 | Our 4 month old Banno got his last round of puppy shots and his rabies shot on Saturday (11/23) and we have had some pretty strange behaviopersonality change since. Banjo has been overly friendly and hyper — but since the shot…he has been more aggressive (when he didn’t show many signs before), he has been more super needy with needing to touch and lick/not being left alone, and loudly crying in crate at night when he’s been fully create trained before this. Me and my husband just feel like he hasn’t been acting like his normal self & have been concerned…. I know Pros use it, but I feel like the difficulty of aiming it when you likely have a sidekick, BR, dmr, or AR as an alternative just doesn't seem worth the risk.

I adopted my brother's Australian Kelpie (8yo SF, "Vivi") when he moved in with his partners, who have cats and do not like Vivi. It has honestly been a bit of a nightmare most of the time, but some moments are also good. To be really honest, I didn't want another dog after my current dog (14yo SF Pembroke Welsh Corgi, "Kate") passes away. But we tried 35 rescues across the country and there was no space for her anywhere, even with a $5k donation.
Anyway. It was a really, really rough start. Viv and Kate did not get along at all and had to be constantly separated. My house was a labyrinth of baby gates. Eventually, with a lot of treats and patience, they became ok with each other. I wouldn't say they're friends, more like workplace acquaintances.
Fast forward to now, I've had her a year last October and we live in a noisy neighborhood and she hears everything. EVERYTHING. I have to constantly have the TV or white noise on. I have several mental health issues and really need quiet sometimes. But whenever it's quiet (TV or white noise off) she barks like crazy. She barks so loud out of nowhere, and scares the living shit out of me, which isn't great for my mental health and well being. I am having a terrible time with it.
When she's in the back yard, she lunges out the door and stands incredibly alert in the middle of the yard. Potties then goes immediately into guard mode again. If she sees another animal on the gate or a nearby rooftop, like one of the many stray cats around here, I have to go physically pull her away and pick up my 60 lb dog and carry her in the house.
Sometimes she seems to just bark for no reason at all. She gets really excited and she's panting and just won't stop barking. Sometimes I can redirect her to a toy, but also sometimes she just seems to go somewhere else in her brain and bark to relieve her anxiety.
She's incredibly anxious all the time. I feel like my dog is suffering. When we couldn't find a rescue to take her, we almost just put her down. Sometimes I wonder if that wouldn't have been the better option for her. Is she miserable? It's almost like we share several mental health issues, which makes me equipped to understand her situation, but also the issues themselves make it hard to stay patient and mindful and not just shout to no avail 90% of the time.
What do I do? Dog whistle? One of those sonic noise things? How do I get her attention when she's on a planet with an anxiety atmosphere? Or, do I instead focus on trying harder to relieve her anxiety overall? Or do both? I don't really have a lot of money, so my resources are constrained but I'm considering Adaptil and Purina Calming Care. Would love any feedback on those products.

Hi everyone, I have just started my fitness journey after many years of being a sedentary couch potato. I am 33M, 212lbs, and 5’9. First goal weight is 200, 190, and so forth until I reach 175.
I recently got an Apple Watch to track my calories and such, but sometimes I hit slumps on days and don’t want to get into the gym. I know that if I saw others getting it in, it would motivate me to knock my session, too.
With that being said, would love to reach out to this community and gain some new workout buddies!

I even tried forcing it out by using the “claws of the hammer” and I actually ended up bending my hammer….
