Há dias em que a saudade nos invade, seja de alguém que partiu ou de alguém que está longe. A ausência pesa, e o coração fica pequeno com a lembrança de momentos que não voltam. Também há momentos de incerteza, quando olhamos para o caminho que escolhemos e nos perguntamos se estamos no lugar certo, se seguimos os sonhos que realmente importavam. Mas, ao mesmo tempo, sentimos medo de começar de novo, de nos permitir errar e recomeçar. E, em meio a tudo isso, vem a sensação de não sermos bons o suficiente — não como amigos, filhos, ou até como pessoas. Parece que sempre há algo faltando, algo que poderíamos fazer melhor. Então, vem o medo: medo de nunca melhorar, de nunca alcançar a maturidade ou a força que tanto admiramos em outras pessoas. É fácil se perder em pensamentos assim, deixando a sensação de inadequação tomar conta. Mas talvez a maior verdade sobre tudo isso seja que, por mais que a gente tente entender ou explicar, essas emoções fazem parte de quem somos. Às vezes, as perguntas ficam sem resposta, e a incerteza não desaparece. Só resta viver com isso, dia após dia, tentando compreender um pouco mais do que sentimos.

I hope this is allowed. We are expecting our first baby. We do not share finances. I make almost double what my partner makes, so even on a long leave I will be the higher earner. Baby gets an allowance from the gov. But is is quite small. Our current arrangements when it comes to bills will stay the same.
I am thinking a savings account where we both put the same amount each month no matter the expenses and then a credit card to make it easier to track expensive stuff like all the gear needed, diapers, clothes and vacations and pay 50/50 for that. While we might use the amount in the account, I think this will make it more transparent.
For those with separate finances, how do you split children's expenses? Any lessons learned?

I'm 13 and have a twin. My parents are very old. My mom(54) and my dad (62)only have me and my twin as actual kids. I have 4 older half-siblings(all on my mom's side), but my sister (21) is closer than some of the others. My dad honestly hates most of my siblings except for my sister, who usually takes care of us. My twin had been sick for a while(3 weeks) now, and she couldn't breathe very well for a couple of days. I had asked my parents if they could take us to the hospital as I thought it was serious, but they dismissed it, saying, "She just needs to take her medicine." I told them it wasn't helping, and she was getting worse, but they said they wouldn't take her. I texted my sister(she doesn’t live with us anymore) and asked her what I should do. She said she was gonna take us to the hospital and not tell our parents. I snuck out with my twin, and we left for the hospital. They gave my twin a breathalyzer and prescribed her some medicine. My mom didn't even notice we left until my sister called her. When she picked us up, she was so mad. I didn't want to say anything, but she asked me, "Do you think you did the right thing?" I didn't say anything for a bit, but then I answered that I just wanted my twin to get some help. She lectured us all the way home. When I got home, my dad gave me the silent treatment, but as soon as I went into my room(it's connected to theirs), I heard my mom and dad arguing about what they should do or say. My mom still believes I'm in the wrong, but I don't know, so, am I in the wrong?

Looking for a buyer's agent in Vancouver BC. I know the market well enough, how to search comps, how to read strata documents, how to book showings, but don't care about any market/interest rate predictions. To me a good buyer's agent can find a good deal that meets our needs, has extensive knowledge about the area, future development, zoning, pitfalls, property/strata specific issues, response promptly during office hours and crucial moments, reasonable customer service.
But the whole compensation structure is really misaligned. Most/all agents are paid at the transaction, why would they want to negotiate with my interest at heart when it could lose them the deal? Why would they put in the subject for me that could jeopardize the deal? I suppose there is the code of ethics (haha). There is also the reputation thing, maybe someone near during their peak career earnings would care a lot about protecting their reputation.
Why does a new realtor and a 20 year experienced one that is the top 0.1% producer get paid the same when they close the deal? I don't mind a new realtor if the fee they take is substantially lower as they are mostly just the transaction coordinator.
DIY could be an option but it is easy to miss some crucial factors. Most DIYers don't even know they made a mistake after they bought a place and I am self-aware enough to know that.
So far I have these interview questions in mind
1) Which area/property type/price range is your expertise? (no I didn’t tell you what I am looking for yet, and you will be the one if you said a very niche answer and it matches my target exactly)
2) how many deals have you closed in the last 3 years? Your deal or part of a team?
3) how would you address the compensation misalignment?
Any thoughts? Any realtors want to try to answer my 3 questions?
