2024.11.26 14:26 Beneficial_Neat9086 Shoppers! Be careful out there and stay alert!
Im just passing here to remind you to stay alert during this holiday season! This past Saturday I was shopping for an order at a busy Costco, the order was 3 cases of water, one of toilet paper and 2 dawn dish soaps. Well, whilst I was unloading the water into my car, I took my eyes off the shopping cart for MAYBE 3 seconds and one of the soaps it's gone. It was a very busy time so when a bunch of people walked by I wasn't alarmed or anything, but surely one of them just grabbed a soap off my cart and went about their day. I'm so pissed that it was soooo easy for them. So please, stay alert and make sure you have your trunk and your shopping cart in your field of vision!

2024.11.26 14:26 ItsThursday_ My first Danny Dream
Hey guys I never post on reddit but I thought I should update that I had my first ever Danny dream. It was my bar mitzvah (Im an adult, also not jewish) and he showed up. How kind. Danny then continued to miss my high five, not even try again, and tell me my bar mitzvah was so boring he's never going to another party again. He assured me we were still cool though. He then ran away so fast that his legs broke and ambulances had to come. Safe to say he ruined my bar mitzvah.

Wattpad Story - "God of Bananas"
Blurb - Chima is a feisty young girl who dreams of becoming a warrior but she is constantly told by her village what women can and can't do - fighting being one of them. Determined to prove them wrong, she sets out to join the army all while keeping her identity a secret. All easier said than done - especially when your partner in crime is a whacky banana god who can't control his powers! A pairing like this can only mean one thing...trouble! Will Chima and her friends be able to keep this a secret? Or will outside forces threaten to expose everything?
God of Bananas is a fictional story set in a fictional world. It is heavily inspired by different Hispanic, Latin American and Native American Cultures
"Would you look at that," I thought, as I approached the cliff and looked into the thick jungle. My village sat along the rolling hills, under a cloudy blue sky. The sounds of tropical birds and insects were carried along by a warm breeze. It was the kind of scene that could evoke memories of the past. And in fact, it did. I remember that one particular day when everything changed. "It really hasn't been that long has it?" My fingers silently glided along my staff as I began to reimagine the events. "If I'd known what I do now, would I have still made that jump?" I wondered as I continued staring down at the view.
It really did feel like it happened yesterday: the sunlight was weaving through the rainforest canopy and kids' laughter could be heard echoing through the trees. I was perched on my family's hut, watching my friends spar with wooden staffs. Each strike and clash stirred something inside me—a yearning to join, even though I knew they'd never let me. "Take that, scum! You're going down!" Tupoc yelled, full of himself. "No way, I'm just getting started" Eloy shot back, his staff clashing with Tupoc's.
I played the same role as always—the damsel in distress. The boys would duel, and depending on who won, the girls were either freed or moved to another location for more dueling. It was pretty pathetic, if I'm being honest. I'd resolved not to play at all anymore, but the boys wouldn't play anything else. As for Itzel? The only other girl who was there? She was only interested in playing with her dolls. She didn't mind all the rescues and the stupid games. To her, it was all part of the fun. She'd sit there braiding the doll's hair, humming to herself, and I'd stand there I hating every second of it. but that was just how it was in our village. The boys were the heroes, and girls were the zeros. Watching them fight only fueled my frustration. And just as I was starting to consider leaving, I felt something strange fly past my face. My eyes widened as I turned my head in its direction. The bells on my family's dream catcher were ringing as it blew bast me. It had no image, or any kind of form. But as mysteriously as it appeared, it disappeared into the jungle.
"What was that?" I wondered as I focused along its path.
"Chima? You're still up there?" Tupoc's voice snapped me out of my daze.
Tupoc had noticed that I never left the group after being denied to play. He was looking at me with that smirk that he always had whenever he was up to no good. "Yeah? What do you want?" I asked as I raised my eyebrow suspiciously.
"I was just wondering why you were still here. Shouldn't you be helping your mom in the kitchen or something?"
My anger was summoned the moment those words left his mouth. I couldn't let him see how angry I was - but there was no way I was going to let a comment like that slide. I was going to hit him back just as hard. And I knew exactly where it would hurt.
"Ha! Shouldn't you be watching your back for an ambush?" Your form has been looking preeetty sloppy lately."
Tupoc's smirk faltered, because he knew I'd hit a nerve. But only for a moment as he shook his head in denial. "My form is perfect. You on the other hand, don't belong on the battlefield because you're a girl. And girls can never be fighters."
That did it. I stood up and grabbed my wooden staff. "Of course they can! I've beaten you plenty of times before! And I can do it again!" I shouted back angrily. He shrugged, still wearing that smug grin. "If you're so tough, why don't you jump down from there?" Both him and his buddy Zuma snickered. He was pointing at the drop between me and the ground. A jump too high for anyone to make without breaking something. Impossible even.
"Oh yeah? You think I can't?" I challenged, gripping my staff.
"Isn't it obvious? You'd never make it down in one piece" Tupoc said as he rolled his eyes. Chiming in, Zuma also added "Nah man, more like - in pieces" They both laughed at their own dumb joke and turned to focus their attention back on Eloy, who was caught off guard by the interruption. They knew it couldn't be done. And deep down, I knew it too. But I would never admit it.
I scanned my surroundings, my mind racing. There had to be something I could use - anything. That's when I spotted it—a large rock. Sitting closer to me than the ground was. It wasn't perfect, but it was something. A warm current blew past me carrying with it a few leaves. I gripped my staff even tighter. Today was going to be different I resolved. I wasn't going to wait around for an invitation that would never come. I was going to show them I could be a warrior too. Even in this game of make-believe, if I could beat the boys, they'd have to acknowledge me!
At that moment the birds' calls were clearer than ever before. It felt like nature itself was on my side, urging me on. I backed up a ways, took a deep breath, and locked eyes on Tupoc, searching for an opening.
Tupoc had just knocked Eloy down and declared his victory. "Ha! Weak as usual. Better luck next time, I guess." He turned his back and started to walk toward Itzel when—Now! Before I could second guess myself, I ran forward and jumped. "I'll show you who can't fight!"
As the wind carried me forward, the boys froze in shock as they realized what I was doing. Even Iztel, stopped playing with her doll to take notice. Her mouth hung wide open as she watched me fly off the roof. My knees buckled slightly as I landed on the rock, but I didn't stop. I pivoted to launch myself towards Tupoc, swinging my staff with all the power I had.
He barely had the time to react. He did manage to block the brunt of the blow, but I was able to graze him across his cheek. He stumbled back and fell onto the dirt with a loud thud.
For a moment there was silence. Catching my breath, I stood over him and raised my staff in front of his face. Seeing him laying there looking so pathetic, I couldn't help but crack a smile, "You were saying?"
He angrily rubbed the sore part of his cheek as he started to shout at me "Hey, that's not fair! You used the rock!" Tupoc grumbled, as he smacked my staff away, looking more embarrassed than shocked. "Nobody said I couldn't use it. And I still made it down without a scratch, didn't I?"
The boys stood there, dumbfounded. But me? I was just getting started.
Tupoc was glaring at me, his pride clearly wounded, but right as he was getting up to make a move, Bembe's voice cut through the tension. "Hey hey! Take it easy!"
I turned to see my older cousin, Bembe, who was striding toward us, his green cape billowing with the breeze. The other boys immediately straightened up at the sight of him. I'm not sure how long he was standing there, but apparently he'd been watching the scene unfold from the sidelines.
"What is this, some kind of insult contest? If you're supposed to be warriors, then settle it with your staffs, not your mouths."
Bembe was probably the best possible person to stop Tupoc. He was well respected among the men of our tribe for his sheer talent as a warrior. That, and he was also a pretty cool person to hang around. He could've scolded us like some kind of parent for fighting, but he was more like a big brother to all of us. I always appreciated how laid back he was about these things.
"Bembe!" I exclaimed, almost forgetting Tibol's slurs. "Now that you're here, we can finally play something fun!"
He chuckled, adjusting the bow and quiver strapped to his back. "Well... I'm actually just passing through. The family needs some food for tonight, so I'm on hunting duty. But maybe next time we can."
"Hunting duty?!" I beamed, as I finally noticed his weapons. "Oh! Can I come too Bembe, please?"
"Next time, promise." He emphasized as he ruffled my hair.
"Awww!" I pouted. My excitement quickly souring. He must've found my expression funny because he laughed.
The other boys were quickly losing interest, and ran off to play a ball game called Pok-Ta-Pok.
And while they did that, I watched Bembe walk towards the jungle. The sound of the kids' laughter was echoing in the background. "By the way, that was some jump Chima" He said as he glanced back at me "Didn't think you were going to make it."
I held onto that small bit of praise as I saw the last flicker of his cloak fade into the trees. I really wished I could've gone with him too. But just as I was just about to turn and join the others, I heard my mother's voice behind me.
"Chima! Can you come inside, my amore? I need you to try on a new dress I made," she called from our hut's doorway. She stood there, hand on her hip, thick wrist bracelets jangling. Her sash tying up her long red skirt.
I froze, mortified. My heart sank as I realized what she'd just said—and in front of everyone.
The snickering started pretty immediately and my cheeks burned with embarrassment. "Oh great, a dress," I moaned, gritting my teeth."
"Come now, I dont have a lot of time to work on this, so I need you inside," my mother continued, her tone firm.
I turned to face her, seeing the look in her eyes that meant she wasn't in the mood for arguments. "But Mom!" I whined, my fists clenched. "Do I have to? Can't I do it later?"
She crossed her arms, narrowing her eyes. "No, you can't. This is for your sister's ceremony tomorrow, and you should want to look your best. Now please do as I say."
With a groan, I dragged my feet back toward the hut. And I gave the boys the ugliest glare I could. Just as I was about to step inside, one of the boys called out to me.
"Chima, wait"
I paused, avoiding to turn around, my frustration simmering. "What do you want?" I snapped.
Planting his staff into the dirt, he continued. "It's about what Tupoc said. About girls being fighters and all"
"Yeah? What about it?" I snarled, ready for more mocking.
"I don't agree with the others. I think women should be allowed to fight if they want to." He said, his voice low but firm.
I stopped in my tracks, caught off guard. I turned to fully look at who was saying this. It was Eloy. And his expression was serious, unlike the teasing smiles of the other boys. I was stunned. Eloy was the quiet one of the group. Never really shared his opinions. I didn't know him well—just that he was a slave. And that he was always labeled as the weakest among the boys.
"Well I'm glad someone around here agrees with me!" I replied with a hint of relief "Do you think the army would ever let me join?" I asked, curious to hear more of his thoughts.
"Well..." He hesitated, he eyes glancing away from mine "You'd probably have to take more underhanded measures, but I think it could be done."
Okay, now I was curious. "Oh yeah? Like what?"
He didn't answer right away, looking as if he was debating on whether or not to say it aloud. His silence made me even more intrigued. "C'mon, you can tell me. What is it?," I urged, stepping closer.
Finally, he spoke, his eyes still looking away from mine. "You'd have to pretend to be a boy."
I blinked, taken aback by the suggestion. It was so out there, so unexpected, I had to laugh it off. "No way, That's crazy! There's no chance I'd do something like that!"
But Eloy didn't laugh. He just looked back at me with that same serious expression. "That's just what I'd do if I was you. I'd do whatever it took to become a warrior. And If I had to keep things a secret, then so be it."
With that, he turned and walked off to join the others, leaving me to stand there and absorb what he'd just said. He was being completely sincere. For a moment, I just stared after him, a mix of interest and confusion. Maybe it was the way he said it, I dunno. But I couldn't help but admire his sense of resolve - wherever it came from.
Could I actually go through with something like that? I wondered.
I've never considered it before, but for the first time, I wasn't sure of my answer.

2024.11.26 14:26 pippip_throwaway Import data from multiple sheets based on dropdown selection
Hi there,
I've looked at various solutions and have either not been able to convert it to my own purposes, or it didn't quite answer what I need with the drop down options crossing multiple sheets.
I have a sample sheet here.
We have our attendance recorded by quarter, so Jan-Mar is on one sheet, Apr-June is on another, etc.
Month by month, each skater needs to have 75% attendance. The attendance sheet records their CURRENT attendance, but they want to be able to see what their future attendance WILL be if they show/dont show, or if they need to submit extra points (xp) by exercising on their own time to make up for absences.
I have two issues, on the MIGS Calculator tab, I need the A7 dropdown to reference 'Q1 Jan-Mar' B1, N1, AD1, as well as 'Q2 Apr-May' B1, N1, AD1.
I also want the info on columns C, D, F, G, J, and K to pull only the info for that month depending on the dropdown selection.
For sample purposes, I added dates that have passed, and have not yet passed, just so you can see what January would look like mid-month.
