I am starting a three year B.A at Tel Aviv University this year. I want to make Aliyah and draft when I finish my degree in summer of 2026. Since I will be 21 when I finish, I would like to draft immediately after graduating as to mitigate the age gap between me and the people I will be serving in as much as possible.
But, I also want to do Yom Sayerot with the hopes of getting Gibbush Matkal or Shayetet.
Hypothetically…
Let's say I make Aliyah the summer before my final year of university, do Yom Sayerot and gibbush matkal or shayetet during the academic year. I get selected for a unit that drafts multiple times per year (I know elite units draft once a year in November), and one of those drafts is before I graduate from university. Will the army let me do a later draft date so I can finish my degree? I’m basically trying to work out if I can make Aliyah and start the drafting process while I’m in school, or if I have to wait until graduating to make it work.
Also on a somewhat unrelated note, will having a academic degree and almost fluent arabic help my prospects of getting into an elite unit or does it not really matter?

Hi all. I bought a house that came with one of those Telus $30 a month security systems. I don't want to pay per month remote monitored system and I don't like that the cameras are still on and working but I don't get to see or use the feed. I’m so depressed she got sucked up into a controlling jealous dude who wants to put her on a leash… I feel so bad for her, so often she’s gorgeous sweet kind hearted girls get sucked up into a controlling dude’s feelings and end up giving so many things up in order to make him more secure… he obviously can’t handle a wife being that beautiful and needs to stop. And him saying they always say how beautiful she is and not him, how bitter he’s sounded.. he gives me the ick big time and I wish she would’ve woken up before she was put in her cage.

Here is my basic sorting of the nen chart:
Conjurers/Transmuters: Create Reality Emitters/Manipulators: Control reality Specialists/Enhancers: Change reality
Is this accurate? I thought Enhancers should belong in the "control reality" category, as it involves control over preexisting things, which are more ManipulatoEmission type skills. eg. You can't enhance muscles that aren't already there. Then I realized what a core tenets of Enhancement is: weak, thin arms could become hard as iron and lift up a ton, all without a physical change in muscle mass. Chemical reactions could speed up without anything being added. A pencil could pierce a stone wall, etc. To me, this is kind of changing reality without necessarily showing physical signs of it, which fits as it is the flipside of Specialization, where reality is altered in some noticeable way (the future is changed, stealing abilities, etc.). Sorry if this didn't come across as coherent, would love to here your thoughts.

 | I’m working on some scales for a knife I’m making (blade is from a kit). I needed to estimate the radius of the curve behind the bolster, so I designed some simply radius gauges I can hold up to the knife. Useful enough that I made a series of four gauges with radii going from 10 to 85 mm in 4 mm increments. I nice bonus was that the Prusa sliced recognized the raised letters as a logo and offered to automatically insert code for swapping filament colors. I have met a mother and her child a few of months ago. I am not sure of her child’s level of support is but he stims continuously, non verbal, elopes, no concept of safety, not potty trained, severe echolalia and does not follow one step instructions.
I sat in one of the class to observe for 35 minutes and noticed he was turning on/ off the lights, doesn’t sit and roams around, flat affect face, vocal stims loud, throwing the ring tossed ring across the room and going around destroying other kiddos table time activities. The staff member has to constantly follow him.
This child attends 80% of general education and 20% SpEd for therapies. She’s frustrated that her son is not learning like everyone else in the general education classroom and the staffs are allowing for plentiful breaks for sensory room. She questions why he is taking so much breaks and not in class learning. Why are they not making him sit to study and do his work.
My theory is that she didn’t agree with the professionals when an IEP was created for more special education and less general education. She advocated for her son to be in general education the max that he can get.
I guess what I am trying to get across is that it’s not fair to the child and other students in the general education class. Mother seems to be in denial. Or can it if a child is this severe with ASD? Mother once asked me do you think ASD can be cured? I said no and she gave me a funny look. Maybe that question made her in denial? Just venting.
