Hey everyone,
I’ve always worked in the automotive industry—it’s been my life. I started as a car valeter, moved my way up to service advisor, and eventually became a sales executive for VW, Audi, SEAT, and Skoda. It’s been over 10 years of hard work and learning the ins and outs of the trade.
Recently, though, I was made redundant, and the job hunt has been brutal. I’ve applied everywhere, sent out countless CVs, but nothing’s come back. It’s been discouraging, to say the least.
So, instead of waiting around for something to happen, I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands. I’m starting my own business in used car sales! My plan is simple: buy used cars, fix them up myself (repairs, cleaning, the works), and resell them. Every bit of profit will be reinvested to grow the business, with the long-term goal of holding stock and even getting my own pitch or showroom someday.
I’m confident I can make this work—this industry is second nature to me at this point—but I could use a little help getting started. I’ve launched a GoFundMe to raise £2,000, which will go toward buying my first cars and the tools to get them ready for sale.
I know times are tough for everyone, but if you can spare anything to help me get this dream off the ground, I’d be incredibly grateful. Even if you can’t donate, just sharing the campaign or offering words of encouragement means a lot.

2024.11.26 14:39 Kawabunta Pyramid was not that bad

First time DQ3 but not first DQ (1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 11). Began the draconian journey blind as a solo tough biscuit because me and my boomerang/sword don't need help from strangers and I didn't find it role-play to hire mercenaries (will certainly do it later though after the main quest for the fun of it or even replay the game with a team). By reading a lot of posts saying so I entered the pyramid expecting to die a gruesome death, crushed by a difficulty wall. Well, no prob really and except return every rock on the map, never had to grind until now. Was level 22, escaped at level 26 with a bit of dust on my armor. Looking forward to higher difficulties onwards!
PS : this game is a bomb! PPS : boomerangs are completely OP.

2024.11.26 14:38 mintyoddity Any ideas on how to rework or repupose a masters in classics?

I (29m) finished a PhD prep masters in classics about a year ago, I was advised by my head of department just before I finished the course, that I should try to move diagonally or laterally, rather than go straight onto a PhD, as finding has been cut across Europe and in general. I've been working as a manager of a retail store for over 3 years to pay for my university fees, but in the year since I finished, I haven't been able to get a job in any museums or in the heritage sector etc. I have gotten a few interviews and offers for other management and retail jobs, but after 5 years of university, I would like to think that that would open a few doors.
I've been considering going back to university either for a year full time or doing a part time course, and have been thinking about tourism or heritage site management, but I'm hesitant as I don't want to end up in the same position I'm in right now. I don't know what areas have any opportunities right now, or if there's a more obvious move I should make, basically I've accepted I won't get to do classics anymore, but I'd love to use some of those skills and knowledge I've gained, or get to work in something even tangentially related. So I'd anyone has any suggestions I'd really appreciate it

Hi there! I am about to graduate nursing school in March and am wondering about the average timeline of NCLEX and hiring in the Denver area.
Almost all new grad residencies in the area do not have a start date until July/August. Which to me seems SO far away from my graduation and it is stressing me out!!!! I work as a nurse extern at a hospital and so am hoping I am able to just land a job on a desired unit there before graduation but if not… Is 5/6 months how long you had to wait to actually start your RN career after graduation??
