America division declined 13% during the quarter, impacted in part by a product recall related to salmonella concerns. #3. Monster Beverage Corporation (NASDAQ: MNST) https://preview.redd.it/83yl9lq6mu2e1.png?width=1538&format=png&auto=webp&s=2b49c266cf1aa98d357ec1e7d120d51f4a30d2be Monster Beverage has established itself as a leader in the energy drinks market, a segment that has seen significant growth in recent years. The company has expanded its product line and established strategic partnerships to strengthen its global presence. For investors looking to capitalize on the growth in the energy drinks segment, Monster represents an attractive option. Monster Beverage Corporation (NASDAQ: MNST) has experienced recent challenges in its financial performance. In the second quarter of 2024, the company reported net revenue of $1.9 billion , an increase of 2.5% compared to the same period last year. However, this figure was below analysts’ expectations, who projected $2.01 billion. Earnings per share were $0.41, also below estimates of $0.45. The company attributed these results to a decrease in convenience store traffic and a tighter consumer spending environment. In response to these challenges, Monster Beverage announced a 5% price increase on its core brands in the United States, effective November 1, 2024. This measure seeks to offset rising costs and maintain profitability. However, some analysts expressed concern that this increase could affect demand among price-sensitive consumers. Despite these obstacles, the company remains focused on expanding its presence in the beverage alcohol market and diversifying its product line to adapt to changing market trends. #4. Constellation Brands Inc. (NYSE: STZ) https://preview.redd.it/rjphc2ogmu2e1.png?width=300&format=png&auto=webp&s=6677194261b014e2bf1814d2e893180f686a7aaa Constellation Brands is a leading producer and marketer of beer, wine, and spirits. Its portfolio includes well-known brands such as Corona and Modelo. The company has shown consistent growth and has made strategic investments in the cannabis sector, further diversifying its revenue streams. Its focus on innovation and expansion in key markets makes it an interesting option for investors. Constellation Brands reported an increase in fiscal first-quarter 2025 earnings, with net income of $877 million, or $4.78 per share, compared with $135.9 million, or 74 cents per share, a year earlier. Adjusted earnings per share were $3.57, beating estimates of $3.46. However, sales came in at $2.662 billion, slightly below expectations of $2.669 billion. The beer segment showed 8% growth, driven by the strong performance of brands such as Modelo Especial and Pacifico. On the other hand, wine and spirits sales decreased 7%, reflecting challenging market conditions in the United States. Despite these challenges, the company maintains its fiscal 2025 guidance, anticipating sales growth of 6% to 7% and free cash flow between $1.4 and $1.5 billion. #5. Brown-Forman Corporation (NYSE: BF.B) https://preview.redd.it/3lvwlx2kmu2e1.png?width=3000&format=png&auto=webp&s=4dc778d7f53240778e0cf2a7ea9bb0b463cfd402 Brown-Forman is known for its iconic Jack Daniel's whiskey brand, among others. The company has maintained a strong position in the premium spirits market and has expanded its presence internationally. Its focus on quality and building strong brands has resulted in sustained growth. For investors interested in the premium spirits segment, Brown-Forman offers an attractive proposition. In the first quarter of fiscal year 2025, ended July 31, 2024, Brown-Forman Corporation (NYSE: BF.B) reported an 8% decrease in net sales, reaching $1.0 billion, compared to the same period last year. This decline is primarily attributed to a reduction in sales volumes, especially in the U.S. market, where brands such as Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey and El Jimador tequila experienced significant declines. Despite these challenges, the company reaffirmed its growth outlook for the full fiscal year, anticipating a return to growth in organic net sales and operating income, driven by gains in international markets and the normalization of inventory trends. In terms of innovation and expansion, Brown-Forman has continued to diversify its product portfolio. The recent acquisition of Diplomático Rum and Gin Mare has strengthened its presence in the premium spirits segment. In addition, the company has launched new variants of its iconic brands, such as Jack Daniel's & Coca-Cola RTD, to appeal to a broader consumer base and adapt to current market trends. These initiatives reflect Brown-Forman's commitment to innovation and expansion in key markets to drive its future growth. Why consider beverage stocks in 2025? In 2024, the beverage sector is positioned as an interesting option for investors due to its resilience and ability to adapt to market trends. In times of economic uncertainty, beverage stocks tend to maintain relative stability, as consumption of these products remains constant. In addition, many of the main companies in the sector have opted to diversify their portfolios, including low- or zero-calorie beverages, alcohol alternatives, and sustainable products that appeal to a broader and more conscious audience. This flexibility and adaptability help companies remain competitive in a market that increasingly values health and sustainability. On the other hand, expansion strategies in international markets and the development of strategic alliances, such as acquisitions of emerging brands or partnerships to innovate products, have given these companies an advantage in their long-term growth. The beverage sector is also benefiting from the boom in energy and functional drinks, as well as the growing demand for premium beverages. More:

7 Essential Tips for Finding a Reliable and High-Quality Shoe Supplier Selecting a dependable supplier for footwear can be challenging, but these seven tips will streamline your search for a trustworthy and capable manufacturer. 1. Official Site Look for manufacturers with a professional website. A legitimate supplier will have an informative and well-organized site, indicating they are serious about their craft. The effort invested in maintaining an online presence often reflects credibility—most Portugal shoes brands with genuine dedication have a robust digital footprint. As Tom Gater, a U.S. merchant with 30 years in the footwear industry, says, “You’ll find plenty of shoe suppliers on Alibaba, but many are brokers, not actual manufacturers. A good trick to spot real ones? Check if they have their own website.” 2. Company Information To understand a company better, explore the “About Us” and “Contact Us” sections of its site. These pages provide insights into the company's background, mission, and transparency. A reputable brand makes it easy to connect with them, which is a hallmark of reliable Portugal shoes brands. 3. Prestigious Partnerships Choosing a supplier who collaborates with well-known shoes brands is often a wise choice. These collaborations indicate the supplier meets high standards and is trusted to deliver premium footwear. They’re also more likely to be innovative, as top brands continually seek ways to improve their products. 4. Product Showcase Reviewing a manufacturer's online catalog can help determine if they offer what you need and present it in a visually appealing and informative way. High-quality product displays and descriptions indicate that the supplier is invested in presenting their Portugues Sneakers or other offerings professionally. This quality showcase aligns with Addvance Studio's commitment to producing only the finest footwear for its clients. https://preview.redd.it/0ikqdpc0v13e1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6165017959f23422baee0703b96d941242c954ac 5. Comprehensive Cost Analysis As German shoe merchant Jack Fischer points out, “It’s not just about the price on the quote—you need the full picture.” Even with slightly higher costs, reliable suppliers prioritize efficiency in communication, timelines, and overall quality, which is why many global brands still source sneakers Portugal from trusted factories. 6. Sample Requests Requesting samples allows you to assess a supplier’s quality and attention to detail firsthand. An example offers a tangible look at the materials, craftsmanship, and overall quality of shoes for men or other designs, ensuring that the manufacturer's capabilities align with your standards. https://preview.redd.it/k73ntck2v13e1.jpg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fa2b9a19292b22505be7e6cc2b748a85e1e80542 7. Factory Visit (If Possible) Whenever feasible, visiting a Portuguese shoes manufacturer’s factory is invaluable. It provides insight into their production methods, quality control, and dedication to premium materials. For those looking to develop long-term partnerships, this visit can affirm that the factory’s practices align with the expectations set by brands like Addvance Studio. https://preview.redd.it/snglxym5v13e1.jpg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df0091ff98d1d82be94ad5ae292387344fda9928 Conclusion: From design to production, each phase is essential for delivering premium footwear. I ovulate on my own and all tests are done except my thyroid came back a little off and I found out I have Hashimotos. I wasn’t medicated until this most recent pregnancy. My husband has not been tested yet as we assumed he wasn’t the problem but now we want him to be checked.
My doctor doesn’t suspect it’s immune related since we never get to a heart beat- he thinks it has something to do with my egg quality. He said next step would be a medicated cycle using Clomid.
I just wonder would my body even accept a pregnancy if I get pregnant on clomid? I just can’t keep going through losses. Anyone with early losses have luck using Clomid or similar medicine before going to IVF?
