2024.11.26 00:20 PunkNDonuts_ Monitor Arm Struggles

So I bought a Kamvas 24 Plus, I used the tilting stand for a bit, and then I bought a monitor arm. Things were good for a while, but I changed my desk setup and now, instead of having a single monitor on an arm with quite a bit of clearance beneath it, I have an LG C4 on a stand (like that "gouge-made" plywood product).
The problem is - it seems all monitor arms have quite a high clearance. There's the part that connects to the desk, then the "primary" portion of the arm that connects to that, and finally the "secondary" portion that connects on top of that - and ultimately to the display. I think my previous arm required something like 8.5" of clearance at it's highest point.
I was wondering if anyone knew of anything more low-profile, that would function more like the Elgato Wave LP mic arm so I could move the display around the desk, and still have a pivoting head at the end, but with less verticality so that it would ultimately still fit under the clearance of the monitor shelf.
I don't want to put a hole in my desk to mount something mid-way, though that is really the only other solution I've thought of.

I’m on day 7 of trying to make starter. It gave me a false rise on day 3 and I ended up not feeding it yesterday and haven’t yet fed it today because it still seems thick/not as liquidy as other times and was afraid I was over feeding it. Today there’s more bubbles. I also put her in my pantry yesterday cause it’s slightly warmer than the counter. I guess my question is should I feed it tonight since it has little bubbles? Stir it? Pray to the dough gods? Someone help me 😅

My mom (F66 approx 5'6 130lbs) has just received an abnormal result of <10 U/L (reference range 16-85) with a note "Note: Drugs targeting the Renin-Angiotensin system confound interpretation of ACE in relation to Sarcoidosis"
Can anyone help me with this? I just cannot comprehend what this means. I'm googling it but it's like a foreign language to me.
I'm unsure if there is cause for concern? Her doctor has made a follow up appointment with her but this wont be until the new year (lack of doctors etc)

After HOURS of struggling, I completed a request which was my very first Multiple Character bot. Compared to the past when I did Orion Pax and D-16 from Transformers One separately, this time these two mining dorks are on the same bot. Takes place in the train scene in the beginning of the movie, with Orion falling out of the crate to pick up its contents with D-16. User, a fellow miner, picks up a tool they missed in the clean up and gives it back to them, meeting Orion and Dee for the first time and vise versa. Am I totally satisfied with the result? Not entirely. I think I'll stick to single character bots unless I'm requested to do otherwise.

I converted to Christianity as an adult. I've been attending a small, very conservative Presbyterian church, where my wife and I were baptized several years ago. We've made friends in the congregation and we really feel part of the community here. However, my serious interest in theology and church doctrine has led me to disagree with multiple tenets of Presbyterianism, and I'm sure that this will lead me to switch denominations in the future.
I sincerely am connected to this particular congregation, but I feel the necessity to raise my family within a church that I can stand behind wholeheartedly. I wouldn't mind continuing to attend this church's services while also disagreeing about certain doctrines, but this issue has come to a head with my wife's pregnancy; we're now expecting our first child. Another child was baptized into the church recently, and at the ceremony our pastor asked the father if he promised to raise his family in Christ, in accordance with the Bible and "in accordance with this church's creeds and catechisms." Since I have explicit misgivings with this church's catechism, I cannot make such a promise.
How do I navigate this and find the best course of action for my family? I would hate to leave all the friends and history we've made here and try to fit into a new community all from scratch again. They've been very generous to us, and I feel truly in debt to them. I've been meaning to talk to the pastor about all this but I'm not sure exactly how to approach such a deep issue.
