Hi everyone,
I’m a 20-year-old who has been struggling with sleepless nights for as long as I can remember. Falling asleep feels like a daily battle, and it’s exhausting. Even when I manage to sleep at 2 or 3 AM, I wake up early feeling tired, with a dull face, and I rarely feel refreshed. Sleeping for a full 8 hours is like a dream that has never come true—probably 99% of my life.
The biggest issue is overthinking. Even when my eyes feel sleepy, my mind refuses to quiet down. I’ve tried many methods to fix this, but nothing has worked so far. Here’s what I’ve tried:
- Controlling my thoughts: Doesn’t work, no matter how hard I try.
- Peaceful self-talk: Also doesn’t help.
- Reaching bed early: I’ve tried going to bed around 12, but I still only fall asleep around 2 or 3 AM. Some nights, I can’t sleep at all.
- Sleeping pills: They worked but felt like a temporary solution, so I stopped using them.
- Relaxation techniques: I’ve dabbled with ASMR, counting numbers, visualizing peaceful scenes, imagining a black room, and listening to rain sounds. I admit I haven’t tried these methods consistently or effectively, but the results were discouraging when I did.
My main struggles:
Overthinking that keeps me awake.
Breaking this cycle of poor-quality sleep.
Achieving consistent, restful sleep.
I’ve heard about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for sleep issues, but I don’t know how it works or how to start without professional help (therapy isn’t an option for me right now).
Has anyone been in a similar situation? How did you fix your sleep cycle? Especially, how did you overcome overthinking? I’m open to any tips, suggestions, or constructive criticism.

I've had a rough cold and starting yesterday, soft cheese suddenly tastes awful? Like, I made a lasagna soup and tossed the entire thing out after adding the ricotta bc I thought the ricotta went bad. But just now, cream cheese tasted the exact same way. Like, spoiled. It nearly made me vomit and it was the tiniest taste. I've tried googling it but I'm getting very broad answers about conditions I know I don't have. Should I be concerned? And I tried some shredded cheese, it was fine, and milk was fine. Could I have some sort of mouth infection? It just feels a little sudden

 | Hello all! I have a new (as of summer 2023) PC with a 4080 graphics card. These are my graphics settings. In the main area, I get 60FPS other than when using tools. However, in Eternity Isle and Storybook Vale I regularly get frame rate drops from 60FPS to 15FPS and it sits there. I have no idea what to do, please help! I have tried rebooting the game and my PC, and it’ll help for a short time before dropping again.
