2024.11.27 12:37 beats_byjay Large letter returned due to being 'oversized' when it isn't
Hi everyone. I recently sent out two large letters- both A6 sized (18x12cm). They both weigh less than 60g which is the weight I chose for the label. I received a grey slip in the post saying the sender did not pay the full postage and was asked to pay £3- which I did. Yesterday, both letters were returned to me with a sticker on them saying they couldn't be sent to the destination because they are oversized. I do not understand this as they are well below the maximum large letter size (35.5x25cm).
They also have yellow stickers on saying insufficient postage because of underpaid- format. These are stamped saying paid, presumably due to the fact I paid the £3 online.
Why did they get returned to me? Do I have to pay the postage again to get them sent? If so, how do I avoid this happening again as the letters are definitely NOT oversized? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello. I am building a home in a Mutual Self Help program (kind of similar to Habitat for Humanity).
I will be tiling my bathroom floors with this sandstone tile (MSI Rainbow Teakwood Sandstone Tile) https://www.homedepot.com/p/MSI-Rainbow-Teakwood-12-in-x-12-in-Honed-Sandstone-Floor-and-Wall-Tile-10-sq-ft-Case-STEKRAIN1212G/202508253
It is obviously very porous/permeable. I want to pre-seal the top and sides before installation (and then again after installation).
I want the seal (and/or impregnator?) to look always wet color-wise, but I also want it to be sealed very well against water and staining. Strengthening would be nice too.
I've tested TSS300 and TSS500 https://tssprosealants.com/product-tag/sandstone/
The TSS300 looks wet. For some reason the TSS500 doesn't make the stone look wet. Maybe I got a bad sample batch of the 500?
But, I've dreamed of owning a home and having housing security ever since my mom passed away over a decade ago. I almost gave up several times.
I just want to use the best product for the tile to protect it and make it look nice.

So it has been over an year since I moved to this new state and I still don't feel like I fit in. I haven't made any good friends and honestly, just feel invisible. I think part of the problem is me, I am not confident enough to be "myself" and I also have a fear of getting closer to people. I start getting closer to them and immediately back off because suddenly they just become unbearable. The people I hang out with always have something wrong with them which I just can't overlook. Can someone please suggest me ways to overcome this??

Earlier this year, I finally did my first solo trip to Japan and had an amazing time exploring the Golden Triangle (Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo). However, I felt that not being able to speak Japanese was a huge barrier—especially when trying to connect with locals or navigate less touristy areas.
For my next trip, my goal is to become conversationally fluent enough to hold basic conversations with locals. I’m especially excited to explore the countryside and discover places where knowing Japanese might unlock unique experiences.
So, here’s my question: What places or experiences would you recommend to someone who can speak some basic Japanese? I’d love to hear about spots where speaking the language could make all the difference.

 | So I am unable to really find whats the issue here. I had applied for a reissue of my learners license as the old one had expired. I’ve completed all the necessary steps for my learner’s license application, including document uploads, e-sign, fee payment, and approval by the licensing authority. However, the status shows that the application is under processing at the RTO level, stuck at the "Printing of Learning License" stage. The new Learner's License number has also been showing but when I try to go print it. It shows "No record" Has anyone else faced this issue? Any suggestions on how to resolve this or whom to contact? Myself (26F) and my wife went in for our tattoo appointments after texting back and forth with the shop owner (he was also the artist we wanted tattoos done by). Long story short, we were under the impression that we were getting separate tattoos and the shop owner was under the impression that we were getting matching tattoos. When we showed up, he has his apprentice come out and show us the drawing. Side note, we had no idea that one of us would be being tattooed by the apprentice We started explaining that the drawing was beautiful, but not quite what we were expecting. The apprentice had the shop owner come out and he immediately started saying things like, “you said you wanted these flowers in a traditional style. That’s what this is.”. Which I COMPLETELY understand and started to explain that I meant I wanted it to look a different way. Rather than hearing me out, he was dismissive and starting talking about how he needed details (he had multiple photos of ideas I wanted to incorporate), he didn’t understand what was confusing about this, he had his apprentice come in just to tattoo us and implying that we were wasting time. In my head, giving him a handful of inspiration photos to work with and add his artistic flair to was preferred, but when I brought those up, he said “these are four different tattoos. Which one do you want?” I expected him to sit down and talk through the ideas, but he left it at, “figure out what you want, tell ___, and then just tell me what I’m tattooing on you.” and walked back to the back of the shop. By this point, we felt so unheard about a piece of art that would be on our bodies forever. We thought his delivery was so rude and unprofessional, that we ended up walking out. He did text an apology (which included that he didn’t understand what was upsetting, that we overreacted, and reiterating that he brought his apprentice in solely for our tattoos that day) and asked us to come back to talk through it. There was no way either of us was going to go sit in his/his apprentice’s chair for 3+ hours after this whole awkward situation and honestly feeling gaslit by this shop owner. The apprentice was SO kind and went above and beyond to try to salvage the situation, but it was so uncomfortable. AITA for walking out?

I’m a brand new claims paralegal. This is my first gig in the legal field and I don’t have a degree or certification, I found a great boss willing to train me on the job. I’ve worked here for a little over a year.
I have 175 cases which I recently found out is a lot, but I try to stay on top of it. Because of my caseload it’s sometimes hard to keep track of details on each case and I missed a statute deadline.
I checked with the attorney back in September or October bc we were worried we had missed the statute then, but we found a charge form in the clients file with a clocked charge number on it so we assumed it had been filed and the attorney said it was fine. Fast forward to yesterday we got a call that the commission never got a signed copy of the charge form from the client and we missed our statute that ran back in October. Come to find out the copy in the file had somehow been assigned a charge number but did not have a signature on it. It was also one the client drafted, not one that the attorney had approved to be filed. I completely missed that. I got the client to sign it and I’m turning it in today, but it likely won’t matter because the statute has passed.
I like where I work, but I’m afraid this is too big to overlook. I have zero prior experience in this field, and this is my first big fuck up. Is this a mistake I can’t come back from? Have you ever made a big mistake like this and recovered?

I’m selling a luxury bag on MP (not the first time selling luxury items), but this person demands to see the receipt, serial number + logo.
I send them a photo of the receipt & serial number blurred out, because there’s a lot of scammers asking for more info on bags to relist + scam other people.
A few sus things: 1. Profile only has 1 friend. Doesn’t seem to be from the same country I’m in. 2. She starts getting aggressive after I refuse to unblur, and told her that she can see it in person if she’s really interested. 3. Name calling starts + accuses me of selling a fake LOL 4. She also replies super quickly, regardless of the time I messaged her.
Anyways. I’m not opposed to sharing the serial number + more photos (as that’s normal if they’re a serious buyer), but their profile just screamed scam tbh. Would any of you guys handle it differently?

It's pretty annoying that you can't add a single image to your email via the new send via gmail feature.
Notion have also elected to not send via Google's servers so it also does not pickup your email signature.
ClickUp for example sends via Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 so your signature is picked up.
Long shot as I've tried a few things but anyone got a work-around for this.

Never known what to do and now suffering the consequences, what to do?
Ever since school, I’ve struggled with knowing what I want to do career-wise. I never had a clear passion or calling, which made it hard to focus on a specific path. After finishing school, I ended up in banking through a scheme. It seemed like a good opportunity, and I’ve gained qualifications and responsibilities, but the truth is, dealing with people’s problems every day isn’t for me. I feel stuck because while I appreciate the stability, I don’t see myself doing this long-term. The job is stressful for the pay and not very rewarding.
I’m almost into my late 20s and I have a mortgage, so I am stuck. I can’t go to university to study or find any courses to do - not that I’d know what I want to do anyway…
The frustrating part is that I do have interests—psychology, philosophy, religion, photography, gaming—but I have no idea how to translate them into a career. I enjoy learning and self-improvement and could spend hours debating or exploring these topics, but nothing feels like the right direction professionally.
If anyone has been in a similar situation, I’d love to hear how you worked through it or found clarity because I’m feeling lost and unsure where to start.
