I feel like I’m the worst for what I’m about to do. Long story short I’d describe my parents as emotionally abusive, with instances where my dad would be physically abusive too. But those instances were a long time ago, and when my therapist reported what I had told them about in my sessions to the police and social services they opened up an investigation which was then closed due to lack of evidence. They put my family into family therapy which was a temporary fix for a while. But at least my dad promised to never lay another finger on me. The last time he got abusive was about a year ago when he threw a wooden chopping board at my mum. I didn’t see it but I heard it, even though they constantly fight my mum has forgiven him for this. Recently I’ve had a lot of argument with the both of them because of my school attendance being low due to IBS. While I don’t enjoy being called insulted and being yelled at, it’s tolerable. A couple days ago, out of the blue, during dinner when my mum was out of town for her work, my dad made a bunch of jokes about abusing me. About how now that I’m 18 it wouldn’t even be child abuse just abuse. He made a joke that he’d hit me, and then backpedaled a bit joking about hitting me with a potato which I can clearly see isn’t a serious threat. He also made some jokes implying that I’m dramatic and sensitive to his previous abuse and that I’ll label anything bad he does abuse. When I was 13-14 he literally gut-punched me for being ‘annoying’. Anyways because he has been abusive towards me beforehand those didn’t feel like just jokes and I got really scared. I reached out for help from my friends and I’m going to be staying with a couple different friends. The first friend I’ll be with for 1-2 weeks and they live in a completely different country (I’ve been there many times before). This is because my parents know most of my nearby friend’s addresses/phone numbers and I’m scared they’ll not only come looking for me but also harass me. I am planning on leaving a note explaining I love them and I’m safe. I just feel bad, because stuff isn’t always bad or unsafe at home. There are a lot of days where everything is normal and fine. But when it gets bad, it gets bad. I’m also leaving behind a younger sibling, but he’s never been abused by my dad. So I know he’s safe. I just feel bad because it’s his birthday in a couple days, but I feel like I have to get out of here as soon as possible, I don’t wanna to wait around and find out how serious my dad was about those jokes. I also just feel like I’m overreacting/doing the wrong thing. I’ve had multiple friends tell me to leave, but now that it’s the day I’m supposed to leave and in an hour or so I’ll get on the bus, I feel incredibly nauseous and like I don’t know if I can do this anymore or if I should do this? I love my family and I feel really guilty. Relevant info : I’m f18 and live in Sweden.

It's winter in the Northern Hemisphere and we've been experiencing very wet weather in the PNW. I observed this female orb weaver shimmy down the gutter and land on the deck. Thanks to this /sub, I've learned this isn't just a fat spider but an orb weaver carrying an egg sac. I found her the next day back under the gutter. She had attached the egg sac and was staying close by, but I know her life is coming to a close.
