I've been discreetly avoiding seeing certain people since the election, but I feel like I'd rather make a decision on what to do rather than just phase people out like a coward. I have a strong moral compass that I follow unforgivingly, and the hate and bigotry of the Trump administration has to place in my life. Some of my best friends voted for him this time, which threw me for a total loop.
I've been through a lot. I (21M) was raped as a child by a sports coach and obviously that's affected me through my adult years. I like to think that everything I went through afterwards has made me a more compassionate person. I struggle with the fact that by supporting someone like Trump, these people in my life have shown me how little compassion they have for others.
I don't want to throw away years (in one case, over a decade) of friendship over this. But I think I'm also getting to a point in my life where I have to choose who I want my village to be through my adult life. It feels silly to burn bridges over politics, but this also feels like it's no longer politics. This is now a human rights discussion. Sorry for the rant, I'm just incredibly conflicted.

2024.11.26 15:14 amh524 Purpose of Medrol pack?
I just got diagnosed with lupus and I have a neurological (myasthenia gravis) condition. The rheumatologist initially prescribed Plaquenil and when I asked if I could take it with my MG, he said it should be fine, but my neurologist said no. Now my rheumatologist has prescribed a Medrol dose pack which I guess is a high dose steroid that quickly titrates down. My understanding is that the Plaquenil was prescribed to bring down inflammation and how prevent the lupus from causing ongoing damage, but what is the point of this Medrol? Is it to control a flare? Because I don't know that I am particularly flared right now. I am already on low dose of a different steroid (prednisone) and have been for a year and a half. My neurologist doesn't have a huge issue with me taking the Medrol, but I just want to understand the why. Since getting my MG diagnosis I have become a bag of medicine. Right now I feel pretty good and I don't want to put additional meds in my body unless it will have a long term positive effect. I also take IVIG infusions every 2-3 weeks.
I appreciate your feedback. I know y'all aren't doctors or at least not my doctor but I am just trying to gain some understanding so I can better advocate for myself.

2024.11.26 15:14 TravelingRomantic I'm running into weird setup issues.
I'm on the first screen of the Meta Quest 3 setup — literally, the select language screen. This is a used headset, so I'm not sure what it's been through before, but it should have been damage free. What's happening is this: I turn on my headset and put it on. Everything lights up and I'm at the language select screen. I activate both controllers, but every few seconds the screen kind of jumps or flashes, like I'm recentering it. I also have to trigger both controllers again at this point, and as soon as I try to move on, the line disappears (and I'm assuming it loses tracking.)
Unsure if relevant, but the select language screen remains centered no matter which way I turn my head. It isn't set in a physical space. Everyone tells me to update my firmware, but I can't progress far enough into the menus to do that, so I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do. Any help would be much appreciated.
