2024.11.26 10:40 CptPolarExplorer Can't get Google Assistant to do anything meaningful? Am I missing something?

Hi!
Just moved into new place and decided to make a smart home and bought a Google Nest.
But it's not working like I assumed. First of all, Nest is a piece of shit device. It's slower than the touch screen of a 15 year old car. Something MUST be wrong here? I new device cannot possibly be this bad?
Voice recognition is utter trash. It constantly makes small mistakes and mixes up words that are similar. You have to stand right in front of it and shout at it like an idiot.
How do you perform simple tasks like telling it to play the latest news?
In Sweden we have an organisation for news broadcasted through the public news site. You can access it from anywhere that has audio pods, I usually listen to it via Spotify. But if I tell Nest to "open spotify and play Ekot news from Swedish Radio" it just whines about not finding anything. Which is absolutely ridiculous.
If I say "play Swedish news" it opens YouTube and starts a potential RACIST news cast???! Like wtf?!
If I say "play news" it opens some ridiculous YouTube about someone talking about new TVs. Like wtf*2??!
Anyone seen the scene in Monty Python's Holy Grail in the tower were the guards absolute does not understand their instructions? This feels very much like that?
Is Google Nest this bad or am I missing something?

so… i don’t really have anyone to talk to about this in real life anymore and i’m too embarrassed to talk about seriously, but for awhile now i had this issue…. i don't want to say i'm trans(though i bring it up because it’s the only thing like this i know of that’s related to gender) personally because i don't mind aligning with my assigned gender, even though i do enjoy and feel validation by strangers who have thought i was a boy and dressing like a boy too, i also like being feminine with about as much as the same enjoyment... my only issue is my sex, i guess. i always hated my body, but i especially hated it as it grew into becoming more mature. it isn't just the gross way it looks, it's the way it feels on me, it feels heavy and unnatural in ways that other parts of my body don’t feel, but when i ask other cis girls they say that they either love that part of their body or that they want it to be bigger? i don't know what's wrong with me because i'm sure this isn't about being trans but the only people i felt comfortable opening up basically just don’t understand what i’m talking about and the only solution they give me is to basically just accept it and move on. the thing is, i genuinely don't think i can do that i used to refuse to wear bras while growing up because it felt like admitting to myself that i was "grown women" and no longer the more ambiguous “child” but also because it forced me to look at my developing breasts. it stopped when my parents got tired of it and begged me to wear one, and ever since then it was the reverse. i sleep with my braw on now because i hate the idea of my breasts being visible underneath my clothes, and even touching my clothes(i KNOW this is irrational but i can’t help it). i wear jackets on most days for the same reason. i hate my hips for, again, the same reason, and always try to wear baggier pants. despite all of these i still really like wearing dresses and being at least visually feminine. i... seriously don't understand myself in the slightest and it makes me kind of anxious. also, sorry if this is worded poorly! i don’t mean to sound rude or insensitive, but tell me if i was. this is basically just a long winded rant.

First time builder ako kaya di ko alam. Pagkapunta ko sa BIOS sinara ko yung side panel tapos nag turn off yung PC ko. Pagka maya maya inulit ko pag on sa PC pero nakasara yung side panel tapos hinawakan ko yung case at dun grounded. Ano po ba problema? Kasi pag inopen ko lang yung side panel di siya grounded tsaka goods naman.

I’m currently living in a hostel with my roommate. It’s just the two of us, and honestly, she’s been nothing but kind to me. We’ve built a good friendship, but lately, I’ve started noticing some things that make me question our dynamic, and I’m not sure how to feel about it.
For starters, she usually avoids changing clothes in front of me, which is fine but unusual as no boys are allowed in our hostels. But when I’m changing (usually just down to my underwear), I’ve caught her sneaking glances a few times. I shrugged it off initially, thinking I might be imagining it, but now I’m not so sure.
A couple of days ago, she lent me her laptop to complete some work. While typing in the search bar, I noticed “yuri manga” pop up in the autocomplete. For those who don’t know, that’s manga focused on romantic relationships between women. I don’t think she realized she hadn’t cleared her search history or used incognito mode.
Another thing that’s making me overthink is how shy she gets whenever I hug her, I don’t mean anything by it, but her reaction feels... different. Like she’s nervous or flustered in a way that makes me think she might have feelings for me. Does she have crush on me?
If she has crush, that makes me happy as it is the first time, someone has crush on me. Also I want to know what exactly she feels when i change infront of her, which i dont mind since she is girl(even if she is a lesbian)
