So I've been playing on and off for a few years, ascended a few times with various melee brutes, but never "got" spellcasting. It just seems so daunting - there are so many spells to choose from and leveling skills is much more difficult.
The advice I found online was - try playing Djinn. And it did work! I don't have to worry about skilling and just need to get used to whatever spells I get, learning what spells there are along the way. I splatted quite a few Djinn like this tho. Start playing, play around, get some cool spells, get overconfident, die to a hydra in Lair...
I finally got my break when I started a Summoner. Without any direct damage spells I was forced to play more carefully and position myself carefully behind my summons.
The game was nice to me and on top of the starter spells I also got Ice Beast and Hoarfrost Cannonade, which easily got me through Lair and not so easily through Spider. What ice beast, ice and lightning towers couldn't take, I would throw the fire golem and my ancestor against.
In Shoals, however, I started struggling, especially after meeting Bai Suzhen. My summons were not powerful enough to take on her unending stream of Hydras. The only direct damage spell I had was Eringya's Noxious Bog which was kinda nice but a huge anti-synergy with my party of friends and towers.
I had already gotten Magnavolt. It was still hard to cast and from the description seemed too complicated to be useful.
Oh. Oh! Oh how wrong I was... Once it got remotely castable I realized I could melt EVERYTHING with it. With spell power and damage rising, it easily got me through Vaults 4 and Depths. The only issue were Storm Dragons and other stuff immune to electricity, but at that point my ancestor could quite easily splat them.
I was a bit scared to go into Vaults 5 for the third rune, but read on the wiki that Discord works wonders there and boy did it ever! Read a scroll of tele, go downstairs, cast Discord, teleport and BOOM level up in the middle of a safe corridor.
I was getting very confident at this point, especially with the nice Faerie Armor I got in Depths. Went down to Zot 5 and... Oh shit. Crap. OOFs are immune to electricity, have infinite will and couldn't care less about poisonous bogs...
What do? I'm not good enough to kite OOFs all day, so plan B - I had Dragons Call (which sounded AWESOME btw) just with >50% failure rate. So need to get me some xp. Well, slime pits sounded easy enough at this point and it was. I WAS afraid of TRJ but Magnavolt seemed to be more powerful the more stuff was on screen. I did not expect how well Discord would work against TRJs little army. LOL it just got insta-eaten by its own jellies.
At this point I went into the vestibule of Hell for a bit more XP and back down into Zot 5. Dragons vs OOFs and liches was fun, though scary at times. OOFs hurt! Seeing something melt three dragons is... an experience. But anyway, took the orb and got my first Caster win!
Looking for advice - maybe there's something I missed with my Djinn that I could have done better? Maybe I could have gone extended? And what could I play next to learn more about magic?

2024.11.26 09:37 IBalajii Whoop’s HR is inaccurate after last update
So I was doing indoor cycling today morning in which the movement of hands are very minimal. I had my AW SE and Whoop. And surprisingly my whoop did not go beyond 130BPM while my AW is showing 150+. And there is a whole new level of complexity in HR zones which I think this subReddit has covered enough. Whoop has really messed up its algorithm with the recent update.

Hi folks, I have recently come across the ADCB Accor cards. I have the Marriott bonvoy from NBD but it seems like Accor is a better value for the free beach and pool access and similar benefits to bonvoy for the earn rate. Any comments on the how is the experience with Accor and it is worth it.
If yes, if there any agent that could get a fee waiver or some sort of bonus.

I have had atleast 7games to where I will get dragged into a 46/51 rd game with players who have been going down and basically watching me solo rounds since rd 15 but refuse to initiate exfils.. I mean literally no play time to the point where I have to purposefully let them die and call and exfil and solo it so that I don't need there vote. Am I playing with trolls that hope I lose because they die off early or are people not looking at exfils and trial missions on there screen?

Just bought a kawasaki klx110R with the centrifugal clutch....
When riding and suddenly letting off the throttle it feels like the clutch isn't disengaging. I almost don't need to use the brakes because of engine braking. I especially notice it when downshifting......the bike jolts/lurches
I assumed it was the clutch sticking but realized that when i start the bike and put it in first (or any) gear, the bike doesn't roll until i start to give it throttle
I'd like to know if that's my issue before i start taking things apart.
