I’ll keep it short. I’ve asked my parents for years if they could give a quick knock on the bedroom door before they open it.
The way we all grew up as a family, no locks on the door and no knocking. When I moved out, I discovered privacy was a thing and that one could actually KNOCK to let a person know you are about to enter their private space.
Withe this new invention, one has time to throw some pants on if they’re chilling in their underwear. Or stop masturbating if they are or what have you. And incredible thing, I’ve discovered.
And, it’s free and costs $0, and no more than 3 seconds of someone’s time.
So why, despite all of these benefits, is knocking before opening the door such a foreign concept to some people? To me, it seems it ought to be a basic part of socialization.
I do understand, having privacy is a luxury and a privilege. But if one has the means to be able to indulge in it, with such a simple act as knocking before entering, why does it escape some people’s minds? What is going on with them, psychologically?
I did not keep it short 😂
TL;DR: what is the thinking process behind not knocking on the door before entering a space? It avoids soo many awkward situations and its so simple and free. And takes very little time.

2024.11.27 00:47 IllEatYourSkull Feel like my life is kind of falling apart.
I swear ever since I became a legal adult, I’ve just been knocked on my ass time and time again.
Someone totaled my car in January and now wants to sue me for it because they didn’t get enough pay out from the insurance. On top of that, I got fired today with no write up because I came in late and had to take a very important phone call from my legal team. (I’ve been late before a few times. I also did inform them that I very much had to take this call and they said it was fine.)
I’ve been struggling with my mental health and this really takes the cake. As if I wasn’t dirt poor already.
Trying to stay positive but sometimes feels like I can’t catch a break.

Has anyone installed a heated steering wheel? When I bought my ‘23 at the time there weren’t any with heated steering because of the chip shortage. I figured I’d lived without it for years so it wouldn’t be a big deal but now facing another winter without it I really miss it. It’s possible to buy a heated steering wheel online, actual ford replacement, but not sure what else would need to be added or how difficult this would be with the airbag, etc.
Curious if anyone has personal experience with this. Thanks in advance.

I was involved in a motorcycle accident some months back. I was out from work for a couple weeks and was left with some bruised ribs and road rash throughout my body. Car stopped and helped me up and moved my motorcycle, but then proceeded to leave after I refused to take his $100 to fix the motorcycle and medical bills. Police was able to identify the driver and he is an undocumented immigrant and now has a warrant for his arrest. The car is registered and insured through the drivers “ex-girlfriend” but insurance claimed no coverage because driver was specifically excluded from any coverage. Medical bill came out to $26,500 which my health insurance covered $23,000 so Im left with a $3500 balance and motorcycle repairs came up to around $500 in parts since I did them myself. My question is, can I sue the vehicle owner (drivers “ex”) for negligence for allowing an excluded driver to drive her vehicle? She claimed to the police that the car was stolen but never reported it. I just want to get the money for the medical balance, I refuse to pay for something I did not cause. Thank you!

Los colombianos parece que fueran unos putos primates sin raciocinio alguno, mas tardó el Reino Unido en abrir la posibilidad de viajar sin Visa a que los imbeciles aprovechados y vivos (estúpidos que creen que hay que ser "avión en esta vida") dañar ese beneficio. Sinceramente este pais es una chimba en muchos aspectos, pero la falta de educación es una porquería. Lo unico que salva a este país es la educación, pero si se llegara a dar ese cambio se vería por allá en unas 5 generaciones. Por mi parte seguiré siendo un buen ciudadano aportando al país desde las pequeñas aciones que se pueden llevar a cabo.
