2024.11.27 16:37 kratatan [s2 spoilers] Episode 7 timeline is doomed (show theory)
Call me crazy, but I think Ekko, Heim, and Jayce are in the same alternate timeline (AT) in ep7, but at different times – Heim was sent to the past, Ekko to the present, and Jayce to the future. I believe in this timeline Viktor will develop hextech on his own. The divergence in AT happens when the explosion kills Vi, as a result Jayce is banished from the city. But Viktor would be sent to collect Jayce things anyway, including his journal and equipment. Even in our timeline (OT), once Viktor learns of existence of hex, he is the main figure behind its development – he has the keys to Heim’s lab where the equipment is held, he has the idea to stabilize frequency, he has Jayce’s journal and basically knows everything Jayce does anyway – even later it is he who works on hexcore, while Jayce plays politics and implements commercial applications and weapons. In OT he checks up on Jayce to let him know he wants to develop his ideas, but in AT Jayce was sent away from the city so Viktor has no reason to go there. I don’t think Jayce unalives himself, since it was a spontaneous impulse while standing on that ledge, he probably moves somewhere else (noxus?) and it takes a lot longer for him to figure out frequency stuff (as he was stuck before Viktor suggestions).
Jayce in OT was beholden to Kierammans and Mel to publish his inventions and implement commercial things like hexgate (which is entirely his work, as you can see only his name on schematics in ep9), mining equipment, and etc, but Viktor doesn’t care and doesn’t depend on their patronage, he can just sit in his basement and secretly experiment on hexcore until he gets to the point of glorious evolution. OT Heimendinger once he appears after these events would have no idea that Viktor is dangerous, since he got transported before his jesus-adventures in OT became prominent. He would just see a world without obvious hextech applications, no Jayce in the city, and would assume that hextech was never invented here, and then disappear after sending OT Ekko back.
Here comes the crazy part – I don’t think the explosion and apocalypse is caused by Viktor. It doesn’t make sense, Viktor ambition is his perfect world, he wants the whole city to become like a commune in ep6, protected by those whitegold soldier thingies. He doesn’t want to create an explosion and kill everyone. No, the explosion is not caused by Viktor — it is caused by Ekko.
In ep9, when Ekko throws the pocket-anomaly at Viktor’s hexcore-anomaly, we see the magical explosion that knocks down everyone, then Viktor and Jayce sacrifice themselves to contain and absorb it.
I believe in AT, similar events would happen with buildup to the final battle – AT Jayce traveling to the city with his own version of hextech after realizing the danger, Noxians are involved in some way, some other energy source than hexgate is used by Viktor, AT Ekko and Powder have schematics and a full bag of blue crystals to recreate pocket-anomaly Z-drive (maybe they do so in preparation to defend the city, maybe they do so in attempt to see Vi).
Regardless the battle happens and goes on similarly – Jayce ends up on the roof of that building and Ekko throws the Z-drive at Viktor. Boom.
Except in this timeline, there is not enough trust and bond between Jayce and Viktor to do whatever they did in ep9 to reverse the explosion, and neither of them is strong enough to do it on their own. Maybe Viktor is not convinced to sacrifice his vision, maybe Jayce distrusts the dude he barely knows to offer his life and the rune he has, anyway they didn’t get absorbed into a rune as in ep9, because AT Viktor survived and Jayce’s body is right there.
AT Viktor then goes on with glorious evolution to “solve every equation in the fields of dreamless solitude”, becomes disillusioned and starts searching for a way to prevent all of it from happening.
Having time-travel abilities from Ekko’s anomaly he finds out that the only timeline where everything works out is the timeline where that dude he fought on a roof is his best friend and a soulmate.

Benevolence, Eye of the Jungle, Gilded Arrow... This kind of stuff. (God knows we don't need these 0 interaction pure stat ones like sentinels, they are boring af)
Maybe even reworking other items I'm still kinda hoping for Canoneer's as a starter
Most if not all Healing itemization needs to make a come back. Enchanter supports have never been a thing on Smite 1, they were basically tank supports with some healing, and now that can 100% work. One of the biggest problems with Supporting in S1 was the limited pool with such a limited playstyle. Even the oddest picks were still forced to be Tanks, and the variety was having Peel tanks, Engage tanks and "Damage'ish" Tanks. Allowing for actual variety would make the role way more enjoyable, which leads to my next point.
I kinda hoped Executioner like items work similarly to Smite 1's, literally taking prots off of the enemy rather than giving the player a pen buff. That would certainly allow for poke supports and picks like Cupid or Susano to be more viable as supports, and allowing for more different stuff to happen, reintroducing items like the clubs such as Rune-forged, the other katana like StoneCut, scepter and rod trees and so on.
One thing that kinda disappoint me is the lack of Tank Jungle. It simply isn't viable yet, which is odd since we finally have Smite(ish). Sure it is better than Smite 1 thanks to new Golden Blade, it is still far too bad to be compared to going full DPS
I guess adding more bruiser itemization would be nice, giving them enough int/str to clear (or making items focused on JG Clearing specifically tailored to tanks), still working as a tank for all purposes, and using Smite's Smite for objs
One thing I will say is that they should NOT turn every interactive item into an active. It is cool that we have some deeper passives that do stuff besides "gain extra stat" or "do more damage". I would rather have (for example) War banner, Sekmet's, Rune-Forged as a passive items that interact with the game than an active that doesn't really have to be, and takes the slot for more useful or interesting stuff

I've been in IT for almost 20 years. I had 2 layoffs and can't get an interview to save my life.
I'm working with a job coach and he gave me this advice:
If you want a corporate job at the the.Burger King corp, get a $10/hour job at a Burger King restaurant for 6 months then apply "internally" for the job you really want.
To me this seems sort of risky because it potentially wastes 6 months and I've never heard of someonee being promoted from cashier to Data Analyst.
But I'm not getting any interviews so I don't really know what works.
