I run a single site, simple retail business. I want to be able to easily sell our products to customers in the store and then look back and analyse what we've sold. I don't need multichannel, e-commerce, marketing integration, loyalty etc. Therefore, I don't feel like I should have to pay a huge amount. Feels like this shouldn't be a difficult system to find, but is proving to be. Was with Vend, which then became Lightspeed. They recently doubled my yearly cost and removed a load of functionality. To restore the functionality I need, they want to triple my previous cost. So obviously I'm keen to move on. Talking to Square but any other suggestions would be helpful. UK based, if it makes any difference. Thanks.

My phone is slow. It is around 2 years old. The phone gets stuck, keyboard hangs, camera shows an image already taken. Sometimes the unlock icon at top of the screen won’t be shown.
I do all updates properly.

2024.11.26 11:19 initials-bb Starting to learn Docker, noob question about networks and containers & stacks
Hi,
I finally started to try and learn Docker. In my setup I have a small server that runs VMs that I SSH into from my laptop.
When I run different docker tests, the networks are often on other subnets than what my ISP router supports, as in it only allows 192.168.1.0/24 adresses with a 255.255.255.0 subnet mask. I'm not willing to invest in a router to put behind the ISP box in DMZ mode... So basically if a Docker container or stack uses any other subnet I can't reach it from my laptop...
What would be the best Docker network to use in this setup ? I've tested MACVLAN and I can get it to work, but I'm still unsure if this is the way to do it properly ?

There is only one problem - I cannot crystalize one main character concept for him. Maybe do him as serial killer that is sacrificing humans to glean Supernal lore from 'will of the gods"? Any other character concepts can you toss me?

I start this post with the a little premise: i don't know what's wrong with me but i can't stop having negative thoughts, I have been having them since I was a child and there seems to be no way to stop them, horrible thoughts about me being disprespectful to people and being rude or entitled in general along with thoughts of me being a bad person; every single time i have these thoughts i end up saying nonsensical and sometimes bad things as if they were tics, it's probably OCD but i don't know never been diagnosed. Now in my country there's this unhealthy obsession with true crime to the point where all it takes is for one single woman to be killed (even more interesting if by her husband/fiancé) and the circus comes in town: for at least three entire months everyday every single form of media must air or publish entire special edition episodes about her, her privacy is completely violated, her life is transformed into a show, every single tv channel must do special coverages where her entire life is scrupulously analysed with microscope level attention even if it has nothing to do with the case; the privacy of the victim is completely destroyed and transformed into an open book that everyone can read. And in order to achieve this the media must stalk (because that's what it is: stalking) the family and the friends of the victim in order to gather as much information as possible, they don't give a shit if they are mourning or if they can't even speak from the pain, no, dozens of cameramen and journalists must follow them 24/7 and ask them every kind of question no matter how weird or personal it is; let's touch the worst categories now: influencers and mythomaniacs who exploit the victim's death to get attention either to advertise expensive t-shirts or to improvise themselves detectives while harrassing the family of the victims with their absurd theories no one needs, we even arrived to a point where people who never knew the victim put flowers on her tombstone just to appear in front of the cameras, do you realise how disprespectful that is? All of this to have 15 minutes of fame. I am tired of having intrusive thoughts about all these thing, to imagine myself as a bad person that disrespect the victims and their relatives and the worst thing is that I can't escape it because it's fucking everywhere, they literally can't shut up about dead people they must sell them as a product to everyone.

I’m turning 23 this weekend, I haven’t properly celebrated my birthday since I was a kid so this year I decided I wanted to do a fantasy themed garden party with everyone I love and care about.
I’ve been planning it for over 7 months, gathering decor, ensuring my garden and pool are well kept, planning food and alcoholic beverages for everyone to enjoy. I have been so excited for so long, staying up late looking at inspiring for how I can decorate my backyard. I don’t even know how much money I’ve spent on decor and miscellaneous items to fit the theme let alone my $200 costume.
I made the event two months in advance as I wanted to give everyone time to book off work and put together their costumes. I wasn’t expecting everyone to come however I invited 15 people and hoped at least 10 would show up. Out of those 15, only four said they could make it. The rest cancelled today saying they have a shift on the day of my birthday despite me giving TWO MONTHS notice and asking people to please book the day off if they want to attend.
I feel guilty for being upset as I understand that as adults we have other obligations in life and that the world does not revolve around me however I just feel so uncared for. The people I hold closest to me and was so excited to spend time with didn’t even bother to book time off to see me.
I sent a message to everyone thanking them for considering spending the day with me but unfortunately due to unexpectedly low RSVPS I have to cancel. Instead I’m having a small drinking/movie/charcuterie board and swimming night with the people who could make it (which thankfully are some of my closest friends). I’m looking forward to this however I am still upset that something I have spent over half a year excited for wasn’t able to come to fruition and it makes me feel like a sad, lonely child again wondering why nobody likes me.
Sorry to vent and be a sad sack lol. Just wanted to get my feelings out without venting to my close friends who are able to attend and making them feel as if their attendance isn’t good enough for me.
