2024.11.26 06:30 CautiousExplore Have you guys noticed how our generation is like towards people on the spectrum?
I have high functioning autism, and people usually have 3 mentalities to my struggles: either a) just go to therapy bro b) just be confident bro, and don’t be weird or c) aww, uwu buddy, it’s so adorable your going on a date.
I am a pretty high functioning guy and have decent IQ and EQ. I’m just slow at times, don’t get jokes a lot, and my Aspergers gives me an odd accent, that’s most of it.
Has anyone else noticed this?

Hey, everyone I'm from a baptist denomination (23m) from South Africa, and I take care of myself and have a stable job. I'm very shy to even talk to women, and I don't want to be single anymore. How may I approach a woman that I like? Or is there a biblical and a better mindset around this? submitted by live_phila to ChristianDating [link] [comments] |

2024.11.26 06:30 shecallsit_mayonegg POLL: Berzerkshires Holiday Live Virtual Watch Event (Season 8, Ep 9-10)
RHONY has given us many amazing holiday moments and what better way to enjoy them than watching them, virtually, at the same time as other superfans? We're talking Berkshires trips, we're talking the debut of Luann's cabaret, we're talking the Nutcrackers, we're talking murder mystery parties (that are resolved instantly because Dorinda got hungry), we're talking Luann's wedding (Can you believe it girls? I'm married!) and the one million parties surrounding her nuptials with guests who weren't invited to the wedding, we're talking meeting Avivia's sex-crazed father for the first time, we're talking the shooting of Sonja's TOASTER OVEN PR photos. Yes these moments all happened in winter holiday episodes.
If you want to watch live, vote for your availability below. If multiple times work for you, drop that in the comments. If none work for you, please don't vote, but suggest a different time in the comments.
Note: The time slots available allow for our friends in Europe to join!
We will watch the Berzerkshires episodes (Season 8, Episodes 9-10) at the time that works for the most people. If we are split, we may offer 2 virtual live watch events to cater to the most people. (We'll see how many people participate! Again please vote if you want to participate!)
Once we schedule the Berzerkshires, we will find other times for the remaining holiday episodes (which frankly are also amazing, even if they don't possess the pure choas and classic status of Berzerkshires).
Finally - if anyone wants to come up with a drinking game or Bingo card for the episodes, drop a comment or DM me! Would love to see either if someone has that type of passion!
CHEERS!

I’m rereading one of my favourite books: “the long way to a small angry planet”!! I love the book, and it’s one of my comforts.
“the long way to a small angry planet” is a sci-fi book, and also has a found-family theme, which I love. It’s set some time in the far future, when humans live alongside other intelligent beings. It’s really interesting, and the world building is pretty good. It’s about a crew of spacers that create tunnels in space to connect systems (I’m not sure if I’m explaining this well…). It talks less of their journey to different places, but instead more of their lives, issues, and growth. It’s really nice, honestly.
There are so many reasons why I love “the long way to a small angry planet”. The plot is amazing, the characters are interesting, and it’s just overall wonderful. It has a special place in my heart.
I love the characters so much. They have unique and interesting stories, and I just love them so much. I can’t seem to have a favourite, because they’re all so cool in their own ways!! heurisjdhdhfj
Sometimes I wish I was in that world, hanging out with all the characters on their ship. I want to explore and have adventures, all while feeling cared for and free from judgement. At night, I like to imagine I’m apart of their crew (so just a self-insert fan fiction that’s all in my head). I sound a little delulu as I’m saying this, but still! The book holds experiences that I’d like to live through, despite how unrealistic it would be for me to actually do that.
I love this book so much. For me, it’s on the same level of significance as The Secret History, though their stories are completely different. The things I would do to read “the long way to a small angry planet” for the first time again is immeasurable. I fucking love that book.
hfiehfjshdhdkeorhsjfios thank you Becky Chambers for creating such a fucking masterpiece, as I will never be the same. shdisjdhejfhh I love the book so fucking much sjdhskdjdj

2024.11.26 06:30 Interesting-Potty I think I have a strangulated hernia and I’m scared
I’m a 17 year old male and back in the end of September I noticed a slight discomfort in my left testicle, it was also bigger than usual. I didn’t think much of it and just expected it to go away, but eventually I got scared by google thinking it’s cancer or other bad things. Finally got to the doctor and they said it was all good and referred me to a urologist for better treatment or whatever, but this appointment wasn’t until A MONTH LATER, and yea I know they can’t control their schedule but this just led me to being fear mongered and scared by the internet for another month. Eventually I found out about this thing called a hydrocele (pretty sure it’s called that) and then realized I thought I might have that. It’s November 14th and I’m finallyyy at this urologist and he just asked some questions and inspected my testicle (no x-ray or ultrasound or anything), and you wouldn’t guess, I have a hydrocele! Now he did say to watch if it gets any bigger and worse and if it’s painful when pooping because it’s possible this could turn into a hernia and I’ll have to have a surgery. He also said that I can still do heavy lifting and walking and stay active. It’s been about two weeks since then and I’ve been feeling a lot more discomfort (not horrible pain) but just it not feeling good. It’s also the size of probably an egg, and it’s really hard to poop. I have another appointment scheduled in two weeks, but I’m just really scared because google says it might be a strangulated hernia and this can kill you and stuff and you need immediate and I know I’m probably stupid for going to google but i don’t know what else to do. Someone please help

2024.11.26 06:30 needfriends-now [l][o] WE NEED TO TALK
Ok, let me put it this way: I’m not the biggest fan of texting. I think people rely too much on texting for communication because it’s easy to use and provides privacy. However, using your voice can send more genuine vibes and remind you that you’re talking to a real person, not just words on a screen. That’s why I’m looking for people to talk to. I know it might start awkwardly, and I’d be careful about choosing topics and figuring out what kind of person I’m speaking with. I hope to find an easygoing person so that conversations can branch out and lead to deeper topics. I love psychology and understanding how we develop and grow into who we are today. Deep conversations are great, and speaking your emotions and thoughts out loud can be a wonderful way to let things go. While I’m not a therapist, I am a good listener, and some friends I’ve met online have told me that talking to me helped them as much as therapy. That said, I’m pretty silly and love joking around. I enjoy making people laugh, and sometimes I ask random questions because even a random thought can spark hours of conversation, which I love. By the way, I know most people aren’t interested in talking these days because of how communication is evolving, so I don’t expect many responses. I do post a lot, so I apologize if it bothers you in advance. Have an amazing day!

2024.11.26 06:30 Tththorfligpogs109 IT IS JUST SO SAD TO THINK THAT EVEN IN MARRIAGE YOU CAN FEEL SO ALONE EMOTIONALLY DISCONNECTED?!
Sobrang hirap walang divorce sa pilipinas .. I blame myself for rushing into marriage without seeing things if we were truly compatible like our values aligned, I really regret that even after my battle with my mental health I thought marriage would give me an assurance that I will be supported physically, emotionally and mentally.
But it turns out na hindi pala I was all alone in the marriage I feel like a trashed honestly and sometimes I think of suicidal thoughts, tho I still function as a wife but there are moments when moods are too intense and the only thing I can do about is create chaos and escalate things.
I hate why I rushed in my marriage thinking na my husband clearly understoond what is my emotional and mental state. And daming bad transition na nagyari sa buhay ko as I enter into marriage. And even after that literal na reyna ng sablay but I tried my best to be strong to take a step back and reflect validate my feelings changed my perspective.
But I still fall short and hirap lumaban ng ikaw lang ang lumalaban I know thinking death is like a silver lining of something was not really going well in your life but sometimes masarap lang talaga maglaho na parang bula.

Hi everyone,
I’m a 23-year-old male who recently received some concerning blood test results indicating prediabetes. This came as a shock, as my blood sugar levels earlier this year were perfectly normal. I’d appreciate your insights into whether such a drastic change is possible and what might have contributed to it.
Here’s a timeline of my glucose-related results:

2024.11.26 06:30 Wild-Breath7705 How extreme was Japan’s military historically?
Japan has a mythos around it. Samurai exhibiting extreme honor. Fanatical devotion by soldiers in WWII leading to suicide charges and kamikaze pilots. The attempts to behead enemies for honor leading to stories like the mound of noses from the invasion of Korea.
These days there’s a (I suspect accurate) view in popular history that most cultures arent that foreign and that what seems extreme to a modern reader is logical when you understand the historical context better. Plenty of the things we find extreme about Japan have some kind of more familiar equivalent (in most countries, we venerate last stands and death with honor for example). However, there seem to be historical events and traditions that are hard to imagine in our culture and seem roughly historically accurate (the forty-seven ronin, the ritualistic nature of seppuku). I know Imperial Japanese propaganda retold a lot of these stories in very extreme forms to emphasize the superiority of Japanese culture, but it doesn’t seem like it’s false that the forty-seven ronin existed (and that their actions were genuinely unusual) or that seppuku was an unusual form of suicide(although a defeated leader committing suicide isnt unusual, the ritual is surprising to me).
My question is how extreme was Japan’s military culture (and if convenient to touch on, Japanese culture in general)? Was it actually an outlier? What degree did Japanese military culture retained a lineage through the political and upheavals and how much of this is entirely an invention of the period of imperial Japan?
