I used to be workout-holic (I know it's not the correct term, but I can't think of the right one..) before I injured my shoulder a couple of years ago. I've lost all the muscles I've built for almost a decade, and now I've become a slim guy, even slimmer than my wife. I used to be proud of my healthy body and was addicted to weight training and dieting to make it look better and better. But after losing it all, now I understand it doesn't last forever no matter how hard I work for it, or even worse, working out hard could be more harmful than doing nothing if I get injured. My wfie understands the injury and has never told me to work out or to try to get a nice body with abs like I used to, which made me feel even more relectunt to start working out again.
But yesterday, when we were watching a TV series with buys in good shape, she (accidently, I guess) said she wanted me have a body in good shape, like I used to. I realized that I'd been too lazy, selfish and ignorant during those two years. It was notthat she didn't care about it, but that she was just holding herself back from saying anything that could hurt me, or make me stressed. I've made up my mind to change from now on. All I needed was the motivation, which I got yesterday.

2024.11.25 14:38 Insamiti car stopped accelerating & loud mechanical noise
my boyfriend has a 2016 Mitsubishi Mirage G4, a car he’s had for a bit over 5 years now and has put a decent amount of mileage on. he hasn’t had any significant issues with it and no big replacements he’s had to make, besides maybe replacing a battery last year. today he texted me saying,
“As I was turning into the [workplace] driveway there was a bump of some kind and then my car, while in drive, stopped accelerating and it sounded like a loose bike chain. Luckily my car still braked and I could put it in park so I did and when I put it back in drive everything was fine.
Once I put it back in drive I could accelerate and everything was fine. No noise.
After the bump it sounded weird and i could rev my engine and watch the speedometer go up but my car was not going forward.
It sounded like when a bike chain comes loose and you are trying to pedal but can’t go anywhere and you hear the gears smacking the loose chain.”
i’m not sure what kind of engine he has, and i’m pretty sure he doesn’t know either. all i know is that it’s a 3-cylinder.
he still wants to drive it after he gets off work today but i really don’t think that’s a good idea.

My girlfriend 24f recently broke up with me 32m. The reason she gave was that I was trying to change her.
From my perspective I was just offering suggestions. Nothing was insisted on or given in a heavy handed way. I think couples should support and encourage each other and try to grow together. we were together for 2 years and I might have suggested things like 4-5 times. One was a massive success. She has arthritis and I suggested she see a physical trainer to help with her movement. Her joints caused her pain and most days she would say her pain was a 4-3 on the pain scale. After getting help from a trainer she says her pain is gone and she only feels her joint pain during storms. She was also very anxious and saw a therapist for it. 2 or 3 months ago I suggested we could try practicing anti anxiety techniques and we both could start doing meditation. She got upset and said I was trying to change her. This is where things go down hill in the relationship. She resented the suggestion and told me she didn't like it. I apologized.
However 1 week ago while driving I made another suggestion. I was talking about changes I've had while getting older and how I try not to remember negative things. Like a co-worker being rude to me my goal is to not remember a month or so later unless it's part of a bigger pattern. She has a very good memory for that kind of thing and when she retells things to me it seems like they caused her distress. I know I messed up by suggesting this and I had forgot that 2 or 3 months ago she told me to not suggest things like this to her. this affected her much more than I realized at the time. my ex does not like confrontation and did not bring up that I upset that day. A week later (two nights ago) she calls me late at night and expresses her hurt feelings. I didn't have a clear memory of the car ride. I remember saying that remembering negative treatment could be a double edge sword but not much else. When I tell her I don't remember much about the car ride she says I have broken her heart and starts crying. I try to reassure her over the phone. After an hour I ask if we can continue our conversation the next day because I had to get up for work in 6 hours and we had started going in a circle. She says ok. the next day we are texting like normal and then around 8 she comes over to my place and says we are breaking up. I ask if there is anyway we can work through this and she says no. she says it was because of me not fully remembering what was said in the car ride. (she feels the fact that I could remember means I don't value her.) I also want to add I had taken 2 melatonin gummies and an Advil pm before she called me so my brain was not at 100%. I continued to apologize but my intentions couldn't undo the hurt she felt. she left my place and hasn't contacted me since.
to add extra context 6 weeks ago I suggested we see a couples consoler, for potential problems in the relationship like communication. we haven't had sex in 6 months which is something that can indicate problems in the relationship. It wasn't the lack of sex I was worried about but the underling problem that might be causing us to no longer be intimate. She said this surprised her because she thought everything was going well. I believed her. and on top of that she was pressuring me about our marriage timeline 2 months ago
was anything I described out of the ordinary or wrong? I don't want to have my relationship end and not learn from it.

I just turned 18 but my mom still treats me like a child. She asks me where i am every second of the day when i’m not home, even if i told her I was at uni, when i get home slightly late(9) she spams me with calls asking where I am. She even googles things about my uni and stalks my classmates social media trying to look for photos of me. I know she’s been snooping around my room often and today she found flowers that my bf gave me (she doesn’t know i have a boyfriend) and asked me who they were from. I just want some privacy and geninuely i feel so uncomfortable that she’s looking around. And she keeps yelling at me for buying clothes and makeup (because she’s been snooping) but it’s my own money I earned from my job and I’m saving most of it. Im not spending as much as she thinks. I just go to uni and stay home most of the time, I haven’t done anything remotely bad at all, I dont even drink or go out late. I feel like she should trust me more. Im so sick and tired of her. i know she cares about me and what not but this is way too much that it’s starting to get really obnoxious.
