2024.11.25 22:29 Proxy-Pie Changes from the OG Anime you liked?
I was recently re-reading the Turn back the pendulum arc. Chapter -99 in particular has Shinji face off against Aizen. For some reason I always thought the anime perfectly adapted this part, but in reality the anime had added additional scenes for Shinji mid-hollowfication, right after Tosen slashes Hiyori.
In the added scenes, Shinji fights Tosen and shows his thoughts as his hollowfication intensified. I really liked how they portrayed the mental effect of hollowfication, as well as his gradual increase in power, foreshadowing the potential usefulness of the hollow mask (or is it... backshadowing? Is that a thing? lol).
It got me thinking, most people her (me included) give the OG anime crap for some liberal changes it made especially during the first arc. But there's bound to be some good things like this scene. For the folks who saw both, what were some changes you liked?
Specifically, I'm talking about "in-context" changes like this one, not the major filler arcs/episodes and such.

There is a big difference between where I teach and Compton. And there's no one size fits all to fixing the woes in education. But after my 15 years of teaching you get to see how the sausage is made and how the ingredients change. The low pay, the low respect, the everybody passes edict, teachers needing to be more responsible for students than parents, many stats that are reported to the state are based upon number of incidents not taking into account repeat offenders at all. All of these and a litany more is why education sucks. But my number one reason...
Newspaper and magazine rankings. The better you rank the higher your house value, the better administrators look. And what do they rank? How many students enroll in the AP class, how many violent incidences are reported, what percentage of the kids at grade level advance to the next grade level, percentage of incoming seniors that graduate at the end of the year. Everything is done to make the school look better on the outside than it is on the inside. The numbers are played with and it's a scam! Hence everybody graduates and it is very hard to expel the student and punishments are kept to a minimum so they don't need to be reported. That's just my two cents.
Big shout out to all you teachers that teach in low income districts! I know the problems that I face where I am, and I don't think I can handle what you go with day in and day out. Thank you guys for being amazing!
