It’s a bit of a story, and please go easy on me as this is the first time I am posting on Reddit. I’ve never even dove into Reddit, just the occasional looking topics up on google and clicking Reddit threads. So, I’m super super new here and unsure how things work on this platform. Honestly, I only use Facebook and Snapchat. I’m a 26 yr old female. Anyways, I’m coming here to find some sort of, well I’m not sure exactly if it’s “answers”, but maybe just to find someone who either has had a similar experience, or even an input on what I’m about to share. Here we go: When I was 15, I went to a friend’s house to spend the night on a Saturday. She was already a troubled child when I had first met her at the age of 10. We met in 5th grade at the former town I had lived in until I moved to a new school district at age 12. We had texted and snapped each other through the years that we had spent apart, I knew she had some issues with nicotine, weed, and alcohol, but never knew the true extent of it until we met up again on that Saturday a few years later. Initially, I was already dealing with body dysmorphia, bulimia, anorexia… you - name - it kinda thing. At this point in my 15 yr old life, I had only been about a year in to these awful things. Just feeling hate towards my self and body. Growing up I was always a big girl after the 3rd grade. I dropped 50 pounds from 14 yrs to 15 yrs. It was bad, and no one knew. Again, anyways, I get to her house, we will call her Megan. At first, we had so much fun doing 15 yr old girly~things (the year was 2013). Listening to YouTube VEVO music videos, talking about boys at our schools, etc.. Then, things got dark… Megan’s mom was at work and wouldn’t be home until about 11pm that night. Around 3 pm, Megan asked me if I wanted to drink, I said sure. That was my first mistake. At about 3:15pm she said she had a friend who could get us alcohol and that he’d be over in 15 minutes. I thought to myself “sweet, my first time drinking alcohol and no adults around!”. I was so wrong. The guy shows up 15 mins later, like she said, but he didn’t look like a kid… but, to myself again I thought, “ oh well, he’s a little older, probably has an older sibling or friend to give him booze” we started taking shots of straight vodka and cranberry juice as the chaser. Megan had definitely looked like she had done this plenty of times… Me, on the other hand, had not. After about 2-3 shots I started acting out, especially being low on food/energy due to my previous issues explained. This guy just sat there silent, he had maybe one shot, but that was it. He then watched us, sitting silently. He specifically asked me “what’s your favorite song?” I told him my favorite song at the time was “I Will Follow You Into the Dark” by Death Cab For Cutie.. he then played that song. He then asked if I would kiss Megan in front of him. I did. I was practically wasted at this point. I had another 2 shots after that. Megan begged me to drink more with her. He then asked if I was a virgin. I said yes and that “I would only lose my virginity to (a famous singer I had a crush on at the time )”. After that, Megan said “ I need to pay Geoffrey for the vodka” and they went up and had sex. At this time, I was spinning, on the verge of puking. I can remember hearing them having sex. This was the first time I had ever heard anything like that. It sounded like a movie. Very moan-y and staged. After they were “finished” Megan came back down to me and said that he wanted me to come up there… I did. This part was like a flash before my eyes. Next thing I know, I’m on the bed and he’s asking me to kiss Megan again. I did. Before I knew it, he was kissing me. I didn’t even know what I was doing at this point. I remember Megan saying “he doesn’t even wanna kiss me, he must like you more”. Like a jealousy thing or something? I’m not sure. He then pushed me on the bed on my back while Megan was sitting there, butt naked. Megan held my legs up and he forced his way inside me. I remember looking at Megan like “please why are you letting this happen to me” for the first 10 seconds. I couldn’t even get a word out. I then vocally said “ it hurts, stop” and Megan looked at me and then looked at him. Nothing was said. I then was desperate and scared and said “ please have him put a condom on “ and Megan jumped on that, and she grabbed one from her dresser drawer. He put one on and proceeded. I kept saying “it hurts. I don’t want my first time like this!” He kept saying “put your legs up, baby!” And he kept kissing me with his nasty chapped lips. Megan finally pushed him off of me after she heard enough of my screams and said “Okay, Dude! Get off her now!” And he did. I’m not quite sure what happened after that. I know it lasted at least 5 minutes because I only stared at the clock on the bedside table. I heard him he leave. I just layed in the bed, bloodied sheets. It was her mom’s bed. I then threw up, I was also scared that I was pregnant (being a 15 yr old virgin), because of the non - condom use. About an hour after that, next thing I knew I was in the bottom of a tiny car with her friends because her friend had “more alcohol” as I was throwing up on the three other people in the back. I was laying on the ground upon their feet. We got to her friend’s house and I sat there in the backyard vomiting the entire time while they were all smoking cigarettes and making fun of me for being “too drunk” or not handling my alcohol. 15. Yrs. Old. A few months later I found out that “Geoffrey” was 25. Only one yr younger than I am today writing this post that has gave me issues my entire life. I have trouble in my 9 yr relationship now with trust. I also have slight issues with alcohol, and not being able to control my consumption while I drink. This is my story and I just wanted to share. I own a small ice cream business in the UK that currently trades at street food markets. I am looking to grow the business and focus developing different areas during the off season. I have been asked by a lot of our customers to start doing collection/delivery as well as being approached, so my questions are:
- How do you guys manage wholesale/catering orders?
- How do you manage direct to customer sales with collection/delivery?
My background is as an engineer so I'm not yet aware of how these things are typically managed in food businesses. There seems to be a software/platform for everything these days and I am trying to find that balance of using as few platforms/software as possible, but also having the right processes and systems in place to do the job effectively and efficiently
