I think @sumelic mentioned the etymology of fury because, if you're trying to compare "fury" and "curiosity", it makes sense to look at their etymologies. As opposed to the (less helpful) etymologies of "furious" and "curious". The adjectives and nouns have taken different paths, though they share similar roots. – As far as English is concerned, the root of curiosity is curiosity. It was not formed from curious. The real question here is where the latter got its second u from. The French original did not have it. (Edit: and the answer to that, of course, is rather boring: by analogy with all the other -ous words. And when I Google New Oxford American Dictionary "curiosity of", all I see is irrelevant contexts like become a curiosity of the past and engage the curiosity of the reader. The reason I chose to search for his curiosity about/of sex was precisely to reduce or eliminate such accidental collocations which do not reflect OP's usage. – Consider "Scientific Curiosity". Although this is a specific kind, it can actually be rather broad. It also doesn't have any negative connotation to it that I've noticed. 2024.11.27 08:31 xxBoDxx Question for simple curiosity
Explanation (with a hint of rant) before the question:
I have quit the game for quite long after 1000+ hours for few reasons: - I've got tired of not getting the past harrow piece (I probably already have it prime but need it for the thing behind the ship), sevagoth and the prime pieces I need while repeating the same mission over and over and over. - I've got tired of not finding a way to build the equipment I like in a way that I find satisfying which made it a lot more harder and boring doing the missions for the pieces I needed.
So, my favourite equipment was: - Excalibur Umbra - Dread - Despair - War (expecially the War, the choices are a lot for aesthetic ls)
Excalibur went under several nerfs that had ruined my fun: my build was simply based on taking damage to restore my energy, using canalization to restore my health and using gas on his sword to kill everyone, corpus died even while still having their shield on. But after the reworks canalization is gone, yeah I could use the heavy attacks but it was not as much satisfying.
I went through several tests to find a way to accomplish my goal: excalibur and dread were somehow able to do what I wanted more or less (I had the riven for dread), but the despair an the war... I've done many test but never accomplished to get satisfying numbers (expecially on the despair, I have the riven for war too).
I don't plan to return, expecially because I'm done with excessive grind and developed hate and repulsion toward the live service model and general nerfs.
So the question is: was or is it even possible to make a build like this: excalibur umbra being an immortal machine war, dread one-shotting, despair taking few shots to kill (I'd prefer a slower rate; even with faster rate that worked better for dps it still wasn't satisfying the result) and war slaughtering enemies with few swings?
The idea is: dread for taking down enemies from far with one arrow, despair to take down a small group of enemies quickly at a middle range (I don't like the fact that I need to throw tons of knives to just one enemy, I prefer throwing less knives at a slower paca and having each of them dealing considerable damage, it's hard to explain the image I have in mind) and the war being used to slay the enemies close to me with really few swings and, as I said, without having to spam the same move but instead I chose which move I use basing on what I just feel like using. Was this even possible or was quitting the right choice?

- I Never saw so clunky/bugged/terrible scrolling experience ever, hell what is this?
