So, I'm the least favourite child, of 2. Oldest. My sister is as horrible as they come, my mother enables her. I'm 14. I share a room with jerk sister. We have a spare room, it's just filled with my parents stuff because they're hoarders. I want a safe space. My rooms a mess becayse I got depressed and it's too big if a mess to clean. Plus my sister fucks it up again after a day. I told my mother I'd do a deep deep clean when i had my own room which we had been talking about and then she just straight up said it wasn't happening. I need that. I told her about myself and she said ''ok.'' I asked for therapy and therapy and said no. We have plenty of money. Enough to fund my father's alcohol addiction. My mother smacks our butts as punishment. And now she's just doing it randomly and I've said I dont like it but she just does. I want out. Each day it gets worse and worse. What I'm explaining rn seems nice. It's so much worse. I can't explain it I need out. I'm gonna just die lol

Hi all, I am a 24 year old female experiencing daily consistent pain in my knees and lower legs. Apologies in advance for how long this will be, but I want to include all the relevant details.
At the beginning of June, I started feeling pain in my knees, more so in my right one, and my shins/tibia bones. This followed from doing Zumba, running, walking and hiking for a few days in a row. I did physio therapy for a couple months, as the therapist thought it was a tendon issue, but when the pain did not subside, he sent me to get an MRI done on my right knee mid August. This showed a subchondral fracture of the medial tibial plateau without compression or displacement, and osseous oedema contusion of the distal femoral shaft.
I then went to see an Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Consultant mid September, who advised me to refrain from walking, and advised me to swim or cycle. I cycled once for half an hour, and the pain in my knees and legs got worse. The consultant also referred me to get my bloods done and a DEXA bone density scan. This scan showed I have low bone mineral density for my age and gender, and have Osteopenia. My bloods came back relatively normal, but with MCV, MCH and transferring saturation slightly high.
I went to see a different Sports and Exercise Medicine Physician in October, who referred me for another MRI scan, this time of both knees. The results for the right knee: “Healing subchondral fracture in the medial tibial plateau with minor osseous oedema remaining.” The results for the left knee: “No specific cause demonstrated for patient’s symptoms.” This was very alarming to me as the pain in my left knee has now overtaken the pain in my right, and the MRI made no sense to me.
I have since spoken/seen both doctors and they are at a loss. They both told me stress fractures only should take approx 6 weeks to heal, and the pain should have subsided. During all this time, since June, I have been feeling persistent pain. Before cycling that one time in September, there would be days where the pain would be very low. However, after cycling, I have experience strong pain daily. I can’t sit on my heels anymore as it is too painful. I can’t sit cross legged anymore. I struggle to find a comfortable position in bed or on the couch, as any way I sit usually invokes pain after a while. Even when I am sitting at my desk working, I will feel pangs of pain and aches in my knees or in the middle of my tibia bones.
I would also like to mention I eat enough dairy products and take calcium and vitamin D supplements every day. Also in the past couple weeks there have been two instances where I felt a cold/numb feeling in the knees. The next step is I am being referred to a rheumatologist who also has experience in haematology.
I am honestly at a loss at what to do. I’ve completely stopped Zumba and running, and my walking is limited. It really has put a restriction on my life and has impacted my mental health a lot, and I don’t know what to do. If anyone has any suggestions or advice or know what’s wrong, it would be really appreciated. Feel free to ask for more details which I will be happy to provide.

2024.11.26 09:21 trevcharm pc monitor, grey background revealed by pixel shift

i just got my first oled tv, a 2022 lg cs 55" second hand and i've been setting it up for desktop pc monitor use.
i use a full black desktop background, but after a while i noticed this thin grey border - but it was only there on the left side of the screen. then, the next day, i saw it on the top of the screen as well.
it was driving me crazy, i went through all the settings and couldn't work out what was going on. i was worried it was a screen / pixel fault or something. i tried to just ignore and forget about it once i couldn't solve it.
finally today i noticed the same border on the right side, and then saw it was gone from the left and the top now.
suddenly it hit me, maybe it's pixel shift? so i turned pixel shift of, and boom - grey border disappears everywhere, just pure black all over now.
so i turned pixel shift back on cause i'm a bit paranoid about burn in, but now that i know what it is - is there anyway to make the background "behind" the desktop background actual pure black so it doesn't show up during pixel shift?
i'm on windows 10. really hope someone has run into this problem before and can help me!

2024.11.26 09:21 bahbahhummerbug I want/need something similar to a flange spreader, except not hydraulic, and able (mod or stock) to affix different "tips" to the lever/wedge ends for different tasks

I can picture this thing so cleary in my mind except I haven't been able to find something in mant many hours of hunting.
If I could get a ratcheting flange spreader for what I believe to be reasonable (less than 50, since hydraulic is like 70-100 starting) I woulda gotten that and messed with it. but alas.
my vision: A wedge (like a log splitter wedge but larger), made of two halves, split down the long axis. Inside is a leadscrew that moves another wedge along bearing surfaces on the inside face of the main, outermost wedge. screw moves inner wedge forward which forces the two halves of the outer wedge apart. so basically a flange spreader. I think that's how most/all work at least.
I'd like to be able to screw on different tips to the front section of the spreader in order to make the tool more versitile. I'm always opening cases, trying to align things, lift furniture, etc.
So it's kinda like a set of paralell open/close pliers except that their strong in the opening direction.
I could screw on some really slender, narrow tips for one task. A tip with a curve for something else.
I've thought about making a set of "reverse pliers" with a non-fixed hinge point that uses two sets of jack/leadscrews to provide a constant opening force which could alternate along a set of holes along the length of the two tool halves. Don't really like that idea.
messing around with a scissor jack but that's also not serving well. The trim popping opening pliers from HF are insteresting exept their way too weak and the jaws are totally unsuitable.
oh, and why are these things called "simplex jacks" like a million bucks and why haven't the chinese copied those? they seem to never rip ofF many of the products that I want and should be easy to duplicate and make. those simplex jacks are cool.

2024.11.26 09:21 poopooprincessXD traumatic experience at a rave… i want to cut off all my friends

plur is dead. my friend got so fucked up they wouldn’t let her in. i tried to get my other friends who were helping her out inside the venue—ended up getting in a fight with security guards and almost arrested. my friends left me outside on the curb to take care of her while i missed the whole show. they didn’t even care to check up on me or her after it ended. instead, they complained about how she ruined their entire night and left without a word… at least they got to see the show.
huge slap in the face! this experience reminded me how selfish people truly are. i don’t think i can rave ever again… at least not with them. my whole friend group is fake. idk who to rely on anymore. i’m so disappointed.
p.s. the girl who got fucked up was our rave mommy and took care of us all when we first got into raves. she was always dd and the designated water pak/fan carrier.
