I major in Mechanical engineering in my bachelor's. But I wish to pursue a deeper and fundamental study of things in master's and I think I shoud major in Physics.
I developed interests in field theories and loved working with tensors for a course on GTR, I also enjoyed working out problems in some basic stellar astronomy courses.
Although I have had multiple research experiences (with optics, GW data analysis, ptv for pgrains), I could not pin point to one place where I am interested in the most.
I thought Ms in theoretical physics would suit me well, but my professors are suggesting I take up projects (in ms and for phd) in interdisciplinary research such as soft robotics etc., since theoretical is nearly saturated. I am so confused and the deadlines for fall 25 admissions are close...
What should I do? Should I choose a Msc(physics in general) and spend some time with coursework before I think about my PhD research?

Hi All,
So I think we have made a mistake with our 10 week old. Background: I have been sleeping on the couch with her in the stroller bassinet downstairs (we have a stand for it and it’s certified for overnight sleep) in the living room. This worked well when she was younger and would wake very frequently for feedings, my husband and I would take shifts so one of us could sleep upstairs in the bedroom. But, now she consistently sleeps 5-7 hours a night and sometimes longer, and is much easier to put back asleep when she wakes.
We have been trying to get her to sleep in her proper bassinet next to our bed upstairs but she just cries and you can’t put her down. We have tried white noise, darkness, swaddle, shushing, feeding to sleep etc. The second I take her back downstairs she is immediately more calm and I can typically put her down to sleep 10 min later.
How can I get my baby used to sleeping upstairs? I think the bedroom just feels unfamiliar and it freaks her out. Not sure what to do or if this has happened to anyone else. We feel kind of dumb for doing this unintentionally. Thank you in advance!

I came across this forum, and my heart broke reading some stories. It broke because I see so much of my fiancee in many of them. I can here in hopes to gain some knowledge and maybe some answers to things I’ve been desperately searching for.
I’ve been with my fiancée for 4 years, he was 4 months sober when we initially started dating and I remember thinking and saying to him maybe that was way too soon for him. But we hit it off so well, we continued anyway. He stayed sober for 2 years. Then things began to plummet fast. He was losing jobs, no car, he was already dealing with a DWI charge, just one thing after another. I became a primary care taker for him. Just getting him to places he needed to be, getting him jobs through friends of mine, trying to push him into healthy directions, but not forcefully…if he would mention something he wanted to do as far as getting sober or therapy or AA I’d jump right on board and help him. He’s been in and out countless times, desperately trying to get back on track, I see he tries. Unfortunately this last year he’s become violent while drinking. I’ve been hurt several times. Yet ive stayed, when he’s come out of those drunken states sometimes he remember pieces and he just cry’s about the things he’s done to me, and asks why I stay, and I told him loving someone is a choice and I believe in him.
I really really love this man. Sober him, was the most incredible human, my best best friend.
recently his behavior while drunk got me kicked out of my home, which destroyed my business because that’s where I run it from, he also hit me so hard he knocked my jaw out of alignment and it needed to be reset.I lost almost everything in the matter of a day due to his drinking. I’ve never ever called the cops on him, but I decided I needed to. He’s currently in jail and the charges are pretty bad, he’s on probation so he’s going to be violated. My heart is absolutely broken.
I felt this was the only way he would ever wake up if there’s a chance for him too. It’s unfortunate, if he got it together years from now and came to find me, I’d take him back. He’s an incredible soul.
I’ll just never know if I’ve done the right thing,…was I wrong? Did I just betray my best friend? I know the things he was doing were wrong they were so wrong, but I know this is a sickness. I feel extremely lost. I just want him to be well and happy and live a full life of good things outside of drinking.

However, I still feel both genders. I just don’t always feel as feminine as I do nonbinary sometimes, and vice versa. Trigger warning mention of needles and tattoos First time posting on here I 28f have a friendship tattoo with my friend j 29f. J and I don't talk much anymore but when we were younger we were inseparable we got matching tattoos when we were younger like literally the same exact tattoo just on different parts of our bodies when mine was getting done it was done mostly with a barbed needle till the guy noticed so mine has more scar tissue in it and is fading from the inside out the tattoo is over ten years old at this point it's not that I hate the tattoo or what it represents but I am sad it's fading the way it is I would not mind putting it somewhere else on my body but I feel bad / odd about covering it up and or replacing it and I'm not sure if I should talk with my friend j about it or not because like I said we barely speak to each other anymore and that's okay she's out there living her life with her little family plus I have no idea what I would put there as a cover up tattoo since it's a kind of thick black line so my question is reddit would I be the asshole for covering up my friendship tattoo and not talking to my friend about it first?

We adopted Toast 2 months ago and love him dearly! He is 11 months old and quite shy. He has no interest in strangers - human or dog. He is not reactive on sight but will get barky if the stranger doesn’t move on (visitors are a big hurdle for us!)
I suspect more socialization and positive experiences will help but I want to respect his nature and not overwhelm him. I think we have been pushing a bit too hard and fast, as we’re pretty social and have friends over often. He is currently in group training and getting more exposure to ‘stranger is not going away’.
So, how did you manage your shy mini and how are they doing today?

 | Got a daith piercing about 6 weeks ago and have been doing exactly as many many people have said to do: spray with saline solution wound wash twice a day, let shower water run over it, and LITHA. Irritation bumps appeared about 2 weeks after piercing and have only been getting bigger. I know daiths are notorious for irritation bumps, but I’m getting worried since they are showing no sign of healing or reducing in size. The only issue I can think of is that I go to bed with wet hair, but I tie it up and put it underneath my head (my piercing is only on the left ear, so I sleep on my right side. I’ve read that the moisture can irritate it, but my piercing is not covered or touched by the wet hair and is very open to the air. Looking to buy a Suburu Forester or Outback before the end of the year and would before a 2024 since it's the last of the generation.
Noticing that the Forester new 2024 stock is basically all Wilderness. The only 2024 Forester financing special I've seen is for the Wilderness as well. In fact, I haven't found any new inventory in any other trim I don't think.
Now I know the end of the year specials have to do with moving old inventory and making room for 2025 product. But why all Wilderness? Did they manufacture the most of these? Were they the least popular trim? Are there any red flags I'm not thinking of?
