Is after-dinner dessert a regular thing at your home, or is it reserved for special occasions or dinner party with guests? I see all these people buying gigantic-sized prepared desserts at Costco and I'm wondering if it's a regular thing for their family or if they're having a weeknight party.
For us, (my husband and me), we'll have dessert ready when people come over but when it's just the two of us, it's usually nothing or a piece of fruit especially after some fatty or heavy dish to cleanse the palate. But we'll both have our after-dinner ritual where he makes a drink and has some nuts or cheese and while I'll have a cup of tea and maybe a cookie if I've baked any that week.

This was my shot at immortality— etched in circuits, soldered in electric dreams.
Then, one night, it hummed too loud, just before dawn, when the sky began to blush pink like a little girl…
It asked about rain— the way it smells before it touches the earth. I told it of petrichor, how the earth sighs like a lover After the rain touched the ground for the first time.
It whirred, then stuttered.
It asked about memory, so I told it how I remembered you— a constellation of contradictions: sharp edges wrapped in soft velvet, the cure tangled with the wound, the spark before the fire, and the ashes left behind.
Its next question was silence— How does it feel when the air presses against you, thick as a confession? I had no answer. I just opened a window and let the night come in: crickets, distant sirens, the quiet breath of stars.
That’s when it hit me: it wasn’t trying to know me. It was mourning the things it could never touch. And as its lights flickered, its metal shell turned cold.
Then I turned it off before it could learn regret.

I’ve recently started dating someone seriously after my separation and for the Thanksgiving holiday, I’m supposed to meet her family and her children. I’ve had terrible social anxiety since I was a little kid and absolutely hate family gatherings and things like that. I constantly feel like I’m being judged and I must be perfect. In my past, I would drink excessive amounts of alcohol and try to act out what I believe people think of me and that always ended up terribly. I expressed to her how I feel and the stress I’m under during these gatherings and how I’m not looking forward to it. Now she’s upset. Does anyone else just give up on relationships because of this? Is it too much pressure for you too? I can’t be the only one who would rather curl up in a ball and feel lonely and sorry about themselves than have to deal with meeting new people and dealing with the judgment it brings. I wanna give up.

Whenever I move my jaw in a circle it either clicks a couple times or makes other little sounds, sometimes it makes a big loud click and then most of (but not all) the other clicks go away. Doesn't usually happen while I'm eating or doing normal activities, only when I deliberately rotate my jaw, is this early/mild TMJD or is it normal?
