Hi everyone,
I've been doing BJJ for years and recently picked up Muay Thai too. So I'm brand new to striking but not brand new to martial arts.
I've read a bit about CTEs and given I'll be training this for fun rather than to compete, I'd like to do as much as I can to avoid head hits that aren't light.
Is it generally acceptable in boxing gyms to ask partners to go light on the head (I don't care at all about hard hits to the rest or my body).
I'm an engineer by trade and honesty I have to work extremely hard to keep up with my smarter peers, so I need all the brain power I can get...lol.
If not, I'll be fine with just drills, pad work etc, but know this will mean I'll never really improve beyond fitness.
What do others do to mitigate risk of CTEs if you're a hobbyist?

I’ve spent most of my life in Gaza, living under siege and enduring ongoing wars for 18 years. My childhood was shaped by events like the Palestinian civil war in 2005-2006 and repeated escalations of conflict with Israel—what some have called “mowing the lawn”—which happened every year or two.
I left Gaza in 2016 when I was 18 and have been living in Turkey ever since.
Here’s some context about my life: • Family Discoveries: When I was 11, I discovered that my older brother was actually my cousin. My mother was originally married to my uncle, who was killed while she was pregnant. A couple of years later, my father married her to take care of her and raise my brother. • Early Involvement in Conflict: My father was part of the Palestine Liberation Organization’s armed forces, and my family was deeply involved in Gaza’s underground trade.
Now, at 28 years old and living in Turkey, I am still struggling to finish my education due to financial situation that the last brutal war caused, nearly every thing got destroyed and my family got displaced. Even from a distance, the effects of that war continue to impact me.

Hello ! I wrote the question yesterday in the COROS's subforum, but haven't had many responses. I would like to know the opinion of Coros users who have the watch.
I am going to tell you the dilemma in which I find myself. 3 and a half years ago I bought a 2nd hand Coros Vertix for 320 € (340 $ approximately).
The watch worked perfectly, I used it on weekends and in summer quite often. Since 6 months ago I have started to train harder in trail running,
So I am currently averaging about 60 km (37.3 miles) per week. For some time now on the crown of the watch, it was not working well for me,
I turned it and the watch did not detect anything, I contacted the Coros service, and they told me to wash the watch under a tap of water and try to remove it slightly until you hear a “click” turn the crown of the watch,
because it could be a piece of mud or stone that had slipped in. Since then, I realized that if I pulled the crown out of the watch each time and heard the click (without putting it under the faucet) the watch would work.
The problem comes that every time I press the crown of the watch to activate the “enter” option, the crown of the watch goes back in, and stops working, so I have to be pulling the crown in and out every time I activate the “enter”.
On a day to day basis it is not a problem, but since I use it 4 times a week, while I am running in an activity and I want to change screens, it is quite annoying.
Also, I have noticed that sometimes the watch does strange things and changes my pace drastically, going from a pace of 5:00 min/km to suddenly 4:30 min/km or 6:00 min/km without me changing the pace (maybe it's because of the GPS signal in the city). In the mountains I don't usually have a problem.
After contacting again with Coros support service they offer me 180 € (190$) for my coros vertix (4 years old) and they discount it to buy me another watch in the Coros website, so the final price of the Coros Apex Pro 2 NEW would be 320 € (340$) and with 2 years of warranty.
How do you see this change of watch, would you do it or would you keep the watch I have? I have seen the features of the Coros Apex 2 Pro and for me they are more than enough in terms of battery life... it also has a better GPS...

I didn't even know lucid dreaming was a learnable skill I just thought it was something that happens and once I found out I really wanted to learn since I never had one before and I think I genuinely oughta be the luckiest mf on earth because I got it first try on the first night my second night I didn't get it but hopefully this night I get a lucid dream too.
Sadly though I kinda wasted my first lucid dream because I spent most of it just walking around looking at shit I was genuinely so preoccupied with how cool it is that I forgot to do cool shit. Just the realization of "I'm actually in a dream" was honestly surprisingly cool enough on its own.

Hey so I have a group of 5 girls who're roughly 6 months old now. About 2ish months ago I fixed their feed to be majority Science Selective Mouse Pellets and 10% of homemade supplement feed, since they were all getting on the chunkier side but especially one of them (Percy). I've noticed Percy's just still continuing to gain weight however, is this something to be concerned about? Is there a better feed I can provide them with to combat the weight gain? The other girls haven't lost or gained weight so it's likely a problem with the feed (but then why is Percy gaining and everyone else is the same).
The homemade supplement feed contains little majority seeds like millet (I can't remember them all atm but it's from a wild bird seed feed), a Rosewood herb mix, and dried mealworms and plain cornflakes in minority. I know this isn't the best detail but I'm recalling from memory atm. There's no sunflower or pumpkin seeds in their mix
