It's a rant.
My chancekarte visa was approved, but the dates showed a visa duration of only one month. I had to give my passport back to the embassy for correction yesterday and they said they will need to send it to Germany again for clearance, and that they'll return in a week, but that too isn't guaranteed.
My Chancekarte year starts early December, and this makes things unnecessarily stressful. Not only do I need to book my flights and accommodation, but there's a lot of other preparations I need to do, all of which have come to a halt just because things have become uncertain.
I even resigned from my job after receiving the visa and currently serving then notice period. This is also scary for me becaue they said it will be "sent back to German for clearance," so I hope they don't assess my case al over again. I am scared that I could even get a rejection. If that happens, I am done.
All this stress just because an official there f***ed up with my visa dates. As humans, why can't we realize that simple mistakes while doing work can prove serious for others.
I was initially told by some other people that you can go to Germany and get it corrected from the ausladernbehorde there, so I was about to book the flight and leave. But thankfully, I called the embassy, who told me officials in germany won't correct this and will send me back to my home country.

Currently in my friendgroup there’s no one I can talk to about this so I’m hoping to find some good advice and conversation here.
So after practically living next to each other for half a year, me and my girlfriend have been long distance for about one and a half years now. For me things seemed optimistic as I’m planning to close the gap in 2025 by moving to Finland but after talking to her she doesn’t seem to be so optimistic about it.
Right now is one of our visits which we do about ever month and we’ve had a long talk about our relationship. She said that while she’s happy and we’re the perfectest couple when we’re together, she’s handling the distance part not so well. She said it’s hard for her to keep the romantic connection alive when we’re apart and it it creates such an emotional distance between her and me. To the point where when we see each other she said it’s basically like she has to reintroduce herself for a few days, like meeting a stranger before she reverts back to usual relationship after a few days. She says the flips are really intense because one time we don’t see each other and she looses connection , the other time we’re sitting on each other 24/7 which is too much also.
The tough part is that she said the longer the ldr goes on the more pessimistic she gets about making it. Which is really awful to hear given I’m just now starting to concretely plan my move and I have a 2 month internship in Helsinki coming up even before that. The way I see it so optimistic and she sees it so pessimistic really hurts me right now and the whole conversation felt like a few words away from breaking up entirely.
So I tried to figure out what we can do but she said we already do everything we can like calling, texting, meeting once a month and she made sure to let me know I’m doing everything right and she sees my effort but that just the circumstance are awfully bad to her. She said she wants to try going on because she loves me and doesn’t wanna loose what we have but yeah, the circumstances. I told her it’s okay, I want to figure this out with her as a team but I’m also not gonna trap her in an ldr if that’s what she wants.
So now I feel like I’m just in a waiting game. Like I’m already pre mourning the break up, or waiting on if it’ll hold until the gap closing. I’m really invested in this relationship, she’s my dream partner and we’re so close to closing the gap. We put so much effort into this cause we love each other and now I’m just really insecure going into the next period apart just waiting and hoping if or when she might feel she has to break up. I used to be so secure with her but this obviously changes that. I cried the rest of the day and now I’m writing this in hopes of hearing from couples who had the same or similar experiences and if there’s someone I can even do anymore.
Edit: One thing I forgot to mention is that it became clear I’m not sharing much of my planning I’m doing for the move. I will change that obviously I guess I was just really independent about it and didn’t give it much thought.

I run an insurance agency, with no employees but I do have agents who solicit business under my agency, and I get payments for work they do. I don't pay them anything, they're fully commission status and get paid by insurance companies for any work they do. I only benefit from the payments from the insurance companies that go to me.
I've currently been using my SSN and filing taxes that way but I'm wondering if I should apply for an EIN. Would one be better than the other in my case? Thoughts? Id need to file two tax returns (person and EIN) correct? Thanks for any input.

- I have been reading a previous thread posted here very carefully with regard to the post of a former staff member at a facility. I hesitate to respond.
- What I post here is based only on my personal experience and circumstances.
- While I was employed for a brief time in 1992, it took me until 2018 to apologize on a Facebook page for former students of that facility. That is a span of 26 years but I guarantee you that the students were always on my mind.
- I was afraid that some survivors would hate me and that is their right. I felt that the hate would be deserved because of what I represented. My experience has been the opposite. Some survivors have reached out to me and they have responded with grace and forgiveness.
- When given the opportunity I try to apologize personally to each individual. Hearing a sincere apology from a staff member, even if our times did not overlap, can contribute to healing for everyone.
- Part of that process is offering no excuses. Yes there is reciprocal trauma BUT staff had the opportunity to leave the situation at any point. Survivors did not.
- With positive encouragement from survivors I have chosen to file an affidavit with a law firm to support survivors' cases. Staff can be powerful allies in legal situations. My testimony cannot be discredited in the same manner as survivor stories often are. As part of that process I must accept my own guilt for any of my direct or indirect words or actions.
- As an English teacher I also believe that the stories need to belong to the survivors and should never be appropriated by anyone else - including me.
- My former facility is also VERY active in the media (including social media) with very powerful people operating in the background. I choose to try to counteract that by involvement with a grassroots group of survivors that create their own media to tell the true story.
- My greatest fear is that I can't find some of the survivors that I remember. It is very likely that some of them are dead and I will never have the opportunity to apologize or know that they were safe after leaving that hellhole.
- In conclusion, I am eternally grateful for the support of the survivors. They have chosen to share their stories with me as we seek justice through the legal system with the hope of protecting future generations.

Long post warning, but I'm stuck...
My newly 3 year old and I are having communication issues. She recently joined a 3-6 year old Children's House preschool and she's picking some stuff up from the older kids.
Earlier in the evening she was saying very casually that she hates things. Not in an angry way,, but more just exploring it, I think. She was in the bath and just very casually saying "I hate going potty" (probably true), "I hate Bluey" (definitely not true), etc. But then it moved to "I hate daddy". That is when I stepped in and talked to her about mean words and how our words impact people good or bad (in toddler language).
Later in the evening, she yelled at me about something non-important. It's actually pretty rare that she yells at me but we are on day 3 of dad being gone on a work trip so we are both out of sorts. I was upset but didn't yell. I did talk sternly to her about not yelling at me. We moved on.
At bedtime cuddles, I told her that she is a good kid and everyone makes mistakes and everyone is always learning. We talked about what happened with the mean words and she then told me that I was mean to her. When I asked her to say more, she said when she yelled at me, I got upset with her and that was mean because it hurt her feelings. This is where I am stuck.
Her logic is actually sound because the way I explained mean words making people sad and hurting them, applied to how she felt when I was correcting her after she yelled at me. I am having a hard time explaining to her the difference between using mean words like "I hate x" and what I or her dad are doing when we are correcting her misbehaviors.
This has come up in the past with her in that she takes us correcting her as mean because it makes her feel sad and upset.
I'm so stuck that I don't even know the right question to ask here! So, any advice?

He texts me two days later, says let's do it again. I said sure! He said, he was actually feeling tired, could we do Sunday or Monday? Sunday comes, I let him know early that I will be free in evening. He doesn't respond all day. My heart is broken! I'm hurt!
He texts me the next morning, he's sorry, he was tired. I call it quits and say I'm looking for something more consistent. He says he's really sorry, he didn't think the plans for Sunday were for sure. He thinks we should keep getting to know each other. He says he's looking for something more consistent too!
I say, ok, sorry for confronting you...I don't want that behavior to ever happen again.
He's back home for the holidays for a few days.
TLDR; Am I getting played?
