Hello everyone, I’m partially new to the Lucid Dreaming world…and I say partially because I’ve just realized a good amount of my childhood I was able to lucid dream, however, many of these dreams turned into nightmares, and sleep paralysis. I would every now and then be able to “choose” what happened in my dream, but often I would know I was dreaming, but feel like I was “stuck.” To wake myself up, I would have to find a corner of a room or place in my dream, count to 3 while sitting and holding my legs in my arms, with my head tucked. It usually worked, but sometimes it didn’t. I do remember dreaming I woke up a few times when I actually didn’t.
Now that I’m older, I’m ready to try and lucid dream again, with obviously a lot more maturity and control. I’ve been keeping a dream journal, trying my best to do my reality checks, but haven’t been able to successfully lucid dream. I know I can because I did it before, I just can’t figure out how to get it started again. I don’t even know how I did it when I was younger…every night, when I would lay in bed and prep for sleep, I would start to imagine a scenario or story in my head (usually something to do with my crush at the time LOLLL) and it would turn into a lucid dream.
Does anyone have any advice on how to kickstart it? I know this is a super common question…but advice is always appreciated. The more I talk about it, the more I feel like it may happen!

2024.11.27 01:49 Klomlor161 Is there a way to calibrate location?
Lately on my iPhone 13 I’ve noticed that when I open the Apple Maps app, it says my location is about 200-500 feet inaccurate (example: the other side of the parking lot), and it sometimes lasts up to a minute before fixing. Is there a way to calibrate the GPS so this doesn’t happen, or at least doesn’t last as long?

I have battlefield 1 and enjoyed a good amount and I'm thinking about playing battlefield 4, I have it on EA but I noticed that there is the final stand and dragon's teeth DLC and I have clinical FOMO, should I just play the game first to see if I like it and if I do is it worth to wait until there's another sale on steam to get battlefield 4 premium for cheap (which I'm assuming has all the DLC) , and are these the only two DLC to worry about? In general? Are they even worth it or is the base game fine?

A psychologist told me I hold my pencil wrong and that it’s indicative of a mental disorder. My professor said the same about my positioning being wrong and said I write to the left but that it’s not a problem as long as it’s consistent (architecture school). But I struggle with consistency a lot. Maybe you’ll see it in my writing. I added the way I write in an “architectural” style.

I’m slowly being swayed toward the Boglehead way, kicking and screaming along the way about wasting “time in the [international] market”. Looking backwards in modern technological time, VXUS feels like the scrawny little brother of VTI or VOO. Yet, I understand that history does not foretell the future. So, how about a little compromise:
70% VOO (S&P 500), 10% AVUV (US small cap value) + 15% VXUS (Ex-US) + 5% AVDV (Ex-US small cap value) /Not including other cash equivalent holdings/
Is BND/X really necessary at 42 years old if you already hold a lot of other money market, CDs, and US Govt treasuries (plus some real estate rental investments)?

Help!! My Timmy isn't eating and is losing weight!
My little runt dragon Timmy hasn't eaten anything in 2 days! I usually wouldn't worry, but he's just laying around with his eyes closed, and he's losing weight (I can see the tip of his pelvis on his tail).
I dont know what happened 3 days ago he eat a bunch of crickets and was active and fine! Now he's lethargic, sleeping a lot, not eating, losing weight, and he's not as inquisitive as he usually is! But his color, breathing, temps, lighting, and enclosure are perfect!
I DESPERATELY NEED ADVICE!!! Is this just Brumation? Or is it something more serious?
