 | Hello, my configuration was working fine. After I updated the system on Sequoia, everything worked until last night. By the way, after a restart, I found that my computer no longer connects to the internet. However, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, airdrop work perfectly, and it says to be connected to internet, but the signal does not pass. I tried to update the Kexts, without success. The internet passes neither by Wi-Fi nor by Ethernet. Honestly curious. I'm opening this post for anyone who's got anecdotes, proof, etc. I've had a few experiences I can't explain and it really changed my outlook on well.. life, reality.. permanently. For some context and background, I'll describe mine to begin with, which are not too spooky, but still I hope it resonates with some of you.
- It was at about the time when I was deeply atheistic, until I read the Emerald tablets of Thoth. That sort of shook the foundations of my beliefs in materialism because I thought that the pyramids etc were truly mysterious, but that it began from Atlantis blew my mind and it all rang so strangely true. You can read it for yourself online as I did, but that triggered it for me.
- My mind was expanding at the possibility of the metaphysical. God was in everything, I knew. We were all sparks of the one flame of creation, eternal, evolving. I went at it with gusto, consuming every bit of esoteric knowledge I could find; breathwork, chi cultivation, exploring the astral body etc. I believed I was an angel, a demon, with thousands of past lives, and touching that 'oneness' of enlightenment was my goal.
- I was openly discussing it with my colleague and cousin who I worked with at the time. I suggested one day to experiment with telepathy (for fun) and met with interesting results. Sending thought images at first worked in strange ways; visualising something like the moon would be received by the other person as a planet with rings like Saturn. Strangely close, right? I only knew I was learning more about this intoxicating esotericism and I was excited about it all.
-For some reason, later on I began to get a bit dark, and told him not to FEAR, because the fear will destroy him. That freaked him out a bit, I could tell. Little did I know, we wouldn't be that close again, as in the coming months I would be fired by my cousin for reasons of my strange behaviors, I guess. But that night, the last thing I said to my colleague as I transferred my thoughts to him was 'What did I just send to you?' He repeated what I sent to him, word for word.
- A few weeks later, my aunt lost her husband, he was 80, she was younger, 60's, so he died peacefully, but she was devastated. That brought me to tears almost daily, as i worked and carpooled with her, picking her up daily as she sobbed every morning, I knew he was loved. He was missed. But he was still alive, somewhere out there.
- One night I heard 3 knocks on my bedroom door of my apartment. I opened the door. There was nobody else in the house. I never experienced anything ghostly before, but that night I saw a shape, a geometric, spinning shape, by the refrigerator.
So this is all true. My story. What's yours?

I have been in my current role for 8 years and work in a small team of 3 people.
There is my an Account Director, a Senior Advisor and then myself. I have a junior job title, but the pay has been acceptable and the work has been interesting.
The work that I do has not significantly changed in the last 8 years and we have all worked very hard in the face of an ever increasing workload. We work on a niche account that requires a level background knowledge of this particular client. I get on my with both of my colleagues and due to the size of the team, it being a bit niche and there being no other resource for the account, I have at times pushed through when I really, really could have done with being signed off, but didn't want to leave my colleagues in the lurch.
We have recently recruited for a fourth member of the team. This was advertised as a Senior Advisor. I spoke with my boss after seeing the advert and he agreed my work aligns with that of the Senior Advisor and in April my job title would change
They had interviews and after one of the interviews my boss decided to make an offer to a candidate. I was at my desk and overheard the conversation and it was apparent that the candidate they were offering the job to was being offered more than 50% more than I currently earn.
Ultimately, this candidate didn't work out and the offer was withdrawn. However, I realised I am probably being underpaid.
More interviews were undertaken and they found a replacement candidate who was less experienced and this has left me in a position where I feel, a bit cheated. The new candidate is a higher grade than myself and is likely on a higher salary but also is less experienced than myself.
I do not feel any animosity towards the new person. It is not their fault. However, I do feel very cheated by my work not only because my job title does not align with my work, but also because I am likely being paid less than I should be. And also because my job title is not aligned with my work, it also means that my annual bonus has been half of what it should have been. I'm entitled to an annual bonus of 5% at my current grade, but if I had been a Senior Advisor it would have been 10 to 15% annually and as a result I have missed out on bonus year after year. This is based on my boss's acknowledgement that my work is aligned with that of a senior advisor and also because it has not changed in the last 8 years. The role I do now is the role I started doing and the responsibilities I have are the responsibilities I had when I started.
I had always heard that companies are not loyal and that those that earn the most are those that the move jobs most frequently. However, I had always considered my boss to be fair with me and always push for me to get pay increases. Enjoying the time I've been in the role. My pay has risen by more than 50%.
This situation has however made me realise that being loyal to a company and team doesn't really count for anything and is not rewarded. I am looking for other roles but is there any benefit in having a discussion with my boss about how I feel or would this be to my detriment?
I guess from my employer's point of view is why should they have paid me more? Why should they have changed my job title when their the amount they are paying has been enough for me to stay as long as I have?
