I don’t like the house we are buying…
I had a dream. We had a dream. I wanted the wrap around porch, long driveway, a wood burning fireplace, and at least 1acre. instead we are settling for a 1970s, 2,200sqft ,4 bed 2.5 bath ranch house that sits on 1/2 acre and has none of the things I wanted. I don’t even get a porch. It’s not a bad home. Definitely needs things done to it inside and it’s spacious but it’s just not what I wanted. I see it makes my husband and kids happy and its located on the nice part of town and has a great school district! The only reason I’m just going along with it is because we just moved to this state after my husband exited the military and my kids are being bullied and we did not know we would be dealing with racism in my children’s school. My kids want out and I want out of this side of town ASAP and I’m pulling my kids out of the school. We had no clue that we moved to the bad side till we got here and realized how bad it was. We found a house in a great neighborhood and not far from my husbands job, everything went through smoothly with the VA loan and our mortgage will be $2,000 even. Sounds great but I’m just so bummed that it’s not what I wanted and this is supposed to be THE home after moving so he much in the military. I don’t want to move anymoreb. and a new home was supposed to be my Christmas gift 😔

TLDR: I need your help running Pokemon TCG auctions on Reddit like this one. Read below for details.
After spending a few years buying and selling sealed Pokemon products online, I ended up having the same complaint that everyone else had: It's waaaayyy too expensive. There are marketplace fees, payment processing fees, listing fees, shipping fees, etc. Then I discovered the magic of social commerce ( is a very good example). Places like that are where you can escape the fees, avoid most scams, and trade directly with your fellow collectors in an authentic way.
Fast forward to today, and I finally decided to do something about it. Reddit recently announced the ability to make custom post experiences on their Developer Platform and then it hit me, what if I could create a custom post type that would make it incredibly easy for people to run auctions on Reddit? And so that's what I did.
I just reached a point where the custom post type is ready for beta testing and I'd love for 10 or 20 people to help test the custom post type with REAL auctions. Everyone who's based in the US who helps me beta test will get a free build and battle kit just for bidding or creating an auction and giving me feedback.
If you'd like to help me test things and get an early opportunity to check out the custom post, then:
- DM me to express your interest. I'll choose 10-20 active community members to participate in the beta test before opening the floodgates to everyone. Spots are very limited.
- Join the community Discord server for real-time support and Q&A. You can also choose to post in the subreddit if you're selected to participate.
- The beta test will end on Dec 10, 2024. I'll send out a form for feedback at that point and mail out the build & battle kits to the US-based beta participants that leave feedback.

He is a highly self-motivated learner, curious, autistic, and we feel that the traditional school system would not be able to accommodate his needs. We live in a small city in Japan where homeschooling is unheard of, so we're basically doing this by ourselves. I'm very interested in providing an outdoor education based on rewilding - learning primitive skills together while being immersed in nature. I was wondering if anyone is aware of resources for doing this in an appropriate, fun, and engaging way for a six year old? We live in an urban environment but with easy access to local forests.
