2024.11.25 16:50 idratherbgardening Help with printing clear/translucent Bambu PETG with supports
A model I print regularly is made of clear PETG. It is about 2 inches high by 2x3 inches so not large. I've tried both the "support for PLA/PETG" material and also regular PLA for the support interface. The low areas that need support (5 mm off the base) work great. The support pieces just pop right off more or less. The high areas that need support are maybe 2 mm from the top of the print. This area is usually a disaster. The PETG appears to melt into the support material somehow or if I use PLA then the layers above the PLA become extremely fragile.
I have been fighting these issues whether I print 1 at a time or 5. It almost feels like I need to print something higher to let the PETG cool down or something weird like that? I honestly don't know.
I'm using stock settings on the filament and using Bambu's suggestions when using the support filament (Top Z distance = 0, interface pattern = Rectilinear Interlaced, Top interface spacing 0).
Does anyone have suggestions for changing any settings and have experience printing translucent PETG with supports (which seems trickier than regular PETG)?

Hi, I’m helping my 74-year-old retired Mum manage her £216k cash deposits, all currently with one bank. She’s only interested in cash ISAs or high-interest savings accounts (no S&S). Mum is a widow and her monthly income is approx x2.0 her monthly spend.
Her current ISA (£80k) is in a 1-year fix, which I plan to renew. I’ll move the remaining £136k across two other banks to stay within the £85k FSCS limit—placing it in a high-interest savings account and drip-feeding £20k/year into new ISAs.
Should I stagger the new ISAs (e.g., 1-year fixes) to have one maturing every four months? Eventually, Mum will need to decide how much to keep in an easy-access account.
Anything else I should consider?
