2024.11.27 02:24 chapinaxoxo I bumped the back of someone’s car, game them all my information but they chose not to file a claim.

Hi all,
I live in chicago and i bumped into the back of a person’s car. I fully agree that this was my fault. I got out of the car and took responsibility by giving my insurance/license information and took pictures of the incident. The car was very minimally scratched and didn’t have any dents or any other damage.
Fast forward 3 days and the person said they decided not to file a claim with their insurance but they’re asking me for $650 to repair the minimal scratches. Am I liable for paying this full amount and can I just give her like $100 in good will to get a paint pen or something that matches the car? $650 seems ridiculous for those minimal scratches, and I’m not sure if I should tell her to file a claim if she’s unhappy with my $100. Please let me know your thoughts.

Got hired this month and haven’t gotten any hours. Should I reach out to the driver’s number that they gave me? Or reach out to anyone at all? I’d rather have just applied for unemployment if I knew this would be the case…

2024.11.27 02:24 norse7575 Can't hear guitar fx plugin while playing -or- during playback

I have the 2i2 and cakewalk; using built in guitar effect (from TH3).
I can only hear my clean guitar via direct monitoring.
I have the auto echo button on and the DAW is receiving the signal.
I have tried both abling and disabling monitor playback and it makes no difference
ALSO: when I record the guitar with fx, the playback also does not have it... which makes me think the plugin is not being recorded at all? I don't get it.
any help is appreciated thanks!

2024.11.27 02:24 Nearby_Switch_5987 Keeping the area around a firepit warm

Hey! I'm envisioning creating some type of enclosure around my firepit area to retain some heat to make it cozy in winter. I'm thinking some type of brick or stone walls just high enough that when you're sitting around the fire, it covers you. And maybe there's some type of reflective material inside?
In my ideal world I make it look really cool and Hobbit-ish.
I feel like something like this must be a thing that people do. Can anyone help me out? I tried looking it up but nothing comes up.

2024.11.27 02:24 sassiesgirl Cigarette company doesn't know I have cost then thousands over the years and still do.

So I have smoked cigarettes for many years. At one time I was a faithful Marlboro only smoker. When they came up with Marlboro miles that were on the cigarette pack and you saved the miles to purchase items. It was a great advertising gimmick for them. You would trade your miles for items such cowboy hat, tshirts, jackets, tents, and other sports and outdoors items. I believe they had a pool table as one the top items. When it was announced that they were going to stop the promotion and you had to a certain date to order items and were allowed a max of 6 items. I gathered all the miles and ordered 6 items and sent a check with the miles and order for the shipping charges. After a couple of months I received a letter from Marlboro stating the items I had ordered were not in stock and on back order. I would receive the items in about 4 - 6 weeks. Ok that's understandable I can wait. After about 2 months and nothing, I called the company and was told the items were still back ordered. Keep in mind I had sent a check for the shipping and the check had been cashed. After another 3 weeks or so I called the company again. The guy I talked could not find my order. I told him I had my cashed check and a copy of the order I had sent. The guy was very rude, he told me it didn't matter if it's not there then I am probably trying to scam him. He basically called me a liar. I got so mad about it, I told the guy "if you guys need to rip people off and need the money that bad you just keep it but I will never buy a pack in your lifetime or mine". Here is revenge, I know that one person isn't going to make or break a company. But, think about this....to this day since around 2005 I have never purchased a pack of Marlboros. Figure a pack every other day. Anyone ask me to pick them up a pack, nope I don't buy that brand. Anyone offer me a cig, nope I don't smoke Marlboros. Anyone mention Marlboro, I would tell them a story. Several friends that smoked Marlboros switched. It's kind of petty but it makes me feel better that I have not supported a company that blatantly ripped me off. That's 3,726 packs + thousand other packs not purchased + future packs not purchased. So I have cost them thousands for the price of some merchandise that cost them pennies. Just wanted to finally put it out there of petty grudge against Marlboro. Never go for their promotions, you can't count on what they advertise.

2024.11.27 02:24 gingertea657 Does flanking not cause the flat footed condition and if so how dose this factor in to AC with a negative dex?

In myy group that I play with I was always told that flanking causes flat footed which as proven somewhat annoying when we fight large or bigger monster that have negative dex cause technically there flat footed AC is higher than the regular AC. I was just doing some research on conditions and combat rules and happened to reread flat footed and flanked but in but neither say that you are flat footed when flanked. For context I was using d20pfsrd.com maybe Archives of Nethsis says other wise or as I said earlier it's a house rule

2024.11.27 02:24 karthik_20 Public IPv6 on jio mobile hotspots without firewall

I am using my Poco F4 hotspot during WFH (rarely). My Ubuntu laptop gets public IPv6. And my laptop is accessible via SSH (remote access protocol) from other device conected to Airtel ISP. Jio routers have firewall so the outside traffic can be blocked. But it is not incase of mobile hotspots. Anyone can access the files or take access if some ports are kept open without security.
Is this expected ? Or this issue us specific to mobile brand? Any ways to safeguard from hackers?
