Long story short, my friend in tax is wondering if offering a suite of financial tools as a employer benefit would be relevant to companies. His employer offers Lyra and he has seen Modern Health but when we were thinking about real stress as a employee, tax came to mind.
With the end of year coming up, we have been been wondering ways to optimize our tax strategy. In general, taxes can be confusing, hard to understand, and stressful.
Would companies be open to a tax solution as a benefit they could provide their employees? Think a TurboTax with the added option to speak with a tax planner to optimize your taxes for a given year. This could extend into financial planning, stock option education, and more.
We spoke to one friend in HR at a ~300 person company and he thought this would be relevant to newer people to the workforce who haven't filed taxes before and used as a recruiting tool as well as potential retention mechanism. In general, he liked the idea but worried about budget within a company to pay for it.
TLDR: Would employers provide a tax filing solution as a benefit to employees? We think we could do this for $5/month.

I am a beginner and I want to implement an example using GTX tranceiver on Kintex-7. Sources I have found often mentioned GTX wizard and IBERT, but I could not find any of these in IP Catalog. Is there a problem with my Vivado installation or those IP cores are no longer available in vivado in the newest versions?
Also does anyone have a good step by step tutorial for this type of application or recommendation where could be a good starting point?

2024.11.27 00:47 JessicaBxx My first Christmas without my mum.

I lost my mum early this year in January. She committed suicide. I’m 19 (was still 18 at the time), and I have two little brothers who are 7 and 13. We also don’t have a dad in our lives. But since my mum passed, my brothers have gone to live with my grandparents and I have stayed in our family home where me, my brothers and my mum lived.
Since my mum passed in January I’ve been extremely depressed to the point where I had to quit my job because I physically and mentally could not do it. My sleep has been completely messed up this whole year and also has my eating habits. I was put on antidepressants but if anything they just made me even worse because they made me feel extremely sick everyday.
Before my mum died I had so many hopes and dreams and ambitions for my future but now I genuinely don’t want anything, I don’t care about anything anymore. I feel like I don’t have a purpose in life. And if I’m being 100 percent honest I don’t want to be here anymore. But I could never do what my mum did. I could never leave my little brothers and cause them even more pain. But I just feel so alone all the time.
With Christmas coming up it has really made my depression even worse. I just can’t believe that my mum won’t be here. If I had it my way I wouldn’t even celebrate Christmas this year and I would just pretend it doesn’t exist. But because of my little brothers I want to make sure that they have a good Christmas (as good as it can be without out mum). My mum always put so much thought and effort into every Christmas and birthday.
But anyway I just wondered if anyone had any advice on how to deal with grief at Christmas time? Or any advice just in general?
Also I just wanted to add that my mum was only 34 (she died 10 days before she would’ve turned 35). She had me when she was only 16.

I am once again on the lookout for a close friend who I can hang with every now and again!

Anyway, here goes, I like:

2024.11.27 00:47 handyandy4120 W2T Shou Wuick Reviews Pt. 1

Doing some quick reviews as I try to power through my shou samples before putting in my black friday order at W2T. All teas brewed at boiling, ~5-6g in a 100ml gaiwan.
En Passant 2023: Aroma definitely had those stonefruit notes with a light woody backbone. Early steeps had a vaguely spicy aroma going on as well. Pretty thin mouthfeel on the soup, color faded from very dark to pretty light within a few steeps. Flavor was pretty mineral forward with a light fruity sweetness backing it up. There was a refreshing astringency and while the tea wasn’t sweet when tasting it, I definitely got a lingering mineral-sweet flavor that lasted a while after. Very nicely rounded tea. Depending on how I like my other samples I can see myself grabbing a cake of this.
Pretty Girls 2022: Aroma extremely yeasty bready smell with some fruity notes in the background. I swear i could have had my nose in a ball of bread dough after a rise. Color was very light for a shou at first, but I think that was due to the sample being pretty tightly pressed since it darkened a bit in later steeps.. Flavor was exactly like the aroma, like biting into a slightly underbaked bread roll (in a good way if that makes sense). Some bitter notes which made for a nice balance but were a not my favorite in the early steeps. No fruityness or sweetness at all on the first steeps. Finally got some sweet notes around steep 5, along with a solid huigan. At this point the tea really clicked for me, definitely a lesson in not giving up on a tea if you’re not super into the early steeps. Overall a very interesting tea. The cakes are sold out but this one is a great tea to have some minis of for variety in my opinion.
Gingerbread Man 2022: Aroma was extremely sweet. Molasses, syrupy notes. Not sure if it’s ginger (I think the name is putting me in that mindset) but there are some lightly spicy/floral notes just barely there. Mellowed out a bit but maintained the same profile until steep 5 where a light fruity note came through. Mouthfeel wasn’t too thick on this one. Color took a while to darken from the tight pressing but was very dark once fully opened. Flavor was really nice, sweet but in a more fruity way than the aroma would have lead me to believe. Some light astringency that kept it refreshing too. The sweetness lingered in the mouth a while which is really nice. Developed just a slight bitterness in later steeps which was great for adding a bit of depth. Nothing too crazy other than that in the flavor but very enjoyable. Overall I really like this shou. I’ve found myself more drawn to sweeter shous as I’ve tried different varieties so this is definitely up my alley.
