There is definitely a "cult of the new" in board gaming, we all want that feeling of buying that cool looking new game.
BUT just remember, new to you, is still just as new! I've lately been going through finding some older games I've missed, and I have to say, it's been great. Way better then backing the latest thing on Kickstarter.
One of the games I just got is Lancaster (from 2011), and I gotta say, it's fantastic. The voting for what scores is such a great and fun mechanism! How does that game not get recognition? And how come we don't see other games using that mechanism?
It would have been super easy to just keep looking at the new stuff, but now I've found a game that's become one of my favorites, and I'd have missed it if I didn't look back to older games to find something new to me. I can't recommend doing this enough!
Have any of you done this recently? Found any older gems that are still amazing today?

Hi everyone, I’m 29 years old and work as a data analyst for a government entity. I came to Canada back in 2020 from the United States to attend a masters program, and have been here ever since.
When I was growing up, I always aspired to live in Canada, since I thought it was one of the coolest countries in the world. I’m happy to say that I achieved my dream (and even was able to get PR), but now I have serious doubt about what I should be doing next.
I’m fortunate to have my MBA, and I’m fortunate to be making around $90,000 annually. While I know I’m doing better compared to a lot of people, my salary isn’t strong enough to purchase any sort of property or upgrade my current lifestyle. I live a pretty modest lifestyle, driving a 20+ year old car and renting a “cheap” apartment (but even that costs $1,600 per month).
I’m at a bit of a crossroads of what I should do next. I’m grateful that I was able to achieve my dream, but I’m not sure it would be responsible to live like this forever. I wonder if it might be a better decision to explore careers back home in the states, and work towards my other goals (like home ownership or even driving a new car for the first time). Luckily, I have no debt whatsoever, so I can start fresh if I really wanted to.
I’m just curious to hear what you would do if you were in my situation. Thanks in advance!

-Its been around 4 years since I was in a help desk position, I was focused on cybersecurity which the job market is flooded.
Current Certs- A+, Net+, Cyber (Sec+, SANS GCIH and eLearn Security JPT)
Expired Certs - CCNA and SANS GCIA but still have about 90% knowledge
-Windows Server 2019 Active Directory (hands on but haven't documented my work), DNS, DHCP, AD Sites and Services, Trusts, GPO's, Printers (Server, local and network) printers, Shares, RAID (Never troubleshooted an array), Permissions and Inheritance,
-CCNA material had my CCNA but it expired just need about a week to go over my notes.
-Half way through AWS Cloud Practitioner course wih AWS Academy. Current hands on labs to set up AMI accounts, EC2 instances, ACL and firewall policies, Lambda, Beanstalk. Comming up I will have hands on knowledge setting up Database Servers, Scaling, Load Balancing and EBS.

when I stop I get very anxious and also already struggle to make 2 meals a day regardless so as you can imagine that becomes much more if a struggle. what I am going to do is count how many bowls I smoke today and then figure out exactly how many to limit myself to each day going down over a period of like two weeks...does anyone have any advice for eating/getting to sleep etc. while I'm doing that ? weed has always been a lot harder to quit for me than I see other people do it, like I get night sweats and insomnia to the point of actually not sleeping at all the first couple nights and most people look at me like I'm crazy when I say that. I was just wondering if anyone is similar and had any advice to help make this go easier :)
