Her birthday is Thursday. She would have been 16. She started grinding her teeth a few days ago… took her to the vet Saturday, sent me home but told me she was anemic and low kidney function in one of her kidneys, said come back if she wasn’t feeling well. She declined fast, pale gums, wouldn’t move, etc. Went to the ER this morning, she had fluid in her chest and abdomen. There was nothing they could do. I lost my baby. Midnight is gone, she’s gone and I don’t know what to do. She was my best friend, my whole world. I adopted her at 10, had her for almost 6 years. It would’ve been 6 years in December. I feel so empty and numb and I know she was a cat, I know but I feel like a piece of me is gone, I feel like something inside of me died when she died. She kept me alive during my darkest times. I don’t know what to do without her. I can’t stop crying, I can’t stop thinking about her coming into my room, coming onto my bed. I can’t stop beating myself up, she showed no signs other than the teeth grinding and a change in her meow, but that was this past weekend. But what if I could’ve done more? What if I took her sooner? Would she have had a chance? I know she was 16, I know she was old and she likely wouldn’t have made it though chemo or any of that and it wasn’t right to make her suffer for a few months for my sake. I’m angry at myself. I am a little angry at her. She was so good at hiding her pain. I wish she wasn’t, but I know it wasn’t her fault, I know that’s what cats do. I just wish I could have fixed her. I wish I could’ve brought her home. I wish she would’ve died peacefully in her sleep when she was 20. I wish I had more time with her.

It seems that even as an adult, long term and consistant psychiatric drug use especially on higher dose for over the years can permanently damage your cognitive and other types of brain functions, personality and iq, even after recovering for years, meaning it never returns to the original baseline, even with "Neuro plasticity". I can only assmue taking psychiatric drugs as a child during adolescent will cause even more altering effects that are more permanent since it was during the structured development of the brain. I have not actually heard of someone fully return to baseline from taking these drugs during the entirety of adolescents like me since 11 to 18, even after many years of neural plasticity. many psychiatrist and related individuals use this term as it seems that our brain can just change and alter everything that has happend, It's true that our neurons make neuron connections, but unlike street drugs, we take psychitaric drugs more less consistantly according to doctors and updose when "needed", so the neuronal connections aren't just deactivated, but turned into autophagy, a break down process into molecules. and we can't really say if they can be fully brought back to 100% even as an adult, especially if it's years of use. imagine taking them as a child, it might also altered the brain structure during development that were never studied because it's anti psychiatry like all the other studies that were never published or studied. So no, recovery isn't always guaranteed, especially for those who took them for a long time during adolescence. Because it's might not be just changes in neurochemistry but also your brain structure If it was during adolescence when we are developing our brain. If that is true, permanent cognitive function damage, personality changes, IQ loss, and all the potential dangers of overinhibiting and stimulating the brain can be real.full recovery isn't always possible.

2024.11.26 04:30 Allgyet560 2000 Honda 5000W. When my well pump kicks on it surges and starts making a rattling noise for almost 10 seconds. Should I be worried?
The surge starts at about 17 seconds.
I took this video last year during a power outage. I'm getting ready for winter and don't want to wait if I need to fix something. I never noticed this before but I use it so infrequently that I'm not sure how long it has been happening, or if it's normal. I had the pump replaced last year before I recorded this.
I'm not using close to 5000W of electricity. Other than the well pump I'm just running lights. When it surges the lights dim slightly for a second.
Other than that it runs like a top and starts on two or three pulls every time.

Time for another animal profile for Prometheus. It's another ventrochordate but from a different class, the polyarthrans. It's an interesting hunter called a manticore and you'll quickly see why.
Manticore Manticora (‘manticore’)
Species: M. australis, M. boreois
Family: Thermovenatidae Order: Psuedolacerta Class: Polyarthra
Size: 1.4-2.8 metres long Diet: active hunter Activity: cathemeral
Habitat: tropical forest
The manticore is a large predatory reptile-like polyarthran which brandishes a set of four fierce tail spikes similar to those once found on the extinct Earth stegosaurs. However, unlike the stegosaurs, it uses this weapon not just for defence but also to help hunt and kill large prey, giving the manticore a reminiscence of the fantastical monster. Whipping its long spiked tail at its victim, the manticore wounds and cripples them so they cannot run away and have difficulty fighting back while it moves in for the kill with a crushing bite from its powerful brachiognaths.
Manticores have a long body with robust semi-sprawled legs. They are usually slow moving, conserving energy while they creep through the undergrowth looking for prey, but they attack in a burst of speed. As well as their tail spikes, manticores have strong claws which make them capable climbers and diggers, which allows them to pursue prey even when they are hiding in relative safety up a tree or down a burrow.
Manticores are aggressive towards any potential threat and fiercely protect their territories. As a warning before they strike, manticore turn their bodies side facing their target, head turned to keep their eyes trained and spiked tail pointed towards their opponent, the manticore makes a shrieking noise with its spiracles in an attempt at intimidation.
In order to track their prey, manticores and other thermovenatids have a set of sensory pits along the side of their brachiognaths which can detect the infrared heat of prey like a pit viper, especially more metabolically active prey like plumathrixes. This is particularly useful when hunting in the dark of the forest floor and during the night, allowing the manticore to prowl regularly throughout the long cycle of Promethean days.
Manticores sexually differentiate into males and females at a late age as they gradually grow and mature at a relatively steady rate. During the breeding season, males develop bright blue scales along the top of their cephalothorax and brachiognaths to attract the attention of females. When females arrive, they perform a display by holding their tails high in the air and gently waving it to show off the size and good condition of their tail spikes and the strength it takes to maintain this posture.
The females give birth to live young which develop from shell-less internalised eggs, but when the young are born they are still quite small so will follow their mother around closely, often riding on their back for safety, until they are large enough to fend for themselves.

Please let me know if my question is inappropriate; for those who have considered egg/sperm donors, how would you deal with this; As my age& retrievals do not go very well, i am now thinking of egg donation options, so my fear is when the child is grown up should we tell hehim about this? I see many ppl do genetic tests like Ancestry DNA kits & they find later that they have others siblings, parent & etc. I do not know the answer for this that if this happens how we should be prepared for & how it might affect their lives in the future.
