I know that you should never cry in front of a woman, but what about telling your girl that you have done it before? Am I finished or just being paranoid? Hello,
I have a new M4 Max MacBook Pro 16”.
I also purchased a new Sabrent SSD Enclosure (EC-SNVE) https://amzn.to/4i5i8EV with a new Sabrent 8TB SSD https://amzn.to/3OunyvE
Some facts of my problem:
- The drive connects and is formatted in APFS (Encrypted)
- Once I open a folder from the drive in Finder, it shows icon previews of about 20% of the files then freezes and then within 1 minute macOS gives a “Disk Not Ejected Properly”
- I tried different USB-C to USB-C cables. Same problem.
- I tried different ports on the MacBook Pro. Same problem.
- I returned the enclosure thinking it was a faulty enclosure, got a new one. Same problem.
- I tried it on a friend’s new M4 Max MacBook Pro 14”. Same problem.
- Went back to the store and tried to demonstrate the issue to the seller on their new M4 Mac Mini but to my surprise everything worked perfectly!
Is it a Power delivery issue related to the cabe? If I get a Thunderbolt 4 Cable with better Power Delivery should it help?
Is it because I have an 8TB drive inside?
Any help or pointers would be really helpful.

I'm from Hong Kong and I was planning to travel to Ho chi Minh City during Chinese New Year(which I just realized is also Tet Festival for Vietnam).
I heard everything will be closed during the festival. I was looking forward to getting a Vietnamese style massage or go pud crawling with my hostel but it seems there won't be anything to do.
Is this true and should I cancel my plans and visit at another time?

Academic: 3.97/4 UW, 4.77 W, Class Rank 7/1157, 1520 SAT 5 APs completed so far (Calc AB, Physics 1, World Hist, Human Geo, CSP) with 5s except 4 on PHY 1 and World 30 College units completed from concurrent enrollment classes at community college About to get associates degree in math from community college summer 2025. Courses are rigorous, taking calc III, diff equations, and another misc college class with 6 APs rn. Did Precal and math 2 in 9th grade and AP Calc AB and AP Phy 1 alongside two other APs in 10.
