A few months ago my neurologist found something behind my left eye. I went to a neurosurgeon and he said it was an osteoma and not to worry unless it starts to cause problems with my vision or pain. At my yearly ophthalmologist appointment I mentioned this and they said I had damage to my optic nerve. I see a neuro ophthalmologist in a few weeks to assess the damage but it had me thinking if what the neurosurgeon saw could really be an osteoma. I’ve started to have pain around my eye and my headaches are localized to the area so I know something is starting to affect me. I’m just not sure if I’m freaking myself out or what

With most addictions, the issue is that the habit harms your health or has serious social or economic consequences, right? Alcoholism or drug addiction will kill you eventually, a bad gambling addiction will lead to financial problems, etc. But porn is different. It does not harm your health, does not cause death and does not generally lead to financial problems (unless you get scammed or use it as a gateway into paying for sex I suppose). It doesn't even have social consequences since it is watched in private/secret. You can be a porn "addict" and still have close relationships with friends and family who will never know or care about your love of porn.
The only negative consequence of watching a lot of porn is that it makes sexual/romantic relationships difficult. But other than that, you could lead a happy, healthy and fulfilled life as a single man with a career, hobbies and friends & family. This is obviously not true of someone with a heroin addiction.
So why do so many men talk about porn as an "addiction"?
Why can't we accept that it can be ok for some men to prefer porn and to choose porn over real women?
I am a woman and I have to admit that most women I've seen in porn are more attractive and a lot more fun/adventurous/interesting than the average woman in real life. I can't blame some men for prefering porn but it isn't very fair to real women for porn-loving men to want us to show them our most vulnerable side (naked, orgasming, etc.) knowing they are going to be disappointed. (Or to be fair, I think some inexperienced men don't even understand real women aren't going to look or act like porn stars so they might not even realize in advance how disappointed they are going to be.)
I think so much hurt could be avoided if men who love porn accepted it and didn't treat it as an addiction to be quit. These men could enjoy getting off as often as they want to very sexy, kinky women and real women could avoid the trauma of being made to feel bad about our bodies and how we express ourselves sexually.
Are there any men out there who have actually accepted that they prefer porn and learned to be ok with it? Why or why not?
IMPORTANT: I recognize and respect there are many men who do not watch porn or who watch it very rarely. This post is specifically about men who have difficulties having sexual interest in real partners because they watch a lot of porn. Nothing in this post is meant to imply all men prefer or even enjoy porn. I know all men are different.

I had my gallbladder removed about 8 weeks ago. I still have swelling/pain and tenderness above my bellybutton, slightly to the right. I can’t wear normal pants still, it hurts to touch the slightest bit. Sometimes I can feel popping, hurts to bend, twist, sleep on my sides. Still can’t wear tight clothes, doesn’t feel so bad when I’m lying flat but it’s very painful when standing, I’m just miserable. I had a CT done 6 days after my surgery due to the amount of swelling, that showed a small umbilical hernia but the surgeon said it’s nothing to worry about. I’ve also had another CT scan since then that just showed worsening swelling above the bellybutton, (no hernia). Has anyone else experienced this? I just feel something isn’t right but the doctor is not listening to me, he referred me to pain management which I declined.

First and foremost: If the SAVE plan gets struck down in court, will the loan that gets created at the end still be eligible for other Income-Driven plans that may be less likely to get taken away? Currently the Parent PLUS loans my mom took out for me cost just under $1000 a month, which is unsustainable for her at this point in time, and the SAVE plan (or any Income-Driven plan for that matter) would lower that very significantly. I help out as much as I can, but I can't afford to cover the entire payment for her.
Then, if they are likely to still be eligible for some kind of IDR plan, I have some questions about my family's situation:
My mom took out some Parent PLUS loans for me when I was in college from 2012-2016. Years ago, before the SAVE plan was really a thing, she consolidated all of the loans that were for me (this was most likely done online, not through a paper application) into one loan, currently serviced by MOHELA. There is one single loan out there that she took out for my brother, currently sitting with Nelnet. My question is, is it still possible to take advantage of the loophole if the consolidated loan was done via online application circa 2018, rather than a paper application more recently? Or is it possible to submit a paper application to just consolidate the loan with itself and have it work the same way (since presumably this is what we will have to do to use the Nelnet loan anyway)?
I am so sorry if this question has already been asked here before, I tried to find some answers but had a hard time finding anything that answers this specific scenario. If there's a post somewhere around here that I missed, please don't hesitate to link it. Thank you all!
