I'm really worried about something that happened during my Express Entry medical exam. I have my ITA but haven't submitted the application yet.
During the exam, when asked about medications I had declared, I explained they were for mental health reasons. I mentioned being stable and that my previous doctor had suggested tapering off, but I've had challenges finding a new doctor after moving cities.
The doctor asked for previous medical reports. I explained the initial records were from my home country (likely inaccessible), but I had a Canadian specialist's report which I shared partially during the appointment and sent completely afterwards.
Here's my concern: When asked about psycharatric hospitalization history, I initially said no because I got anxious in the moment. However, I then corrected myself and mentioned a brief hospital stay, though I didn't share all details. The complete truth (which is in the report I sent) includes some additional significant medical treatments during that stay and a previous suicide attempt.
Even though I corrected the hospitalization information during the appointment and apologized for any misunderstanding, I'm worried because:
- The full details are in the medical report I've now sent
- I didn't verbally mention some significant treatments during the exam
- I'm concerned this could be seen as misrepresentation or false information
- Also worried if this hospitalization could even affect my medical examination

2024.11.26 00:20 mr_spock9 How did I do for my first ski purchase? Salomon Stance 84s
After going down the rabbit hole of online ski research, I finally bit the bullet and bought these skis today. I was considering a few others (Maverick 86C, Mindbender 85, Rossignol Experience) w demo bindings or w/o, but knowing the Salomon brand and seeing great reviews for these skis had me sold. I also was in between getting non-metal vs metal skis, reading all differing opinions on whether my skill level needs a 'Ti' ski, and if just a carbon/wood ski would be enough. I heard from someone saying one layer of metal is the sweet spot- well, I saw these skis have that and also read these are still playful & light enough to provide a good balance.
On width as well- I have skied the typical narrow rentals my whole life, so going 90+ wide just seemed unnecessary and too clunky for me and my typical usage (mostly groomers) despite a lot of models going into that range. I think i will be perfectly happy with these skis.
I have not gotten boots or bindings yet- If anyone has suggestions for bindings for these skis that would be great.

 | I replaced the flimsy folding stock on my Spear LT with the folding tube adapter from Sig so I can use Magpul stocks. In order to keep the folding mechanism from doing its job, I used 5 retaining rings (c-type clips)from McMaster-Carr to fill the gap in the hinge pin . Now it doesn’t fold and I need to use a tool to remove these clips. Is this good enough for the DOJ overlords?  | I rarely leave reviews but this series is amazing and deserves to be recognized for it! The author masters the "fake it till you make it" character. MC is a badass and doesn't even realize it. The voice actor is also amazing. It is among my favorite series of all time in an over 800 book library! My only regret is that I didn't listen sooner! If you're interested the next audio book is being released on December 3rd. Fair warning. Its definitely litrpg extra light. The war on the front rages on as the stalemate shatters. A full-frontal assault led to the collapse of Warden lines, but the offensive soon stagnated around Lochan and White Chapel. Mounting casualties and the high toll on resources forced high command to halt further advances.
Both sides suffered devastating losses. The lack of fresh manpower caused desertions and hospitalizations among the shell-shocked survivors. Relentless artillery barrages, referred to by some troopers as a “blue wave,” smashed through defensive positions from two directions. The sudden collapse of the frontline disrupted supply chains and communication. Many convoys and vehicles were either captured or destroyed by the enemy.
A desperate counteroffensive of 400 men to break the encirclement resulted in a brutal defeat—350 were killed or wounded after eight hours of intense fighting.
The fall of The Precession shattered morale. The high casualty toll made its loss a turning point. Within just four days, “The Latch” was seized, with defenders forced out by combined arms assaults. Over 5,000 soldiers from both sides were killed, and an additional 2,000 were wounded. Hospitals became targets as residential buildings turned into fortified strongholds.
The advance seemed unstoppable. A three-freighter convoy from Patricia Seaport delivered food, weapons, and fresh vehicles to the frontlines, boosting morale with reinforcements and new anti-armor capabilities. Yet the advance of the “blue menace” was finally halted at a northern base nicknamed Callahan’s Gate—ironically, it became an unbreakable defense.
Long-range artillery, positioned near a Warden outpost, hammered the frontline. Fresh artillery counterfire, guided by spotters from the First Colonial Marine Division and the “Swords of Maro,” forced the enemy to retreat, destroying multiple enemy emplacements in the process.
A withering barrage paved the way for a concentrated assault, wiping out the opposition to the last man and driving them into retreat. Colonial infantry, under direct orders, pushed vehicles forward to divert enemy fire from their push guns and armored units. These maneuvers exposed weaknesses in the enemy’s forward defenses, which were swiftly exploited in the counterattack.
In the days ahead, the Colonial forces may retake lost ground—or be driven back by superior enemy equipment and armor.

2024.11.26 00:20 wp254 Monitor suddenly turned off. Will work for 10 seconds if replugged in, then stop again
This is an old old VGA monitor, that is currently ran through a VGA to displayport adapter (ya, real set up here) to my video card. Has always worked, zero issues. Suddenly a few minutes ago, that screen went off. The green light on it is still on, but no visual. It is also still detected by my PC.
When I disconnect it from my video card and reconnect, the screen turns back on again working like normal, but only for 10-15 seconds, then turns off again. When the screen is off, I can even drag windows to it from my main monitor, just can't see them. Any idea what this could be about? I'm at a loss as to what to do.

Last night, the dishwasher made some loud popping noises mid-cycle, and a breaker tripped at the box outside the house.
After resetting the breaker and running the dishwasher again, a louder grinding noise ensued and smoke started coming from somewhere inside it.
After unplugging the dishwasher and resetting the breaker a second time, the breaker hasn’t tripped since.
Is it safe to assume a malfunction with the dishwasher is the most likely culprit? I ask because I recently had to deal with mice in my garage and worry about them having chewed electrical wiring someplace. No sign of mice in the house at all, but I set some traps under the sink just to see.
