I've been learning a lot about Norse Paganism the past few months. I've read the Neil Gaiman book, Asatru for beginners, and am working through the Edda's now, among other things. I tried joining some social media groups and have found them to be less insightful than I hoped (lots of AI art that's historically inaccurate, silly stuff like Thor kitty pictures, and lots of confusion about what's historical and what's Marvel or other entertainment). I also find a lot of online blogs are fictional reimagining's from the authors.
I appreciate all the creativity and I'm not here to tell anyone they're "doing it wrong." But I'm looking for more historically accurate information. Does anyone have some good recommendations?

- a boy is sitting outside his house crying and hugging his dog? or his dad killed the dog? either way his parents were abusive and favored his brother way more
- theres a train scene and i think the trains in the air, yellow shirt guy is killing people on the train and red pinkish power dude kills that one and saves them? the train looks translucent, i think the red guy wanted to recruit him but ended up killing him (this might be the first kid, he mightve decided to become a murderer after a shitty past, i think his parents blamed him for his brothers death?)

2024.11.26 21:40 tacopower69 I wish I installed SCS my first playthrough.
I first got into baldur's gate a year or 2 after the enhanced editions were released. I was a teenager and not super experienced with crpg systems (much less adnd) and I still found the gameplay kind of boring. Not to say it was necessarily easy just tedious. Combat quickly became repetitive and once you found a strategy that worked you could just spam it for every fight and win. I put down bg1 a bit early when I saw people online say bg2 was the better experience and ended up finding bg2 much more enjoyable. Throne of bhaal was meh, wasn't a huge fan of the linearity or the fact most fights came solely down to the mages. All in all, however, I didn't understand why the franchise was so highly praised, especially relative to contemporaries like fallout 1 and planescape torment which i fell in love with almost immediately (especially planescape). I felt like 90% of my enjoyment in the franchise came solely from chapter 2 of bg2.
I had a few weeks off and decided I'd give the franchise another go but play through bg1 in its entirety first so I could get the intended experience. Still not a huge fan of the writing but holy crap is the gameplay 100x more engaging with scs installed. boss fights are genuinely hard and I regularly have to use every trick, spell, and item at my disposal. I honestly think scs should be recommended to new players. The mod genuinely makes the game much more engaging.

Hey all,
Currently in a co-op campaign with my buddies. The other 3 are playing the game for the first time. This will be my 5th complete campaign (first co-op. First one I did balanced, next 3 were tactician, last one was honor mode).
I am taking a back seat and letting my buddies experience the game for the first time. I offer guidance when stuck, give little tid bits about game mechanics, etc.
I'm struggling with what build I want to be to really help compliment the party the best.
The team so far (we are currently lvl 7. About to clear the cresh then go to shadow curse land):
- one buddy seems to be going down gloom stalker assassin build (though is solo classing as of now)
- one is a paladin (considering the bardadin)
- the third is pure evok wizard
What build would you all suggest to help compliment the team the best? I'm considering a cleric of sorts, or maybe a unga bunga tiger barbarian.
TL:DR - what build should I be to help compliment my co-op campaign that has a gloom stalker, a paladin, and a wizard
