2024.11.26 06:39 OkEstablishment942 SQUATZ Apollo Board (the space-saving smart gym that surprised this skeptical home fitness junkie)

SQUATZ Apollo Board (the space-saving smart gym that surprised this skeptical home fitness junkie) After my recent move to a smaller place, I had to get creative with my workout setup. After weeks of research into compact home gym solutions and portable exercise equipment, I took a chance on the SQUATZ Apollo Board. Six months in, and I've got some detailed thoughts to share about this cable resistance system that might help others considering the switch from traditional home gym equipment.
For context: I've been building my home gym for years (previously had a power rack, adjustable dumbbells, the works). Moving from a garage gym to a city apartment meant I needed something that could deliver similar results in a fraction of the space. At first, I thought a resistance board system would feel like a massive downgrade - spoiler alert: I was wrong about a lot of things.
how it looks
Initial Setup & Build Quality: First impressions matter, and the Apollo Board delivers. The unboxing experience was solid - everything arrived well-packaged and the assembly was surprisingly straightforward (took about 30 minutes solo). The build quality impressed me immediately:
  • The metal frame feels substantial
  • Cable mechanism is smooth right out of the box
  • The board itself is sturdy when mounted (important for heavier loads)
  • Attachment points feel secure and well-engineered
Space & Storage Reality: Let's talk dimensions because this was huge for me:
  • Mounted: 23" x 47.4" x 7.6"
  • Takes up minimal wall space when folded
  • Storage is legitimately easy with the center handle
  • Can actually fit behind my door when not in use
Real World Usage Experience:
Resistance System:
  • Genuine 4-265 lbs range (I've tested extensively)
  • Resistance feels smooth and natural, not jerky like some cable machines
  • Weight transitions are quick and precise
  • The progressive resistance curve feels more like free weights than I expected
Training Modes & Versatility:
  1. Standard Mode:
  • Perfect for traditional strength training
  • Resistance feels consistent and predictable
  • Great for basic compound movements
  1. Eccentric Mode:
  • Game-changer for muscle growth
  • Really feel the negative portion of movements
  • Helped break through several plateaus
  1. Variable Mode:
  • Excellent for explosive movements
  • Great for athletic training
  • Adds variety to standard exercises
Attachment System:
  • Handles are comfortable and durable
  • Ankle straps work well for leg exercises
  • Waist belt is decent but I upgraded mine
  • Quick-change system is genuinely quick
The App Experience (FITZ by SQUATZ):
  • Clean interface, intuitive navigation
  • Auto-logging actually works consistently
  • Good variety of free workouts
  • No subscription needed (huge plus)
  • Exercise library is comprehensive
  • Could use more advanced programming options
Real Results After 6 Months:
Strength Maintenance:
  • Maintained about 90% of my previous numbers
  • Some exercises actually improved (especially pulling movements)
  • Core strength has notably increased
Muscle Mass:
  • No significant loss transitioning from traditional weights
  • Better mind-muscle connection with some movements
  • More consistent training due to convenience
Workout Efficiency:
  • Complete workouts in 45 minutes
  • Quick transitions between exercises
  • Easy supersets and circuit training
The Not-So-Great Stuff (Keeping It Real):
Minor Issues:
  • Initial cable break-in period needed
  • Some exercises require creativity to replicate
  • Maximum resistance might not be enough for elite lifters
  • App occasionally needs force-closing to refresh
Bigger Concerns:
  • Wall mounting needs to be rock solid
  • Some movements feel slightly different from free weights
  • Limited exercise variety for legs compared to a full rack
Price Perspective: At around the price point of a mid-range power rack setup, but considering:
  • Space savings is massive
  • No additional weight plates needed
  • Built-in technology and tracking
  • Versatility of movements
  • The "all-in-one" factor really delivers
Daily Training Reality: Morning Routine:
  • Quick warm-up sets
  • Easy resistance adjustments
  • No noise complaints from neighbors
  • Perfect for supersets
Evening Sessions:
  • Easy to squeeze in after work
  • Great for drop sets
  • Minimal setup time needed
Maintenance & Durability: After 6 months of daily use:
  • Cables still smooth and tight
  • No electronic issues
  • Minimal maintenance needed
  • Just occasional wipe-downs
Bottom line: The SQUATZ Apollo Board has legitimately changed my perspective on home fitness equipment. If you're space-constrained but serious about training, this smart cable system delivers way more than I expected. Perfect for apartment dwellers, busy professionals, or anyone wanting a complete gym solution without dedicating an entire room to equipment.
Pro Tips:
  • Install a mirror nearby if possible
  • Consider grip training accessories
  • Get creative with attachment positions
  • Use the app's exercise library for inspiration
Happy to answer specific questions about transitions from traditional equipment, space requirements, or any other aspects of daily use with this system. I've logged over 100 workouts on it and tracked everything pretty meticulously.

2024.11.26 06:39 LarryDavidShrug1994 TLC’s Drama Machine Is Out of Control, But Shekinah Just Won the Internet

TLC’s Drama Machine Is Out of Control, But Shekinah Just Won the Internet TL;DR: TLC is getting desperate with its manufactured drama, like Shaun digging up Sarper’s exes to stir trouble in a healthy relationship. Shaun’s disrespect toward Shekinah was next-level, but Shekinah handled it like a poised, filler-lipped goddess. TLC’s blatant attempts to crank up the drama are so over-the-top, it’s almost insulting to the audience at this point.
Shaun pulling up messages from Sarper’s exes to stir the pot was unnecessary—like, who doesn’t have a past or a less-than-perfect “hoe phase”? It felt like she was grasping at straws to create tension in what’s actually one of the healthier relationships we’ve seen on this show.
And the way Shaun came at Shekinah? Flat-out disrespectful, woman to woman. But damn, Shekinah handled it like an absolute queen. The way she calmly and eloquently clapped back, without losing her cool, was next-level. She’s basically the Princess Diana of the filler-lipped generation, and she made the entire 90 Day production look weak in comparison.
Between what we’ve learned about cast treatment and the mess we saw tonight, I wouldn’t be surprised if more behind-the-scenes dirt surfaces. What started as a wholesome show about love and the K-1 visa process has turned into a money-hungry circus exploiting vulnerable people for ratings.
That said… I’ll absolutely keep watching because, wow, it’s still amazing TV. Shame on them, but also, here’s my popcorn.

2024.11.26 06:39 shadowlarx National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989) Clark W. Griswold (Chevy Chase), described by some as “the last true family man”, has only two goals this holiday season: have a good old fashioned Christmas with his extended family and use his annual bonus to put an in-ground pool in his backyard. But, in typical Griswold family tradition, things start going wrong almost immediately. Clark, along with his wife Ellen (Beverly D’Angelo), his daughter Audrey (Juliette Lewis) and son Rusty (Johnny Galecki), have to wrestle with and endless series of Christmas mishaps including having to uproot a tree because Clark forgot the chainsaw, Clark’s relentless struggle with the Christmas lights, close quarters because of visiting in-laws and the inevitable arrival of Cousin Eddie (Randy Quaid), who just adds to the madness. As the holidays continue to unravel, Clark, in typical fashion, becomes more and more unhinged until an unwelcome surprise from his boss finally sends Yuletide right over the edge.
Let’s be honest, we’ve all had Christmases like this one on some level or another. We’ve all had to deal with the visiting relatives, the wrestling with decorations and the looming sense that Murphy’s Law would kick in at any moment. That’s probably why so many people relate to this film. We all know exactly how Clark feels having to deal with all of this. This was the last film of the Vacation series to involve Hollywood legend John Hughes (the movie was based on his short story “Christmas ‘59”) or National Lampoon magazine. Chase, D’Angelo and Quaid turned in wonderful performances as they did in previous films. Lewis and Galecki continued the tradition of having a new Audrey and Rusty for each Vacation film. Some other standouts in the cast were the wonderful William Hickey as Clark’s grumpy Uncle Lewis and Brian Doyle-Murray as Clark’s boss, Frank Shirley, plus the lovely Julia Louis-Dreyfus as the Griswolds’ yuppie neighbor Margo.

2024.11.26 06:39 143803 I keep binging while cooking for my partner

My boyfriend and I live together and we used to eat a lot together too. I gained quite a bit of weight so I started counting calories a few months ago. I’ve still been cooking every meal for him (we eat separate meals) but lately I keep snacking on all the ingredients and sometimes even binging on at least half of it. I feel terrible because 1. I binged 2. I make single-serve portions for him so now he has to eat half the amount of dinner because I couldn’t control myself.
For example, today I meal-prepped 2 bowls of curry for him since I’m going to be busy all day tomorrow and the day after. But I just binged on the entire bowl, still cold in the fridge, while he wasn’t looking. I feel so bad.
Maybe it’s because I always cook him whatever I’m craving or the food I like, but even when I make a lower calorie version of it for myself, I still binge on his food. This feels like a lost cause and I feel so bad.

2024.11.26 06:39 Synagoga-Satanae Posted this in the chainsaw man sub like a day ago, what do y’all think?

I know it’s not over yet, and i know he was pretty damn abused in season 1 as well, but this is starting to feel extremely “shock factor-y” and edgy for the sake of it.
He finally managed to move forward and live a normal life after the extremely traumatic events of chapter 1, only to get fucked over by

  1. His fans
  2. His friends
  3. The people who were supposed to protect him
Literally everything he worked towards gets taken away from him. This could not be more painful to read and i seriously don’t understand how people enjoy it.
At this point we’re 183 chapters in and i binged all of them. The significant drop in quality starts with the chainsaw man cult bullshit.
We’ve long crossed the “character development” and entered makima level sadism territory.
Who was this aimed towards? Who was it written for? People who enjoy watching someone suffer to the point where they literally break a contract because they don’t want to live anymore?
The last 50 chapters were literally just a continuous downward spiral with zero payoff, and this can’t be counterbalanced by whatever comes in the next 10 or so chapters until it’s over.

2024.11.26 06:39 Commercial-Coffee908 Feeling Scammed at Salamanca Market

TLDR: Bought something at a Retro & Vintage Shop at Salamanca Market that turned out to be brand new cheap Shein shit that they're reselling. Can't believe the market allows this.
My girlfriend and I went to Salamanca Market last weekend. Given the cost of living crisis and the fact ColesWorth are making everyone's life worse for eye watering profits, we've been trying to support local where can and we're really not into mass-produced shit. We visited a little Retro & Vintage stall claiming to have second hand knits from nanna and I ended up buying my girlfriend a Christmas themed headband thingy from them. We caught up with some mates later who are even more into sustainability than we are and one of them pointed out that the thingy looked pretty mass-produced and to be fair we probably should have worked this out from looking a bit closer. We ended up taking a photo and using Google Lens to search it only to find identical items on Ali Baba and Shein. We wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt cos Shein is known to copy things, but we searched Christmas accessories on Shein and recognised a bunch of this stalls items on there. I think most people could agree that Shein is known for shady practices like ripping off designs, not paying employees a living wage and being shit for the environment. But surely EVERYONE would agree that Shein resellers have no place at Salamanca Market. What's worse is that we looked up the Salamanca stall on Facebook and the lady who runs it is the President of the Stallholders committee for Salamanca. How is shit like this allowed to happen?! I'll be staying away now.
