2024.11.26 04:20 Imaginary_Agent2564 Mom has an appointment to check for cancer on Thanksgiving and my anxiety is rising by the day.
Mom is relatively young (mid forties) and was recently told to go to her primary doctor asap to have her thyroid checked because it is swollen. She’s not in the best health, smokes too, and this has me outstandingly worried. She hasn’t felt “well” for months now. Always tired and her voice has gotten raspier within these past few months, although I chalked this up to the cigarettes. All I can think is that she’s gonna be diagnosed with cancer, rather than something like hypothyroidism/hyperthyroidism. We have history of cancer in the family (almost everyone dies of it), but no thyroid disease, so clearly my anxiety is feeding off of a real threat, not just imagination. I’m just so scared.
My anxiety is off the rails. Constant nausea, pain in chest, panic attacks left and right, sobbing, and shakiness. We are in the middle of moving, therapist not able to get me in until 2 weeks from now, it’s about to be finals week (college has me at my limit already), Mom’s birthday is immediately after Thanksgiving, and now this. When it rains, it pours, right?
I’m really struggling, parents. Any advice or tips to get through this hell of a season? Feels like the bad version of waiting for Santa to come as a kid.

Unfortunately, the position that they had me in for three hours (like a pap smear) left my already injured knee in excruciating pain. I'd be doing great if it weren't for my knee pain! I just want to vent this to somebody. I’m working night shift.
It has taken a toll on me. I started on day shift and got moved to night shift 3 months in. Let’s say it has gotten me to the point I go to my car multiple times in a night just to smoke weed. I’m doing it in the line of sight of the camera. Genuinely don’t care. The schedule is 8pm to 830am.
I’m done ruining my health over expectations. The job is fine when I have my way with it. I’m thinking ahead and simply not living check to check just in case. I basically have to make it to December so I can get my bonus and actively start accepting interviews.
If you’re working night shift and you feel stuck, I feel you. It is not worth it at all in my opinion.

Hey everyone. So after lurking in this awesome community for a while I've decided to start my own collection. Over the past couple of months I shopped the azmeteorites EBay store and collected a few of my own. I was wondering if any of you had any ideas of ways to display my collection better. I live by the beach so for now Im keeping them in the baggies the seller sent them in because they are already labeled and to prevent the irons from rusting. I would like to mount something on my wall that would fit all of them and look nice, keep them protected from the moisture in the air as best as I can and have the option to open it if possible. I did see the Riker cases but wondered if there were any other choices. Eventually I think I'm going to get a couple of bigger specimens once I know I can take care of these. I really appreciate all the input and suggestions you give me. So far everything I saw out there hitting all of my wishes may be a bit hard to accomplish.

I know this sounds stupid with Android Auto etc, but I like to have my music take up the whole screen, and would prefer to mount a GPS so it can operate on full screen and give live traffic.
Could probably mount an old phone but something with a better screen would be good. Is there a Google maps GPS device?
Am I crazy? Does this exist? Or is this a case of shut up and just use Android Auto like a normal person...

There were more falling things so I rushed out of the nursery. Soon after the nursery was crushed. I swam away quickly. I don’t know what crushed my home, but I do know that no other squid made it out. I searched for hours to find another squid that happened to have escaped the rubble, but found nothing. I need to find a place to work. If a furnace finds this, I’d gladly work for you in exchange for food and hunting advice. I did not learn how to hunt for my teachers were crushed. Anyone with an abundance of fish and open water, please respond to this transmission! I have many tentacles so that might be helpful!
