A mailman came to my rescue today after someone nailed my car and drove off without giving his info. He saw the whole thing happen, got pictures of the license plate, and even calmed me down as I was trying to call the police/assess damage/etc. He was so calm, and reassured me that it was all going to be OK and then shared the photos with me over text.
How can I give him a shout out/kudos to his boss/office? Unfortunately he isn't my mailman, but I know the street he was delivering on.

2024.11.27 01:31 Knightraiderdewd “Izuku did WHAT with his own intestines?!!”
“He strangled me with them, sir.”
Aizawa just stared at him. Iida just stared back.
“This isn’t the time for joking.” Aizawa said seriously.
“I’m not joking, sir.” Iida replied just as seriously.
Just then Izuku was walking into the control room, and saw Izuku. The front of his costume was torn, and had a massive blood stain on it, but he otherwise seemed to be moving normally.
Aizawa waved him over, and waited for him to approach.
“Yes sir.” Izuku reported obediently.
“What happened when you and Iida were out of camera range?”
Izuku hesitated, looking clearly nervous all of a sudden. Aizawa folded his arms, and waited. Eventually, Izuku said, “I guess I got carried away, and tried to tangle Iida, and accidentally choked him.”
“With what, exactly?” Aizawa asked expectantly. He’d given them capture tape explicitly so they could capture each other without hurting anyone.
“My lower intestines.”
Tired of what had to be a joke, Aizawa just ordered them away and got back to the combat training with the rest of their class.
Later, in his office, while he was going over the combat footage, and making notes on a tablet, Present Mic approached.
“So I hear talk Midoriya weaponized his own guts.”
“A stupid joke.” Was all Aizawa said, without even looking away from the screen. He was going over Midoriya and Iida’s fight at the moment, and didn’t see how he could’ve possibly done such a horrific thing.
Unfortunately Bakugo playing fast and loose with his gauntlets had knocked out several cameras, including the one behind the building Iida and Ochaco had hidden the bomb.
During the fight, Midoriya had dive tackled Iida out the rear window, where he lost visuals of them.
It was when he was reviewing this part of the footage that he noticed something.
“Hey, look there.” Present Mic said, having noticed it too as Aizawa rewound the footage.
Sure enough, as the two students went through the window, they saw a piece of the metal bars on the fire escape drag across Midoriya’s stomach, and just before they vanished, could clearly see blood beginning to pour from his belly.
“That’s a pretty bad wound.” Mic pointed out.
Aizawa said nothing. He remembered the bloodstain on the front of his costume, but hadn’t seen any wound. He’d had Recovery Girl examine all of them after the combat training, as was protocol for all first years, and she hadn’t reported Midoriya having any wounds.
He even double checked the reports, and sure enough, Midoriya had no reported injuries.
Curious, he checked Midoriya’s file. He only had one quirk listed, which was super strength. It didn’t say anything about a healing quirk.
He sighed, and shook his head.
“He should keep his registration up to date.” Aizawa said, fully intending on making that part of the next day’s lesson.
“Hey, have you checked any of the other cameras in the area?” Present Mic asked then, “There’s plenty in the alleys, maybe one of them caught what happened.”
“I don’t have time.”
“No worries, Detective Mic is on the job!” He walked over to his desk, and turned on his computer.
Aizawa went on with tracking Bakugo’s part of the fight through the various camera feeds. A few minutes later, Present Mic screamed as if he’d seen a monster.
“What?” Aizawa jumped, and looked at him.
“It wasn’t a rumor!” Present Mic said, looking horrified. He started clicking with his computer mouse as Aizawa hurried over and looked.
He felt a child run through his spine as he saw that Iida had, in fact, not been lying. A camera on one of the buildings a short distance away from where it happened, and just barely in frame, they could see what had happened.
Midoriya’s intestines were hanging out from the huge gash in his gut, and he had a part of it wrapped around Iida’s neck as they were wrestling on the ground.

“Izuku did WHAT with his own intestines?!!” Inko asked, horrified as she and her son stood before Principal Nezu in his office the following day.
“It was an accident.” Izuku said impulsively.
Inko grabbed the front of his shirt and pulled it up, looking at his stomach. Aizawa took the chance to see for himself.
To his surprise, he didn’t even see a scar, which most healing quirks would still leave. Inko rubbed his skin, clearly looking for a wound, or scar as well.
“I’m fine, Mom.” Izuku said, blushing as the adults all looked at him. When she let him go, he hurriedly tucked his shirt back in.
“Were you aware you had a healing quirk, young man?” Nezu asked then.
“No sir.” Izuku said. To be fair, it wasn’t entirely a lie. He had figured out how to heal himself using the Method, but that was the worst one he’d healed so far. So far he hadn’t felt any problems, so he was sure he’d done it right.
Nezu nodded, and then smiled, “Well, I do think we need to have a serious talk about your tactics, as I don’t think this kind of thing should happen again, I do believe this is a very good thing. A healing factor combined with a super strength quirk is extremely useful, though I think it would be prudent if you updated your quirk registration.”
“Yes sir.” Izuku said.

This is just an idea for a scene from a story I’m working on.
The Method mentioned is the Hercules Method from Luther Strode. It’s also known as the Murder Method
I don’t know if I want to use this scene shot for shot, but I thought it was entertaining.

My Ducky One 3 is great, I love it but it has problems in my office when pc goes to sleep. We have lightweight windows terminals and rdp to a remote windows box - when the terminal goes to sleep the keyboard gets confused and I have to unplug in and plug in again - sometimes reboot the terminal. I've trawled the group, seems other people have similar problems. I"ve updated my firmware and tried a powered USB hub but no joy.
So I'd like something just like my Ducky with its solid quality, nice colors, and extra padding, but from a different manufacturer. Any recommendations?

2024.11.27 01:31 cblankity A friend of mine has gone back to an abusive relationship again, and I'm not sure if I want to resume the friendship.
I know that it's a very cold title, but I feel like I have given all I can to helping my friend and I don't think I can be around this situation.
I won't go into too much detail, but there's been some mental health issues and mutual abuse between the both of them. However, I sincere believer her to be the main instigator of issues. I've known her to push his grandmother to the ground in a rage, try to gas light my friend into thinking that he was actually the result on an affair (I believe done so to isolate him from his family), as well as try to limit contact between him and his friends.
The worst of it, is that they have a daughter who was taken off them, and eventually ended up In the care of his parents. She's since tried lying about the standard of care they're providing the baby in order to get their guardianship revoked. Which would turn the child back over to the state.
She was actively trying to take her child out of a loving home, back into the system, purely out of spite (there's no chance this could of resulted in her regaining custody).
This eventually ended up with him being kicked out during one of her (literal) unmedicated (diagnosed) bi polar mood swings, where she would just yell bloody abuse for no reason. There's been multiple times where he's had to move into my bedroom, because she's kicked them out of her council house.
Through it all, I've been supporting him, emotionally, financially and given up a huge amount of my personal comfort and time. It's now at the point where I don't think I want to invest anymore time into this situation, and I feel like the time I have spent supporting him has just been wasted and thrown back into my face.
Maybe I'll tell him that I can't be his friend if he choses to return to such an unhealthy situation, but that I won't see him living on the street and will provide him with emergency accommodation if need be.

Okay, so just throwing things out there while everyone is discussing things along the lines of freshening up the game via 6-8 worker start to bring back more strategic variance to the early game. Hear me out..
What if we reintroduced 3-4 player maps, but revealed the starting position of your opponent on the minimap at the start of the game?
This could create a lot of variety in maps and a more exciting and dynamic map pool, as well as potentially have pro level matches become more exciting from a viewer perspective if a “lesser” player were to have a certain build planned out on a certain map that’s really only possible in certain spawn positions to take a map off of a better player. Which could go a long way in a 5 or 7 game series.
A basic example of this would be close air spawns might lend itself to sky being more viable, whereas cross spawn might create more of standard game. The list of examples and possibilities goes on of course, but I’m sure you get the idea.
Revealed positions would take out the randomness of scouting the wrong starting location and losing games to a build order loss as a result(to put it simply).
Just a thought. Would be interested in hearing everyone’s take. Mostly just like discussing SC2!
I feel like there’s a lot of potential to explore here!

Spirit Airlines recently declared chapter 11 bankruptcy and delisted itself from the NYSE. Its symbol is now SAVEQ, and is trading OTC. The problem is that its options are also trading OTC, and they’re not allowing themselves to be closed conveniently.
I’m assuming that if I want a SAVEQ option closed early, Fidelity would have to do this for me. Would this involve a broker assisted trade fee? If so, would that be 1 fee per contract closed?

Due to a recent worker change, if you make a gas with a probe, and you shift queue another command, the probe will sit at the gas forever and fail to do the subsequent commands.
For example you're making 2 gas realy quick, the probe will set there an entire minute until the first gas is done, mines the gas, THEN proceeds to do what it's supposed to do.
NOTE: The probe has to reach the vespene geyser first, or else the bug will not occur.
Please fix. This really sucks as a protoss player.

I have been running consistently for about 6 years. When I was really dedicated I would run around 130 to 150 miles per month. About a year ago my knee really started to bother me. I went and got an MRI and was told that everything looked good except a torn meniscus. I had the minor surgery and was told after 6 to 8 weeks I should be back to running again. This has been about 8 months and the pain is still there. I went for a second opinion and was told it’s arthritis and I should stop running. I would prefer not to have to stop, but not sure what else to do. Now I’m running maybe 40 miles per month and there are days where it’s quite painful. Am I heading for running retirement?
