2024.11.26 20:20 Mountainpixels SJ reservation fees are now really weird?
The reservation fees for SJ night trains don't make sense anymore.
It used to be that there was a fee for each person (if shared) or for each compartment (if used privately). Now, all reservation fees are per person and don't change if you fill a compartment.
For example:
SJ Night train from Malmö to Stockholm. First class compartments have two berths, you can only book a private compartment, you will never share with a stranger. The reservation fee per person is 750 SEK. So if you travel with another person, it costs to some to book if you book one or two compartments.
On the SJ EN, it's even stranger. A first class compartment used to cost 1490 SEK to reserve (no matter how many people, 1-3). Now it's not per compartment put per person 1490 SEK. So now if you travel as a group of three you can book 3 compartments for the price of one.
For SJ support, this seems to be the most logical thing when I contacted them. Am I missing something? Is the booking system broken?

Hi! I got the M4 Mac Mini to use as my personal computer. I already have a MacBook Pro with M2 Pro that use with an external monitor.
I want to buy another monitor. What would be the cleanest way for hooking two HDMI monitors to a Mac Mini or a MacBook Pro. I don mind plugging one or two cables every time I change workstation, but if I can do it with only one cable that would be the best. Any ideas?

 | This is probably one of those questions that’s been beat to death. Does anyone use this for caliper slide pins? It says it’s safe to use on rubber and all metal parts. I’ve seen the AC Delco brand recommend a lot as well as the CRC Silaramic. I also have this super lube grease but it’s only rated for 450°F, and I figure those pins get warmer than that under heavy use. Especially towing. Working on a 2015 F250 4x4 6.7 Powerstroke that we’ve had to replace calipers on due to seized pins before. Hello Hive,
I’ve finished cladding my sauna and could use your expertise on vent placement.
I’m using a mechanical ventilation system with a Cloudline fan, where the intake vent is at 57” from the floor (T4) and the exhaust vent is at 27” from the floor (P2).
Here are my concerns and questions:
- Is 57” (T4) too low for the intake vent, or is this placement okay? If it should be higher or lower, by how much? It's marked by the green tape mark
- I also plan to add a vent below the heater on the same wall as the intake vent to keep the temperature sensor functioning properly and address UL compliance in the U.S.
- Lastly, based on the photos, vent placement, and door proximity, where is the ideal spot for the temperature sensor?
